Tata Motors Passenger vehicle segment is taking some aggressive steps in the Indian market while the Commercial Vehicle Division too isn’t far behind. Tata Motors commercial vehicle segment launched the new Intermediate and Light Commercial Vehicle (ILCV) range of trucks in the Indian market today christened as ‘ULTRA’.
This ultra modern truck offers many latest features, modern technology and a design which ensures lowest overall cost of ownership. Moreover the Ultra truck range offers an increased driver cabin comfort along with customizable requirements.
This new ULTRA range of commercial vehicles was built on a modern platform which also underpins the modern generation buses and trucks. A Good example of that is the Starbus range which was launched back in the year 2011 and uses the same ULTRA platform. This bus range is hugely popular amongst the commercial vehicle owner’s because for the driver and passenger comfort it provides along with many other features such as refined NVH level, fuel efficiency and also an overall low cost ownership.
The ULTRA trucks were first showcased at the 2012, Auto Expo and they have been developed keeping the customers in mind during the whole developmental process. These trucks come with a payload capacity varying between 5000 Kilograms to 15000 Kilograms. Not only this the new trucks will also come equipped with a reliable Tata engine, gearbox and clutch plus. These trucks will also provide features like disc brakes, radial tyres, spacious world-class cabin, suspended seats and HVAC option.
Tata has also taken care of the driver comfort as well and thus has provided world-class hydraulic 45 degree tiltable cabin, sufficient storage space inside, gear lever mounted on the dashboard for easy access, provision for AC and a modern instrument cluster.

– head and tail lamps integrated with LED which too is industry first in this segment.
As of now Tata has launched only its first two models ULTRA 812 and ULTRA 912 which comes equipped with all the features mentioned above. The The Ultra 912 and the Ultra 812 were launched for a price of Rs 10.94 lakh and Rs 10.53 lakh respectively (ex-Showroom, Chennai).
Both of the ULTRA 812 and ULTRA 912 trucks will be available with four four color option:
– Sardinia Red
– Arctic White
– Arizona Blue
