Volvo trucks are known for their capabilities to overcome the extreme situations. The Volvo FMX trucks are large tall trucks capable to perform off-roading duties. The video we got in our hand proves that vehemently. The truck in this video is a Volvo FMX and a 4 year old little girl is driving the truck. Well, she is not at the driver seat, but she is driving the large truck with help of a remote control. The truck is equipped with remote control devices for real time driving maneuvers.

With successful two seasons under the sleeves Tata Motors is going to organize the third season of the T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship 2016, which will take place on 20th March, 2016, at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC), Greater Noida. For the championship Tata Motors has already started the race training and selection program for the competing drivers.
In the T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship 2016 there will be a race for Indian truck drivers for the first time. Like previous two seasons of 2014 and 2015, this time also six teams featuring 12 Tata Prima trucks will take part in the championship. The teams will consist of experienced international truck drivers. Tata Motors, the biggest commercial vehicle maker of India wants to make the truck driving profession aspirational and through this championship they want to attract drivers toward the profession. On the race day there will be two race categories, which are Superclass and Proclass. The Superclass category will comprise of Indian race truck drivers, while the Proclass category will be comprising of the international race truck drivers.
The T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship is organized by MMSC (Madras Motor Sports Club) and is inscribed on the calendars of FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile) and FMSCI (the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India) making the event truly global. Tata Motors and Ashok Auto Sales jointly launched a new 3S facility at Firozabad, which will provide customers a complete experience of sales, service and spares, and all under one roof. This is one of the five facilities operated by Ashok Auto Sales.
The new facility is situated on a space of more than 5000 square meters. The facility comes equipped with 24 x 7 onsite customer support system, with full loaded mobile workshops. Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV), which is cooperating with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, Japan (MFTBC) under the umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia, launched their robust FUSO trucks in South Africa, making the country the 14th market since the export started in May 2013. Initially DICV will export the light to medium duty trucks and in future they will export more “built in India” trucks to South Africa. DICV is optimizing their research activities, product development and sourcing in Oragadam plant to provide reliable, efficient and quality products.
The latest technology equipped Daimler trucks are robust, fuel efficient, and the company is expecting that the trucks will meet the demand of the customers in South African market. Rigorous testing has been conducted under most strenuous driving conditions to ensure maximum reliability of the trucks. They are expecting FUSO FA 9-137 truck is set to dominate the light to medium duty truck segment.

Tata Motors completes delivery of 23 state of the art buses, to the Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd. of Goa. These 23 buses delivered at a flag-off ceremony held in Panaji, and it is a part of an order for a total of 43 buses placed by Kadamba Transport Corporation, and also this is a part of a larger order of 3400 buses. This order was secured by Tata Motors under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) phase - II.
These buses were designed by the Automobile Corporation of Goa Ltd. (ACGL), which is the subsidiary of the Tata Motors. These buses were designed and made for after keeping the passenger and driver safety and comfort in mind, and these buses were tested for best operating efficiencies for State Transport undertaking companies. All of these buses come with a new front facade, which is clearly noticeable from a distance. Not only this. All of these buses come with Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) as per UBS-II specifications, which will enable Tata Motors to monitor the performances in terms of number of trips and the off-road positions of these buses. This unique system will also signal pre scheduled maintenance via an On Board Diagnostics (OBD) system, which will be directly linked to the central control room server, via GPRS (General Packet Radio Services) and GPS (Global Positioning System). Through these systems the operator of these buses Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd. will be able to realign bus routes easily, which will direct the drivers and conductors on board the bus through the high quality LED destination boards installed on the buses.
These buses come with a floor height of 900 mm and a length between 9-12 meters, and offer seating capacity for 30–50 passengers.
Tata Motors has achieved a new feat by completing 1 billion kilometers on road with Delhi Transport Corporation in 7 years. DTC is one of largest CNG powered bus operator in the world, which operates both in and outside of Delhi.
Tata Motors DTC buses operate from 22 bus depots spread across New Delhi, ferrying more than 30 lakh passengers, covering approximately 4.70 lakh kilometers regularly, with a fleet availability of 96%, which is a world record in itself. They have a fleet of 2682 buses, which include low floor and semi floor A/C and Non A/C variants. DTC buses are the most popular means of public transport for intra city travel in Delhi. These buses have been catering to nearly 50% of the Delhi’s total commuters, and Tata Motors DTC buses have completed 1007127708 kilometers, as of August 15, 2015. In 2007, the Government of Delhi placed an order with Tata Motors to maintain 650 buses, which won another order to supply 2032 more buses to the DTC.
Various organizations use Tata Motors buses from DTC, for various significant ceremonies such as Independence Day, Republic Day and the Auto Expo. Tata Motors buses were also used to ferry national and international athletes, media persons and dignitaries during the 2010 Common Wealth Games in Delhi. This year also, Tata Motors buses were used during the visit of the President of the United States of America.

Mahindra has sold a total of 35, 634 units in August, 2015, which means they have just gained 1% sales growth comapared to the same period last year. Last year they were able to sell a total of 35, 180 units. Although in recent times Mahindra has seen a steep decline in their sales figure but this new statistics statistics are no where near satisfactory level, and just before the launch of their new SUV Mahindra TUV300, this is definietly no inspiring news for them.
The passenger vehicle sales have declined by 7%, while the utility vehicles and cars-vans segment too faced declination. The only segment which has actually seen some rise is MHCV, where they have seen some 21% growth. Along with that in the commercial vehicles segment they have gained by 5% sales growth. The three wheelers segment on the other hand has also seen a steep decline.
Mahindra has been a top player in the utility and SUV segment of Indian market. But the recent trend is all about declination, which is pretty much clear from the domestic sales data available.
In the domestic segment Mahindra’s sales figure has declined by 3%. Although the company has gained an impressive amount of success in exporting vehicles, as in this segment they have seen a 73% rise than the same period last year. Their cumulative sales and exports figure however are not so impressive though, as it has gained only 1% sales growth.
Meeting the new Bharat Stage IV norm, which is set to be implemented from April, 2017; BharatBenz has claimed they are ready to produce their range of 9 to 49 ton trucks according to Bharat Stage IV emission standard, and with this they are eyeing to capture a large share of the commercial vehicle segment of Indian Automobile market.
Not only BharatBenz, but their parent group Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) is also offering the Bharat Stage IV bus variants for the schools and staff transportations in their front engine 9T bus product range. Incidentally, DICV is all set to launch its new range of buses in next month, and all of those vehicles will come equipped with Bharat Stage IV emission norm.
To meet the Bharat Stage IV norm, DICV has used a system which is derived from their Bluetec technology which have been used and proved successful for over a decade in Daimler Vehicles in various many markets earlier. DICV has already tested this new technology in Indian operating conditions for over a million kilometers before finally offering this technology equipped vehicles to the customers. Not only that, apart from meeting the stringent emission regulations by reducing toxic gas levels within the proposed Bharat Stage IV norms, the DICV made trucks and buses will also deliver better fuel economy to customers.

Drive through potholes filled rough roads, and then stand waiting to pay tax at toll plaza. We know, it hurts. But no more paying hefty toll tax for driving on such bad roads.
Yes. Supreme Court of India has given a pro user verdict stating that, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and concessionaires cannot collect tax if the condition of the road is bad. Motorists and passengers have long standing grievances about the poor road conditions in India, and thereafter about paying hefty taxes to highway toll plazas. While the private road contractors collect money to earn much more money, they don’t pay back the tax payers properly by giving a well conditioned and well maintained road. NHAI has also negligence about it.
The case started with the high toll tax on poor conditioned 26 km long Raipur-Durg stretch on National Highway 53. A bench of Supreme Court Justices T S Thakur and Kurian Joseph appointed a special committee to inspect the road condition, and with the detailed report from the probing committee Apex Court has ruled, “General public should not be made to suffer on both counts – bad roads and hefty toll.” The verdict also orders the concerned concessionaire to refund a sum of INR. 11 crores to Central Government, which it had collected as toll tax. Incidentally, central Government has taken the charge of this road from the concessionaire in last march.
However, this verdict brings really good tone, as we don’t need to suffer on both counts any more. No more driving on bad roads and paying hard earned money for that.
Tata Motors is the leading operator in the light commercial vehicle and pickup truck segment of Indian market, and they just took another leap with Ace Mega. Today Tata Motors launched a new sturdy and lightweight pickup truck Tata Ace Mega in Mumbai.
Ace Mega can carry a load of 1 ton, and it comes with a light weight aluminum made fourth generation 2 cylinder 800 cc DiCOR engine matched with 5 speed gearbox which is capable to deliver 40 hp peak power. Large brakes and strong and rugged leaf spring suspension set up and high ground clearance of 175 mm makes this vehicle capable to take on various road conditions. Tata Motors claims that this vehicle comes with 90 kmph maximum speed, which ensures it can make more and more trip with low turnaround timing which will earn the operators more and more revenue. They also claims it comes with ARAI certified 18.5 kmpl fuel economy, which is best in the segment. Thus this vehicle comes as the lowest cost operational vehicle in the small pickup truck segment. Small pickup trucks are the new forte of Indian commercial vehicle market, as they are very popular thanks to the low cost operations, thus bringing the operators more and more profit.
Tata Ace Mega comes with a price tag of INR. 4.31 lakh (Ex showroom, Thane), while Tata Motors has announced it will be available in attractive Azure Blue color initially. They also announced that initially, this vehicle will be available in seven states, which are Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
Mahindra’s Truck and Bus division rolled out their 15000th heavy duty commercial vehicle (HCV) truck from Chakan plant near Pune, Maharashtra. Beside that they have achieved a feat of selling 125000 LCVs in Indian market. On this occasion they also announced about investing INR. 700 crore in developing new ICVs and LCVs which will be added to the fleet of 3.5 ton to 49 ton range.
Mahindra also revealed their plan to become a major player in the Indian commercial vehicle industry in next 2 years. Incidentally, the present topper in the segment of Indian market is Tata Motors. Keeping an eye to that objective, Mahindra is expanding their network with 66 3S dealerships, 90 authorized service centers, 2516 roadside assistance service points and 1322 outlets across the country to sale spare parts for the vehicles.

Tata Motors group global wholesales figure has declined by 8% in July 2015, which includes Jaguar Land Rover sales also. As per the reports, the sales figure is 73535 units in last July, while the cumulative wholesales for this fiscal has also been flat with 307017 units.
Global wholesales for Tata commercial vehicles as well as Tata Daewoo in 2015 July were 30278 units, which is 3% lower than previous year. Cumulative wholesales for Tata commercial vehicles were 117040, which is also a declining number for the Indian origin auto manufacturer. All passenger vehicles segment is also hit with a sales decline as compare to 2014 July this segment has seen 12% lower sales with 43257 units. Cumulative wholesales figure was also flat with 189977 units. The only bright light for Tata Motors was Tata Motors passenger vehicles segment, as it saw 12% rise in sales with 10689 units and the cumulative wholesales figure for this fiscal is 42957 units, which is 23% higher than last fiscal.
Jaguar Land Rover globally sold 32568 vehicles, only Jaguar has sold 6882 vehicles in July, 2015, while the cumulative wholesales figure was 28084 units. On the other hand Land Rover sold 25686 units, and cumulative wholesales were 118936 units.
Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and the National Green Tribunal (NGT) recently decided to ban all diesel vehicles over 10 years old from running on the road. This was done as these old cars increase air pollution and are not as safe as new cars. The ban is in effect only in Delhi for now but will soon be enforced in all other major metro cities.
To aid owners dispose their old diesel cars, the government has decided to offer incentives and tax benefits for those who scrap their old cars. The incentives offered vary depending on the size of the vehicle. For small passenger vehicles, it is INR 30,000 and it goes up to INR 50,000. For commercial vehicle it is likely to go up again depending on the size of the vehicle. Large trucks will get INR 1.5 lakhs. After owners scrap their cars, they will be given a certificate which can be produced during the purchase of a new car to get a discount which will be the above mentioned amount.
The government is setting up 8 to 10 industrial units across the country to scrap old cars. The transport minister is also asking auto makers to start manufacturing Euro 6 compliant vehicles as soon as possible. The NGT is also supporting this.

We all notice that while our daily commuting routes, yet we don’t exactly notice that posts making way and stopping so many vehicles round the clock. We even didn’t remember its birthday, but Google did, and they celebrated the day worldwide with their unique doodle.
In 5th August, 1914, American Traffic Signal Company first installed world’s first electric traffic signal at the corner of East 105th Street and Euclid Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio, in USA. That was just a beginning and a little step, a revolutionary one and a giant leap for the mankind of course, which simply brought a new dimension for the traffic system all around world. This electric signal system, not only made the job easier for the traffic policemen, but also reduced the congestion in the busy street intersections, as well as increased the safety for the commuters crossing the roads.
The first traffic signal was installed in London in 1868, although those were gas operated and there were very few reports of accidental explosions too, which made these signals ineffective as well as dangerous for pedestrians. Later in 1912 came the wooden box with colored red and green lights attached with the poles and powered by the overhead electric wires. Those handmade lights were installed by a policeman Lester Wire of Utah were the first initiative of electric signal system and after two years came the first electric signal of the earth.
