The pickup truck will not launch in India yet but there is a possibility of it launching in the near future
Mercedes-Benz Unveiled their very first premium pickup concept towards the end of 2016. It even received new ‘X’ initial branding as well. Although there is no chance of it launching in our Indian market yet, we sincerely wish that this beautiful Pick-Up truck makes its presence felt on our Indian soil sometimes soon.
Although the pickup truck market is not yet flourished in our Indian market, they are quite popular in the markets of Argentina, Brazil and South America. The car will enter production towards late 2017 and will launch in the markets of Europe followed by the rest of the world.
As far as the styling is concerned the soon to be introduced X Class looks identical to the Concept it gets a bold looking front grille which looks like it has taken inspiration from the GLS SUV. It further also features a skid plate horizontal bars and a big hood at the front end. A V6 engine will power the X-Class Pickup truck. The SUV will also get Mercedes like LED headlamps along with LED daytime running lamps. The Pickup truck shares the same ladder frame chassis with the Nissan Navara and Renault Alaskan.
The new X-Class pickup truck will be made available four-door double cab design and will get a carrier deck attached to the back. Like you already know by now that this will be a premium offering and thus expect the interior to be loaded with high-quality materials like Nappa leather, aluminium and also wood inside.
The X-Class pickup truck will most probably be powered by a V6 motor which will be paired to an automatic gearbox. The gearbox will send all that power to the four wheels of the vehicle via the 4Matic all-wheel drive system.
The Duster Oroch Picjup truck will take on the Scorpio Getaway and Isuzu D-Max V-Cross
According to the earlier reports, Renault was planning to introduce a pickup truck in India, and those rumors now seem to be coming true. Only today Gaadiwaadi has released a patented image of the Duster Oroch Pickup truck. Yes! Duster Oroch is the same vehicle that built for the South American market and was showcased at the Brazil Auto show almost two years ago.
The reports also suggest that Renault has patented the image in India. Now like we all know India has never been a Pickup truck friendly market, but there is obviously some competition that Renault will have to face if they consider launching the Oroch in India. Last year when CEO and MD Mr Sumit Sawhney was asked whether there were any plans to introduce the Pickup Truck for the domestic market his reply was a big No. However, it seems like Renault might change their mind soon.
India already has some lifestyle pickup trucks from the likes of Mahindra and Isuzu. However, the Duster Oroch could create an amount of interest mainly keeping the popularity of the Duster in mind.

Tata is on the roll this year because they already have launched the first product of this year for the Indian market already. The Xenon Yoddha range of pickup trucks is an important product for Tata Motors both in the National as well as International markets. The Xenon range of trucks was introduced by Tata Motors at the 2006 Bologna Motor show and was launched back in 2007. There is no doubt that the Xenon gets a stylish exterior, comfortable interior.
The new Xenon Yoddha pickup truck was launched today in the presence of the manufacturers newly appointed brand Ambassador Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. This truck also promises to be a new benchmark in the pickup segment. The new Xenon truck will be suitable for various type of commercial purposes like carrying goods and transporting various products.

We all were eagerly waiting for the first premium pickup truck from Mercedes-Benz and although our Indian market is definitely not a popular market for the Pickup trucks but this could change it all. According to Mercedes this pickup truck will combine the best of both worlds. Mercedes says that this truck design resembles tough, functional, strong, and its off-road capability. These trucks obviously carry the 3 star logo and focuses on brand design, comfort and also the driving dynamics and safety at the same time.
With this product Mercedes Benz also wants to extend its vans product range and this will be the fourth model. Mercedes-Benz has plans to launch these truck in the world market towards late 2017 and it will launch under the Mercedes-Benz X-Class nameplate. Mercedes-Benz are hopeful that their new product will change the segment of Mid-Size pickups.
This mid-size truck will be based on the ladder type frame chassis and will also use a powerful six cylinder engine and also a permanent all wheel drive system as well which Mercedes thinks is compulsory for a truck. Few years ago the pickup trucks were only used for workload purpose but now they are actually also becoming a versatile vehicle for daily use. World strongest man guides the world strongest truck

The Volvo FH16 truck comes with i-shift with crawler gears which helps the person driving the trick to pull loads of upto 325 tonnes. This is definitely one of the craziest stunts you will ever see. The truck definitely fails to pull the load at the first attempt because of some technical failure but does it manages to pull the load in the second attempt is what we will find in the video.

Volvo trucks are known for their capabilities to overcome the extreme situations. The Volvo FMX trucks are large tall trucks capable to perform off-roading duties. The video we got in our hand proves that vehemently. The truck in this video is a Volvo FMX and a 4 year old little girl is driving the truck. Well, she is not at the driver seat, but she is driving the large truck with help of a remote control. The truck is equipped with remote control devices for real time driving maneuvers.
As we saw, first the truck was hit by a large wooden crate, which couldn’t even make a dent on the truck. Then it performed various other off roading tasks. The girl even rolled the truck completely, which I think was not intentional, but the amazing fact is the truck was in very good shape after roll over and it started racing again hitting blockades, brick walls and other obstacles. This live test proves nothing but the toughness and great off-roading capabilities of the Volvo truck.
With successful two seasons under the sleeves Tata Motors is going to organize the third season of the T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship 2016, which will take place on 20th March, 2016, at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC), Greater Noida. For the championship Tata Motors has already started the race training and selection program for the competing drivers.
In the T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship 2016 there will be a race for Indian truck drivers for the first time. Like previous two seasons of 2014 and 2015, this time also six teams featuring 12 Tata Prima trucks will take part in the championship. The teams will consist of experienced international truck drivers. Tata Motors, the biggest commercial vehicle maker of India wants to make the truck driving profession aspirational and through this championship they want to attract drivers toward the profession. On the race day there will be two race categories, which are Superclass and Proclass. The Superclass category will comprise of Indian race truck drivers, while the Proclass category will be comprising of the international race truck drivers.
The T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship is organized by MMSC (Madras Motor Sports Club) and is inscribed on the calendars of FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile) and FMSCI (the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India) making the event truly global. Commenting about the championship, Mr. Ravindra Pisharody, Executive Director, Commercial Vehicle Business Unit, has said, “Ever since it was first introduced in 2014, T1 has proved to be a great platform to showcase the prowess of the Indian commercial vehicles industry and that of Tata Motors, and Season III presents us with a great opportunity to launch our next big initiative – Indian Race Truck drivers.”

The beautiful professional motorsport athlete took the opportunity to give a lesson to those guys, who think girls can’t drive. We are not talking about everyday commuting, but all the speedy and risky maneuvers.
So, what did she do? Leona disguised herself as a sales girl in one of the Mitsubishi showroom and offered test drives to the interested customers in a fifth generation Mitsubishi Triton L200 pickup truck. As Leona took the wheel from the viable customers, the guys seemed to become awestruck with her driving skills. Well, in the beginning of the video we saw one of the guys saying Leona, “You know how to handle this car? This is a man’s car you know.” At the end of the video Leona replied to him, “Who said girls cannot drive?” Pretty well fitting answer in a fast and furious manner I must say.
India’s small commercial vehicle segment although does not have many competitors but still the competition is intense. Mahindra who is definitely one of the major players of this game launched their product Genio couple of years ago and it left quite a buzz in this segment because of its low maintenance diesel engine and load carrying capability.
Recently Mahindra decided to launch a new pickup truck to replace their existing Genio. The new commercial vehicle which will replace the Genio is called the Imperio, Mahindra is calling it premium, aspirational pick up. This truck has been developed to help those who are in the small medium businesses transportation. Compared to the other trucks of its segment the Imperio brings stylish futuristic design and premium interiors for the comfort of its occupants inside and above all superior performance.
The model is offered in the Indian market with both single-cab and double-cab versions. The Imperio is also offered with two variants which include the base and the top of the line VX variant. The base variant is made available with BSIII engine while the slightly pricier variant gets the BSIV engine. The Imperio is positioned above the Mahindra Bolerio Pik Up and will compete with the Tata Xenon and Isuzu D-Max Pik Up.

Tata Motors and Ashok Auto Sales jointly launched a new 3S facility at Firozabad, which will provide customers a complete experience of sales, service and spares, and all under one roof. This is one of the five facilities operated by Ashok Auto Sales.
The new facility is situated on a space of more than 5000 square meters. The facility comes equipped with 24 x 7 onsite customer support system, with full loaded mobile workshops. It also comes with facilities like availability of financing, insurance and loyalty programs, including annual maintenance contracts. And there is an exclusive customer lounge and resting facility for the drivers. The new facility comes located off the strategic Kolkata-Kanpur-Delhi highway.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV), which is cooperating with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, Japan (MFTBC) under the umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia, launched their robust FUSO trucks in South Africa, making the country the 14th market since the export started in May 2013. Initially DICV will export the light to medium duty trucks and in future they will export more “built in India” trucks to South Africa. DICV is optimizing their research activities, product development and sourcing in Oragadam plant to provide reliable, efficient and quality products.
The latest technology equipped Daimler trucks are robust, fuel efficient, and the company is expecting that the trucks will meet the demand of the customers in South African market. Rigorous testing has been conducted under most strenuous driving conditions to ensure maximum reliability of the trucks. They are expecting FUSO FA 9-137 truck is set to dominate the light to medium duty truck segment.
