2017 Tata Nexon
Tata Motors is a household name which we are all familiar with not exactly for their passenger’s cars but for their array of commercial vehicles which ply on our Indian roads. However, the entire scenario changed since the year 2014 when our homegrown auto manufacturer decided to introduce their new generation lineup for the Indian market. In that particular year, Tata Motors also showcased a sub-4 meter SUV concept at the 2014 Auto Expo which looked futuristic and way ahead of its time. Later we came to know Tata Motors received a lot of enquiries about the particular concept car which encouraged them to give a green signal to the project.
Move ahead to the year 2016 Auto Expo where we saw an almost production ready Nexon concept which looked futuristic and promised to bring with it an array of new features to this segment. The SUV was spotted being tested a couple of times on the Indian road and other various conditions. We also got to see a glimpse of the production variant of the Nexon at the 2017 Geneva Motor show. Tata Motors has also confirmed that they will be launching the much awaited Nexon sub-4 meter SUV towards the month of September.
The sub-4 meter SUV is a direct rival to the popular Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Ford Ecosport. Initially, we thought that it would be launched only with a diesel engine under its hood, but now we have received the confirmation that Tata Nexon will be available with both diesel and petrol engines which also give it a slight edge over its rival the Vitara Brezza.
Tata Nexon definitely has the looks to catch everyone’s attention but does it have everything to tick all the boxes? Find it out here in our overview of this new sub-4 meter SUV from Tata Motors.
2017 Datsun redi-GO 1.0 Litre
Datsun introduced the Redi-GO last year but unfortunately was not able to attract a lot of attention either because of its compact dimensions or lack of features or perhaps an underpowered engine. Although Datsun might not have addressed the first two issues, they took care of the third and probably the most important issue.Datsun Has decided to add a bigger engine under the hood of their entry level offering.
The redi-Go was the first model that was introduced after the Renault-Nissan alliance’s CMF-A flexible platform which is the same platform that also underpins the Renault KWID as well. The hatchback even uses the same 799cc, a three-cylinder engine which also powers the Renault KWID. The slightly more powerful Redi-Go 1.0 Litre unit is also the same engine which has been borrowed from the Renault KWID, while Renault calls it SCe (Smart Control Efficiency), Datsun has decided to go with i-SAT name.
Jerome Saigot, vice president, Datsun India, added, "Datsun is focused on offering accessible and high-value-for-money cars for aspirational "young India." The Datsun redi-GO 1.0L is the latest example of our brand’s core strengths, and we will continue to enhance the Datsun model line-up in line with our customers’ expectations."
Datsun launched the redi-Go 1.0 Litre in India and for those customers who want to get their hands on the more powerful redi-Go variant can go to any Nissan dealerships and can book theirs.

2018 Indian Scout Bobber
When Polaris took over the operations ofIndian Motorcycles, they literally revived the brand from the dark shallows of the abyss and created a niche for the brand worldwide. Since then, Indian motorcycles seems to have found its stronghold in India and has been swiftly introducing more products to its existing lineup. For its new instalment on the Scout platform, the Polaris owned manufacturer has launched the 2018 Indian Scout Bobber. A black-out minimalistic approach of the Scout platform ready to tear apart the asphalt.
The reason it is in existence is credited to the purists and enthusiasts who started building one from their Scouts. So the folks at Indian decided to capture the American way of the ‘30s and built this brutally beautiful factory custom bobber. It carries around the same panache and poise of the Scout and leaves no question of having a prominent place in the lineup of this historic brand. This could just as well be the bike you’ve been waiting for, and I cannot wait to decipher the logic behind this.
2018 Jaguar E-Pace
Almost every other Auto manufacturer has atleast one compact SUV or Crossover in their lineup because of their popularity across the World. Jaguar compared to some of its other rivals entered this competition little late but definitely with a bang with their big sporty Crossover F-Pace last year. Now Jaguar wanted some sales numbers and what else could bring them that except a crossover which collaborate almost all the qualities of their flagship Crossover in a small exciting yet affordable package.
Our spy photographers managed to capture the first testing sessions of the E-Pace Crossover towards early last year with the help of that we can assume that the development of this car began atleast one year before.
So now the question is will the E-Pace be as successful as its big brother the F-Pace? Well, the initial impression of the Crossover picked up lots of positive reviews from across the world. It definitely looks sporty and shares almost the same DNA with its successful brother the F-Pace, the E-Pace based on the modified version of the JLR D8 platform which also underpins the Range Rover Evoque and the Land Rover Discovery 4. Although the Crossover looks compact, it offers plenty of space inside, but the small shape gives it a more sporty appeal. What else is also interesting is also the fact that the E-Pace gets the 2.0 Litre Ingenium diesel and petrol engines which also powers some of the other cars of the JLR family.
So it already has almost all the right formula which is needed to make this product successful, and Jaguar calls this compact SUV "A seriously smart small SUV. Designed and engineered to be beautiful, fun and bright", but does it live up to its name?
We find out everything that you should know about this new addition which will begin its delivery from early next year and offcourse this will come to the Indian market as well.
