TVS Motor is the third largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India, whose strength lies in its goal of designing and development of new products that are a continuous source of inspiration. They produce machines that beam innovation and technology acumen at the highest standards giving the competition a run for their money.

Fuelling such visions, the Hosur based company is said to invest ₹ 500 crores in the coming future for launching new products and improving operations. According to the report, TVS is looking at launching a performance motorcycle along with a new scooter very soon. Also, the company is currently developing a brand new next generation engine to power its future products in a run to suppress the competition.

The company has also increased its expenditure capacity when compared to the previous years and it will have eventually led them to increase their product portfolios and improve operations across all levels in the company. Right from the manufacturing, procurement and showroom dealers, the company has been investing more than ever to increase operation efficiency and qualities in all portfolios of the management.

Recently, the company has overtaken Hero MotoCorp as being the second biggest scooter market in the country, with Honda being at the top comfortably. Now, the company wants to expand the scooter portfolio too and is currently scouring the market to see viable options to get a taste of the 125cc segment.

The Hosur based manufacturer wants to expand its ‘Jupiter’ brand and screw in a 125cc motor under the hood of the Jupiter, something like what Honda did with its Activa. In the three years of its existence in the Indian market, the Jupiter has been one of the fastest selling scooters, giving a tough fight to all the established rivals.

And of course, the company is currently working on a somewhat similar frame as the KTM-Bajaj and has taken the jump with BMW Motorrad. Both TVS and BMW will be sharing and developing platforms together to distribute products locally and the global stage. This joint venture will benefit TVS by bringing in investments and expertise to further broaden their R&D capability to improve on existing projects and bring in innovations across their product lineup.

The first product of this venture is the soon to be launched Apache RTR 310 which will replace the Apache RTR200 to be the company’s flagship model. Based on the G310 platform, the Akula carries over the suspension unit, chassis, brakes, radials and the exhaust. Wearing a full fairing silhouette, first ever at TVS, it’s got aggressive styling and stance that could make any contender sweat.
