2017 Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro Pro
We all know that Ducati is one such motorcycle maker which makes machines straight from the heart. Every motorcycle in the stable of Ducati speaks of some purpose which is beautifully blended with the pinch of hardcore passion. Ducati made a surprising move some half a decade ago when it unveiled the Multistrada for the first time in front of the world. Out of all the motorcycles from Ducati, the Multistrada proved out to be the most practical motorcycle which still doesn’t miss out on the specific Ducati principles.
The Multistrada gradually went on creating a new niche of motorcycles, thus changing the image of Ducati as a manufacturer of only hard-core supersports. Then in 2015, they gave us the Enduro edition. Unlike the urban design of the standard Multistrada 1200, the new Multistrada 1200 Enduro claims to expose the wild side of Ducati, with its pure adventure appeal.
Now in 2017, the brand has taken it to the next level. They have given the adventure junkie more tools to let the 1200 Enduro go “even more globetrotter with the Pro version”. To allow treading on even less-beaten track, the Pro features rally tyres, new tank bars, new colour schemes, type-approved titanium exhaust sets and more. Let me go ranting about them:
Cleveland CycleWerks is going to set up shop in India by the end of the year.
In a country that is price conscious, it was a gamble played by motorcycle manufacturers when they decided to bring in their higher segment motorbikes. If statistics are to be believed, India is in the highest rankings in terms of growing economy. People started investing in premium motorcycles that were lauded in the performance and engineering arena. More and more players started entering the Indian subcontinent to showcase their entry level performance machines. And the gamble has paid off.
Now, not only well-established fully grown contenders are making their way into the country, but also ones that have just been fertilised on the planet. One of them is Cleveland CycleWerks and they are coming to India to taste what it is like to operate in the current biggest market for two-wheelers in the world.
It’s official. SWM Motorcycles are coming to India by December 2017.
We know, for one, that manufacturers are showing so much love to the ADV motorcycle category off-late, and it’s high time that we get out and do a little exploring for ourselves. With CRFs, Tigers, Multistradas and Versys entering the country, add one more Italian name to the list of Adventure tourers heading our way. SWM Motorcycles.
There were speculations about Kinetic working out the possibility of introducing yet another Italian firm to the Indian market through Motoroyale known as SWM Motorcycles. (The first one being MV Agusta). Now, Kinetic has confirmed that the will introduce the Italian brand into the country by getting the SWM 650 SuperDual Adventure Motorcycles through the completely knocked down (CKD) route.
Honda launched the Africa Twin in India with an unbelievable price tag. But you’ve to hurry up.
With the Dakar rally, some manufacturers were happy about being participated, but Honda went on to win 1-2-3 positions in 1986. Just 5 years after their first appearance. And they did it on the then Africa Twin. Almost 30 years ago, the Africa Twin conquered the Paris-Dakar Rally. This year, it’s been re-imagined with the same True Adventure spirit and is hitting the Indian shores after a delay of nearly a couple of years.
The CRF 1000L Africa Twin is that wild experience machine being fed with all that Honda has to offer in this turf. First showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has launched this motorcycle here in India with an astonishing price tag of just ₹ 12.9 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and making it its first 1000cc ‘Make in India’ model.
Where would you go if you had one of these 2×2 All-Terrain Motorcycle?
Could you imagine your motorcycle coming apart only so that you could pack it neatly in a bag and shove it in some corner of your house or your car? The same can again be refitted to run on snow, water, sand, hills, stairs, muddy banks, narrow gorges,.. you know where I am getting with this.
The Russians have made one for themselves and it looks like a whole lot of fun. It’s called the Taurus 2x2.
