All of you should be well aware of the fact that KTM is all set to unveil the new Duke series along with the updated RC series in India towards the first half of 2017. Motoroids was able to get their hands on the leaked brochure of both the new RC series motorcycles.
Both the RC 200 as well as the RC390 will get a completely new paint scheme, while the more powerful RC variant amongst the duo will also get the ride by wire throttle system which will be carried over from the new Duke 390. Besides the ride by wire throttle system the RC390 also gets a completely new exhaust system which also gets a stainless steel underfloor pre-silencer and a rear aluminium absorption silencer containing the catalytic converter which has helped in reducing the overall weight. However compared to the earlier motorcycle the updated RC390 gains little more weight. The RC390 now weighs 170 kilograms which is actually 4 kilograms more than the current motorcycle.
Now the slightly less powerful RC200 continues with the same underbelly exhaust. However the sports motorcycle gets an updated graphics. The rear pillion seat on the other hand 12 mm thicker than in the old motorcycle. The motorcycle also gets a new Orange and White paint scheme.
Coming to the powertrains the RC390 gets the same 373.3 cc single cylinder liquid cooled, fuel injected unit. This engine is capable of producing about 43.5 PS of maximum power at 9,000 rpm and 36 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine is coupled to a 6 speed gearbox. Although the engine hasn’t received any power upgrade but the torque amount has increased by 1 percent.
As far s the safety of the rider is concerned the RC390 gets ABS as standard while the RC200 does not even gets ABS as optional.
The RC200 continues with the same 199.5 cc, single cylinder, fuel injected unit which is capable of producing 25 PS of maximum power at 10,000 rpm and 19.2 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. The engine too is coupled to a 6 speed gearbox.
As already mentioned earlier the both the motorcycle will be launched within the next couple of months here in the Indian market.
