Now if we talk about the range of motorcycles available in under than 2 Lakh rupees then there are plenty of options available. This is a competitive segment and we can call it a segment where you find motorcycles which give you a chance to take a step ahead from being amateur rider to a much more matured rider. Honestly this is where you get your hands on some serious entry level performance motorcycles which separate you from the rest of the riders out there on the road.

Below provided are the list of 5 motorcycles which are sporty enough but also does not burn a hole in your pocket.

Bajaj Pulsar AS200

This is perhaps the basic entry level motorcycle of this range. The AS200 which is actually a semi faired variant of one of the most popular entry level performance motorcycle from Bajaj called the NS200. The AS200 employs the same 199.5 cc, liquid cooled engine which is able to make about 23.5 ps of peak power and 18.3 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 6 speed manual gearbox. Now managing the 23.5 ps of peak power is not a kid’s play but thanks to Bajaj all that power is quite manageable. The semi faired AS200 is one sporty motorcycle while the fairing with that windshield on top of it adds a tourer feel to that motorcycle. The AS200 is priced at INR. 91, 550 (ex showroom Delhi) and is the most affordable motorcycle of this price range.

Bajaj RS200

The Bajaj RS200 uses the same perimeter frame like the AS200 which actually originated from the NS200 and just like the AS200 uses the same 199.5 Liquid cooled engine. But this engine is slightly more refined than that of the AS200 because of the fuel injection that is installed in the RS200 variant. The fuel injection along with three separate spark plugs ensures optimum fuel combustion and also increases the overall performance of the motorcycle. The result is an increase of 1 ps of power that’s right! The same engine produces about 24.5 Ps of peak power and 18.5 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 6 speed gearbox. This motorcycle is equally fast and can attain a top speed of 141 km/h mark which is quite impressive. The RS200 is priced slightly higher than the AS200, the prices for the RS200 starts at INR. 1.21 Lakh (ex showroom Delhi) while the ABS equipped variant is priced at 1.33 Lakhs (ex showroom Delhi).

The Duke 200 has to be the most desired motorcycle of this lot because it not only comes from an International two wheeler manufacturer but also is one of the most colorful looking motorcycles of its segment. The Duke 200 was launched in the Indian market back in 2012 and since then it has attracted the attention of all the young motorcycle enthusiast of the country. The AS200 is powered by the 199.5 cc Single-cylinder, 4-stroke, spark-ignition unit. This liquid-cooled engine is capable of producing about 25 Bhp of peak power 19.2 Nm of torque. The engine e is paired to a 6 speed manual gearbox. 0-100 sprint takes just 9.52 seconds which is also quite impressive. The prices for the Duke 200 starts at 1.44 Lakhs (ex showroom Delhi) which makes it slightly more expensive than the Bajaj’s flagship offering the RS200.

Mahindra Mojo

The Mojo is definitely the most interesting bike of the lot. It has taken Mahindra a long time in the developmental process of this motorcycle. It was showcased first at the Auto Expo 2012 and now has entered the 250-350 cc market to take on its rivals. The Mahindra Mojo is powered by a four stroke, single cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine which is capable of producing about 27 Ps of peak power and 30 Nm of torque. If you are looking for a tourer then perhaps you might get inclined towards this motorcycle but this is definitely not the best option if you are planning to cover long distance. The brakes lacks bite and the long wheelbase makes things worse for the rider specially at bends but the suspension setup, the dual exhaust setup and the sticky Pirelli tyres helps the vote to go in favor of the motorcycle. Priced at 1, 63, 000 ex showroom Delhi this motorcycle will surely impress you if you are looking for a sporty tourer within a budget.

The RC200 is definitely one of the most exciting motorcycle of the lot and why it won’t be. The RC200 is basically a faired variant of the duke200 bit the story does not ends there. KTM went a step ahead and tweaked the suspension setup as well which make this motorcycle more purposeful. The RC200 gets an upside down fork with less travel for a more solid handling. The head angle of the steel trellis frame has also been raised by 66, 5 degrees which resulted in shorter trail. The light alloy wheel . The KTM RC200 has also been fitted with a brake system which has been developed in association with Brembo, towards the front it gets single 300mm diameter brake disk while towards the rear it gets a floating piston caliper with a single 230 mm disc brake.

If you want a sportsbike which you can ride both on track as well as on road then there is no better offering than the KTM RC200. It tops our range of list of sporty motorcycles priced under the 2 Lakh rupees and definitely is also the most desirable motorcycle of this list.
