Mahindra Mojo is the flagship motorcycle model of Mahindra two wheeler manufacturer which was unveiled way back in the year 2010. Mahindra Mojo is a 300cc, single cylinder streetbike which was expected to launch at the early 2011 but somehow it did not happen, but speculations that are going all around surrounding the bike, it is hoped that we shall be able to welcome this bike after a few more months. It is being talked about that Mojo is going to get a makeover before it is launched, well we do not have the pictures of the re-vamped Mojo but we are providing the informations based on the Mojo that was unveiled in the year 2010. Mojo has been given a retro styling and is powered by a 4V, DOHC engine which offers a dream output with a peak power of 26 BHP @ 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 24 Nm @ 7000 rpm via a 5 speed gearbox.
Mahindra Mojo is a bike which has been given a retro and classic styling with a contemporary twist. The look is highly masculine with curves and edges together and some dashes of gold color makes it look out of the world. The front of Mojo has twin circular headlamps with LED pilot lamps integrated in them, The 2010 model which was unveiled did not had any fairing but it is talked about that the upcoming model will be having a full sporty fairing too. The styling of Mojo which was revealed in 2010 is going to be changed totally and it is being heard that the new designing shall be very different from the present one. It seems that this move by the company shall turn out successful in terms of styling as people nowadays prefer to buy trendy looking bikes rather than the classic ones. However, it has not been officially been declared by Mahindra whether they have already initiated the styling process or not.
It is hoped that Mojo will not receive any changes on its engine front and shall retain the same 4V, 300cc, DOHC engine which shall churn out a peak power of 26bhp at 8500rpm and a peak torque of 24Nm at 7000rpm. The power and torque shall be produced via a 6 speed gearbox unlike what is found in the other bikes of its category. The engine shall be added with an electronic fuel injection system (EFI) which comes developed from the Ducati Energia of Italy.
Ride and Handling
Mojo shall come equipped with upside down forks suspension for the front and monoshock suspension for its rear. The braking system of Mojo consists of a 320mm front disc and 220mm rear disc brake. It is to be seen that how much points does Mojo score in terms of ride and handling.
Mojo shall directly compete with the bikes like the recently launched KTM Duke 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300. It also poses a challenge towards the yet-to-be launched Bajaj Pulsar 375.
The price is yet to be declared and it is expected that Mahindra shall be seen pricing the bike modestly and also the bike creates a stir amongst its segment which shall well justify the delay of the long-waited launch.
