Bold design exciting new features and the inclusion of all new i3s technology
Hero Motocorp has launched the all new Achiever iSmart in India; this will replace the existing Achiever in the Indian market. This is the fourth product after the recently introduced Hero Splendor 110 iSmart which was developed and manufactured completely by Hero without any7 assistance from Honda.
The new motorcycle from Hero will help the two wheeler manufacturer to make their presence felt in the premium segment. They already have their strong foothold in the 100cc & 125cc segments in the domestic market with their Splendor and passion series of motorcycles.
Coming to the motorcycle the Achiever 150 has been completely developed in-house in their Centre of innovation R&D centre in Jaipur. This is also where Hero’s future products will also be developed. The motorcycle promises to make a bold statement in the 150 cc segment with its completely new styling and also the new BS-iv compliant engine which also features Hero’s patented i3s technology. The motorcycle also promises to deliver an amazing ride experience too at the same time.

Talk about styling and definitely the new Achiever shines in this category. The motorcycle which will replace the existing motorcycle gets a new bold design. Towards the front the motorcycle gets a newly redesigned headlamp cluster and also a completely redesigned bigger visor. The headlamp gets auto headlamp on feature which is a new addition for this segment.
The instrument cluster too has been redesigned and it now gets part analogue part digital instrument cluster.
The side profile of the motorcycle gets a bulging fender with an additional cowl. Talking about the fuel tank this newly designed tank gets a flush type lid. While the rear profile gets redesigned taillamp, RR grip and a new muffler cover as well.
All in all the new changes has not only given the motorcycle a bold stance but also premium-ness to the motorcycle which was lacking earlier.

The new Hero Achiever gets a completely new BSIV compliant 150 cc, single cylinder air cooled TOD (Torque on Demand) engine. This engine is capable of producing about 13.6 PS (10 kW) of peak power at 8000 rpm and maximum torque of 12.8 Nm at 5000 rpm. The improved engine is paired to a 5 speed gearbox. What is even more interesting is also the fact that the new and improved engine also features Hero patented i3S (Idle-stop-start system) technology which will help improve its fuel efficiency figures by large extent.
This technology helps in improving the overall fuel efficiency in the urban stop-go traffic situation. Beside that the new and improved engine promises to provide impressive performance and more power, torque and acceleration at the same time.

RIDE AND HANDLING
The Achiever is built on a tubular diamond type frame chassis and uses telescopic hydraulic shock absorber at the front and a swing arm with an adjustable shock absorber at the rear. For stopping power the motorcycle relies on a disc brake towards the front and drum brakes towards the rear for stopping. There is also a non disc brake variant of the motorcycle available as well.

The 2017 Hero Achiever 150 iSmart is priced at INR 61,800 (ex-Showroom, New Delhi) for the drum variant and INR 62,800 (ex-Showroom, New Delhi) for the variant with a front disc brake.
Yamaha launched the new SZ RR Version 2.0 in India last year and it was launched with fewer cosmetic updates and slightly refined engine. Powering the new motorcycle is a single cylinder, air cooled, 149cc engine which is capable of producing about 12.0 bhp of power and 12.8Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a five speed gearbox.
Bajaj Pulsar is a renowned name in the 150 cc segment of motorcycles. There is no denying in the fact that this is one of the oldest motorcycles of this segment which is still preferred as one of the important rivals in this segment. The motorcycle is powered by four stroke, single cylinder, air cooled, 149cc DTS-i engine, which now pumps out a slightly higher power output of 15.06 PS and a maximum torque output of 12.5 Nm. The engine is mated to a five speed gearbox.
The new Achiever has been priced aggressively which is definitely one of the plus points of this motorcycles. According to Hero this motorcycle handles like any other 100-125 cc commuter motorcycles but offers power of a 150 cc motorcycle. The additional i3s technology too will be extremely beneficial for the motorcycle in terms of fuel efficiency. The new digital analogue instrument cluster, auto headlamp on feature gives it a premium feel as well.
There is no doubt in the fact that the new 150 cc motorcycle from Hero definitely has enough juice in keeping the customers happy.
