Karizma set the Indian bike standard quite high when it was launched way back in the year 2003. Then as time passed the motorcycle styling became bit dated and people started switching onto some other popular brands that was available in the Indian market. Hero realized then that it was time to update their 200 cc plus motorcycle so instead of updating the old Karizma they launched a completely new motorcycle christened as Karizma ZMR which was sold alongside the original motorcycle. The Karizma ZMR definitely looked much more modern and updated compared to the old Karizma but inside it was just a faired version of the Karizma.
In the year 2014, Hero updated both their flagship motorcycle the Karizma and the ZMR, we have already given you our first impression of the Karizma now it is time to give you all the details of the updated Karizma ZMR which definitely looks different from its predecessor and above all it even gets more power, thus it will definitely add the thrill to your daily ride. Powered by an air cooled, 4- stroke single cylinder OHC, Fuel Injected engine this motorcycle surely has now become a strong contender with improved visual appeal and more power.

Take a look at it and you will notice the notable differences between the previous Karizma ZMR and the newly launched one, all the extra weight of the bulky old Karizma has been shade off and it now looks more slimmer than the old bike. The single headlamp unit gets replaced by the dual headlamps placed one above the other and the two LED positioned headlamps seems to be a thoughtful approach by the company as it not only makes the bike look sportier. The positioning of the lamps adds a unique look to the bike, the front visor looks comparatively bigger and even more aerodynamic and hides the instrument console and holds the body colored rear view mirrors. However the instrument cluster has been carried over from the old motorcycle the only extra addition comes in the form of a side stand warning indicators and real time mileage indicator.
The most interesting and catchy part of this bike is the inclusion of the side body panels and the work of the graphic all over it that covers the engine too leaving a small part exposed. However, the panels get new design and the fuel tank is more prominent and comes as sculpted. The tail lamps get a new sleek design with LED bulbs and a pair of winkers. Coming to the seats they look quite comfortable and cushioned but this time Hero has added the split seats which adds to the sporty quotient of the motorcycle. The previous model of this bike displayed a bronze colored exhaust, but this time it has got the regular metallic one. The wider tyres at the rear of the bike enhance the overall look of the bike and give it an upright stance too.
Quite honestly we didn’t liked the front styling of the motorcycle but because it did loose the visual mass from its side profile this motorcycle now definitely looks better than its predecessor.
The Karizma ZMR is powered by the air cooled, 4- stroke single cylinder OHC, fuel injection, oil cooler engine; the engine displacement though remained the same at 223 cc but it now produces more power. The fuel injected engine now generates 20 bhp of peak power at 8000 rpm compared to 17.6 bhp in the old Karizma ZMR and torque output of 19.7 Nm at 6500 rpm compared to 18.35 Nm on the old motorcycle. According to the manufacturer this motorcycle has an overall top speed of 129 km/h mark.
SUSPENSION AND BRAKING
The updated Hero Karizma ZMR still uses the diamond type frame and is fitted with the same telescopic hydraulic shock absorber suspension at its front and swing arm with 5 step adjustable GRS system suspension for its rear. So under all those fairings it is the same old story so dont expect any improvement on this new Karizma ZMR when it comes to handling but now that all the extra visual mass is gone the updated ZMR overall weight has been reduced by almost 2 kilograms which will definitely help in the overall handling plus the use of wider rear tyres will definitely give the rider some more confidence for sure.
The bike comes to an instant halt because of the usage of the disc brakes both at its front and rear.

Bajaj Pulsar 220 is powered by a 4-stroke, DTS-i, oil cooled, single cylinder 220 cc engine and produces a power of 21.05 Ps at 8500rpm and a torque of 19.12 Nm at 7000rpm. Apart from great design, this bike also gets a DTSi technology that makes the bike fuel efficient.
