Expect the new motorcycle to hit Indian market towards the end of 2016 or early 2017

TVS Motors confirmed the source that they will be launching their new 310 cc motorcycle in the Indian market before the end of this fiscal year. According to the reports TVS is actually looking for some sales volume. This launch is part of their latest strategies to touch 15 percent market shares within this year. The TVS official also said that their major goal right now is to increase the sales volume which in turn will help bring down the component costs and improve their profit.

The 310 cc motorcycle is the production variant of the Akula concept which was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. This will most probably be called the Apache RTR 300 and will be positioned above the recently introduced Apache RTR 200 4V. The production variant of the Akula 310 Concept will use the same platform which has been jointly developed with the German two wheeler manufacturer BMW Motorrad and this platform also supports the BMW G310R.

Besides the platform the powertrain too was also developed under the Indo-German alliance. The soon to be launched Apache RTR 300 will be powered by the same 313 cc, single cylinder motor which is expected to produce about 34 Bhp of peak power and approximately 28 Nm of torque. The engine will be paired to a 6 speed transmission as well. This will also be TVS first fully faired sportsbike as well.

If everything goes according to plan expect the new TVS motorcycle which will also be their flasgship offering to hit the Indian market towards the end of 2016 or early 2017.
