This is the new TVS Apache RTR 300

Quite honestly! I had first mistaken this motorcycle for a camouflaged Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 because if you take a look at this spyshot the new motorcycle looks similar to the RS200. But this is actually not the RS 200 but the prototype of the upcoming TVS Akula 310 which was showcased for the first time at the 2016 Auto expo.

This will be TVS Motors’s first ever fully faired motorcycle for the Indian market and also will be their most powerful product as well for India (spec wise). The prototype was caught testing recently on the outskirts of Bangalore and it was wrapped in heavy camouflage. Although the spyshot showed only the front profile of the motorcycle it revealed quite a lot of interesting details though.

Expect the upcoming production variant of the TVS Akula 310 to borrow its overall styling heavily from the Akula 310 Concept showcased at the Auto show. Towards the front the faired motorcycle gets duel headlamps which most probably will get projector headlamps setup as well, while it will also come with a small windscreen which will protect the riders from heavy windblasts at higher speeds.

The production variant of the Concept is based on the newly developed BMW G310R’s platform and will also use the same powertrain. Expect the production variant of the concept which will most probably be called Apache RTR 300 to be powered by the newly-developed 313 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor which is expected to produce around 34 hp of peak power at 9,500 rpm and about 28 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. This engine will be paired to a 6-speed transmission.

Now do not get too upset because Honda will be not be launching the CBR 250 RR in India but rather you can actually save money for this brilliant machine which too is expected to pack aggressive looks and outright performance.
