Doesn’t get AHO or BS-IV but gets three new shades.

DSK Hyosung might not be the favourite brand in town, but they have some serious potential machines that could give a stiff stare to the competition. One of them is the Hyosung Aquila 250 that was launched in 2014. Doing so, it officially became the most affordable V-twin cruiser available in India today.

For 2107, the bike received an update with three new colour options and this updated version is set to be a limited run of only 100 units. There are however no mechanical changes on this and also seems to miss out on the Automatic Headlamp On feature that seems to come on all the updates by other manufacturers. Neither is the engine BS-IV compliant.

A good seating posture, comfortable seats, wide handlebars powerful engine and lots of chrome the Aquila 250 has it all. For those who love a retro styled cruiser will especially prefer the retro tail lamps and the placement of clear lens side turn indicators at the rear of the cruiser. The cruiser also comes fitted with wide rear tyres which complete the overall look of the cruiser.

The best thing about this Cruiser is its low seat height and wide handlebars which make manoeuvring easy when you are not riding it. As mentioned before, this update does not come with the AHO feature. This tells us that this update was only to be a stock clearance exercise.

This updated version continues to be powered by a new 249cc, V-twin, oil-cooled engine which generates 26.2bhp of maximum power at 9500rpm and 21 Nm of torque at 7500 rpm. The fuel injected engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine is not BS-IV compliant which makes us believe that DSK wants to clear all BS-III motors before April after which the BS4 compliance will become mandatory.

The update/limited edition motorcycles will be made available at all their dealerships for a price of ₹2.94 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), same as their existing model. The new colour options available are Matte Green, Carbon Black, and Desert Brown along with the existing regular shades of Red/Black, All Black and White.

At the announcement, Shirish Kulkarni, Chairman, DSK Motowheels said, “The DSK Hyosung Aquila 250 has been a high-demand cruiser in the sub-500cc market segment. In order to mark its success, we are proud to announce 100 limited edition units of the Aquila 250 which will be available in three trendy colours including matte green, carbon black and desert brown. We have partnered with various financial institutions to provide interest free loans for all the motorcycles on offer in the DSK Hyosung line-up.”
