TVS already offers the sporty Ntorq in the 125cc segment but have brought in the Jupiter in a new 125cc avatar in order to cater to a wider set of audience including those looking at a ’family scooter’. The segment already has offerings like the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125 and the Hero Maestro / Destini 125 models. The segment leader here is the Activa 125 and TVS has priced the Pleasure in the same ball park as well. Three variants of the new Jupiter 125 are on sale with prices starting at Rs 73400, ex-showroom Delhi.

The scooter gets powered by a new 125cc motor with fuel injection and ’intelliGO’ feature that aims to improve fuel economy through automatic start-stop in traffic conditions. Although the company has not revealed any figures in terms of mileage, the launch video repeatedly showcases the on-board display registering 63kmpl. Infact, TVS claims this is the most fuel efficient scooter in the segment! The engine makes 8.15 PS of power which is fractionally lower than Activa’s 8.3 PS output. On the other hand, the Jupiter 125 offers higher torque of 10.5 Nm at a lower rpm of 4500. This should make it a better urban scooter with punchier mid-range.

TVS is claiming the Jupiter to be a feature loaded offering. It offers the largest under-seat space that is enough to swallow in two helmets. It also has the longest seat (we all know Indians love to travel 3 up sometimes!), LED headlamp and front fuelling for added practicality. The semi-digital speedometer console also offers real time as well as average fuel economy displays. There is also a front mobile charger and the Jupiter 125 has the highest leg space among its rivals. So if you see comfort, this one could be your choice in the 125cc scooter space.

The Jupiter is available in three colour options as of now. These include Dawn Orange, Indiblue and Titanium Grey. Surprisingly white isn’t an option yet - this is one colour that is famous with Activa owners. You can also pick from three versions that include the base drum variant, drum with alloys and lastly, the disc (front) with alloys model.
