Codenamed “Urbanite", the company is planning to build a hot of EVs by 2020.
The Pune based manufacturer has been in the news for a lot of reasons, and most often than not, it is a good one. With the latest being the eyebrow-raiser Triumph-Bajaj global partnership, Bajaj is making the right moves to get ahead of the competition soon enough.
Now, fresh information from the industry sources is pointing out at the firm’s newfound love for alternative fuel powered vehicles, most probably being electric. Coined as "Urbanite", the new project will aim at developing upmarket products in the electric vehicle segment.
The British brand is on track with putting the race-spec 765cc engine through its paces.
Back in June this year, the British motorcycle manufacturer had announced their entry into the world of motorsports by replacing Honda as the engine manufacturer for the Moto2 Motorcycles from the 2019 season.
Making use of the talented 765cc Triumph Street Triple engine, the folks at the racing department are putting all their resources into tuning this three pot motor into a dedicated Moto2 worthy engine. With multiple enhancements and developments underway, the engine has successfully being tested with the second track test at the Ciudad del Motor de Aragón by Julian Simon, 2009 125cc World Champion, Moto2 runner-up and experienced Moto2 test rider.
A new chapter in Ducati’s rich lineage of engines and the 1103cc plant screams at the top of its voice at 14000 rpm.
In what will go down as the biggest shift for the company, Ducati officially launched its four cylinder V4 Desmosedici Stradale engine at the Misano World Circuit on Thursday, 7th September 2017.
It will be replacing the Superquadro twin-cylinder which is having its final run on the mighty 1299 Panigale R Final Edition. The first motorcycle it will run on will be the Ducati Panigale V4 to be unveiled November 5, 2017.

A rider is not born but is made. There is absolutely no harm in accepting that you are not the best rider and that there is always a better rider out there. But, that does not mean you don’t improve on it. You just ride more and try matching synergies with your motorcycle.

The Italian’s newfound love for four-pot sounds prodigious.
Like all good things coming to an end, the L-twin Brobdingnagian motor that is currently running on all street Ducati]s’ is also spurting towards the end and is being replaced by a V4 engine currently being developed for the Italian’s brand new fully faired superbike. It made its final act with the recently launched 1299 Panigale R Final Edition.

Carberry Motorcycles has been the new kid on the block for the custom scene in the country. The company that was the brainchild of an Australian chap, Paul Carberry, started ‘Dream Engines and Modifications (DEM)’ which started production in 2016 at Bhilai, Chattisgarh.
Their first product was christened as the ’Double Barrel’, an engine that gets the long 90mm stroke engine inherited from RE and uses the cylinders, heads and choice of 4 or 5-speed gearbox from RE. The company has just launched this new engine for enthusiasts around the world for ₹ 4.96 lakh. But there is a small catch here, its just not yet available for everybody.
The company commissioned a new line in the existing plant in Karnataka which makes it the biggest Honda plant in the world.
Honda entered the Indian market in 2001 with two scooters - a segment which was believed to be taking its last breath at the time of their arrival. Against all the odds, both the scooters - Activa and Dio - went on churning a large number of volumes for their parent company, which went on to become the second largest two wheeler manufacturer in the Indian market.
The company has come a long way since then and are on fire to go reach even higher heights. In the process, the Japanese Red has, together with its allied suppliers, invested ₹ 5400 crores into the Karnataka plant in Narasapura that just became the biggest two wheeler manufacturer for Honda in the entire world.

Both Japanese technology giants will co-develop electric powertrain systems for vehicles of the future.
Honda has always been at the forefront of technology and is a major player in the world of artificial intelligence, robotics and big data. Now fresh new information has cropped up suggesting that the Japanese Red is getting serious about developing electric vehicles and so is being busy partnering with another technocrat, Hitachi Automotive Systems.
As a matter of fact, both these companies had signed a memorandum of understanding earlier this year in February and they have escalated those talks by signing in for a joint venture partnership in March. They have christened the JV as Hitachi Automotive Electric Motor Systems, and it will be heeding to develop, manufacture and sales of motors for electric vehicles, both for Honda and other players.

These bespoke builds are the souped-up version of the Continental GT and the Himalayan, and they call them ‘The Surf Racer’ and ‘The Gentleman Brat’.

The British manufacturer announces its entry into the world of Grand Prix
There is ‘motorcycle’ and then there is ‘motorcycle racing’. Each of them has a different meaning for every manufacturer. And being associated with the latter is a form of prestige to them. The term ‘motorcycle racing’ was coined the day the second motorcycle was ever made and since then, the world of racing has seen a great deal of competition and rivalry amongst manufacturers and builders, all vying for the glory of unadulterated use of power and the pride of being at the top of their game.
The FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix is the premier class of motorcycle road racing held since 1949. The Grand Prix is categorised into three formats - MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3. All manufacturers put all their resources into running the best of their machines on the world stage and claim for the ultimate crown.
Now, Triumph has officially announced their entry into the world of motorsports and are readying to replace Honda as the engine manufacturer for the Moto2 Motorcycles from the 2019 season. And they are doing it with the dedicated race tuned 765cc Triumph triple engine, based on the powerplant from the all-new 2017 Triumph Street Triple.
What a tiny 150cc motor could be capable of is left for the imaginations. Add a turbo and you are getting somewhere.
When the YZF - R15 rolled in 2008, Yamaha gathered enough success as it managed to capture the market leader boards. It gave us a product that was like a gateway for riders to get into the motorsport arena with this fully faired motorcycle having a powerful 150 cc mill. A lot of young riders opted for this superbike looker having a decent engine with high levels of refinement Yamaha is known for. It received a facelift in 2011 and the R15 V2.0 received a lot of pomp and fair due to its striking design which now looked even sharper with very acute angles from every corner of the motorcycle. Off late, the R15 lost its lustre because of the insane amount of competition but there is one guy who finds it hard to believe because what he has will blow your mind.
A tuning shop in Thailand has an answer to everything speed. Be it a mere 150cc starter kit motorcycle, they have turned the R15 V2.0 into an 180 kph speed demon that can do a 0-100 kph in just under 3.3 seconds! Isn’t your mind blowing places now?

An engine swap is done basically if your old engine fails or if you want more horses, efficiency and performance under the hood. But here are two chaps who have upgraded their old charming Vespas into a monster truck of two wheelers by getting it a Harley Davidson engine and a Diesel powerhouse. To do so, they have each built custom engine mounts and transmission bell housing adaptors to interface them along with a custom built driveshaft. Then you have that big-ol radiator to cool things down and, of course, that exhaust note.

It will be a purposefully limited edition hand built motorcycle by the blokes at BMW, which will itself be a notch higher than the brand’s superstar, the S 1000RR-HP4. With a full carbon fibre twin-spar main frame and rims that are made in the same factory that makes carbon fibre components for BMW’s iconic ‘i-series’ and 7 series of cars.

Honda made everyone sweat when they launched the CBR900RR in 1992 having huge power numbers and weighing lesser than the closest competitor. For the Fireblade’s 25th anniversary, Honda has gone big with the updated engine, chassis, electronic suspension and a whole bunch of rider aids package all combined with the hefty weight loss giving the rivals a run for their money.
Yesterday, the Japanese Red launched the screaming CBR 1000 RR Fireblade in all pomp and fanfare.
The company plans to roll out two new products every year.
Hero Electric has been the sub-brand of Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer. The company is a multi-product and a multi-location enterprise with interests in Electric Vehicles, Bicycles and Healthcare. With the newfound interest in electric powertrains, Hero has made strides in this direction and are betting big on the technology.
It has been launching electric two-wheelers for some time now and has sold over 1 lakh customers. They, however, were not market spec vehicles like the Tork T6X or Ather S340 and were very underpowered. Now, they have tied up with the German Technology giant, Bosch, to get things around for them.
