Honda has confirmed they will be launching the CB300R in India very soon and bookings are open now for a sum of Rs 5000. The bike will only be sold via Honda Wing World Dealers and the bike will be imported into India as CKD (completely knocked down) kits. The Honda CB300R price in India will also be under Rs 2.5 lakh.
The price communication comes in the official mail sent out by Honda to the media today. We feel this is unjustified pricing for a 300cc machine, one that does not even have a full fairing. Rivals offer better value in this regard. That said, the bike sells for just over Rs 3 lakh internationally and Honda must be working hard to get a sub Rs 2.5 lakh price for India.
The CB300R comes with a single cylinder 286cc motor that is good for 31 bhp of power and 27.5 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox with a possible top speed in excess of 150 km/h. In contrast, Honda’s own CBR250 puts out 26 bhp of power and 22.9 Nm of torque. Hence, these are good figures in our opinion.
What is unique is that the CB300R will only be sold via Wing World dealers and this will surely give a premium feel to the customer. Features on the bike will include a full digital console, LED lights, ABS, inverted forks and liquid cooling.
