They are touted as the world’s largest manufacturer of custom motorcycle builder of high-performance on-road cruisers and choppers since its inception in 1944. The chopper style of motorcycles are perhaps the most extreme of all custom styles, often using radically modified steering angles and lengthened forks for a stretched-out appearance, which has been the dream American projects since the ‘60s. Till date, there are close to 30000 Big Dog Motorcycles that run on streets across the globe and the most interesting part of this story is that none of the bikes resemble the other. All their builds are a ‘one off’.
Although the concept of custom motorcycles is still at a very nascent stage in India, outfits such as Vardenchi Motorcycles and Rajaputana Customs will chop your motorcycle for you and give it a whole new outlook that suits your individual tastes; handcrafted and visual cynosures. Big Dog has now entered Indian territories and will do the same for you but in a factory setting; mass produced.
