Although it is the smallest bike from BMW, when it comes to performance, it is anything but small. Perfect for a handful of folks new to motorcycles, it is a rocket trainer for the experienced purists and is sure hell lot of fun for everyone riding on this machine. The combination of being lightweight and having a real powerhouse has always won the wars for every manufacturer, and this is no exception.

BMW Motorrad is keeping the baby Beemer away for 6 more months at least.

The whole world knows about BMW’s new mini streetfighter, the G 310 R. This single cylinder world bike produced here in India by TVS, is running on city streets across many foreign markets ever since it began production early this year. Production is in full swing and TVS Motor Company has begun with exporting the bike to several foreign markets as BMW Motorrad has made India home to their low capacity models.

Although the bike is out of testing and production, BMW is still hesitant to launch the bike in our markets due to reasons not made official. BMW was touted to launch this motorcycle here a couple of months ago, but according to the source, they have postponed it by at least more than 6 to 7 months, which puts the launch date in our country only in 2018.

Watch Sarah Lezito take up the Park N Ride Challenge on the BMW G 310 R

A late-night car park race with bikes and longboards. That sounds like fun – and like Sarah.

There are many women taking up riding now and unlike before it is no more a taboo as perceived by society. Then there are those few who kick out all norms and do what they believe in. Enter Sarah ‘Lezito’ Vignot. A girl who has been gifted with a bank of talent to dance around with a machine on two-wheels. Where, for some, balancing on two wheels becomes a task, Sarah takes it to a different level altogether.

In this new video, she goes on a downhill race in the car park with bikes and longboards. Starting at the top of a multi-storey car park, three bikes along with people on longboards partner up and race down the building in a fun filled activity created by BMW Motorrad. And obviously, she is seen riding the BMW G 310 R.

NOTE: We do not endorse/promote stunt riding on public roads. Always consider safety first and wear a helmet and all riding gear.

BMW G 310 R vs KTM Duke 390 vs Benelli TNT 300 vs Mahindra Mojo

Battle of the naked middleweights enters 2017. Get ready for a lot of flash-bangs.

Strap yourself up to your seat guys. Things are going to get wild here. 2017 saw the launch of the brand new KTM Duke 390 that is said to wipe out any competition there has ever been. Later in the year, the German brand BMW Motorrad will be launching its smallest motorcycle, the G 310 R which is manufactured here in India by TVS. These two machines will change the face of the middleweight naked sports segment which until now had the Mahindra Mojo and the foreigner Benelli TNT 300 from Italy.

We will sit down and chalk up a charge sheet to decipher the best machine you would want to invest in according to your needs and wish. Although the KTM is a notch above in all departments, we will have it here just for the sake of comparison. Mahindra is the least expensive of all and the Benelli is the only one with two cylinders and has that Italian flair that no one carries. The Beemer, on the other hand, is built for the world market and will remain to be a neutral contender in both style and performance compared amongst the rest here.

All the four motorcycles will have a condescending effect on the Indian two-wheeler market, and they have the fresh breed of entry-level naked performance motorcycles to blaze the much needed thrilling experience to enthusiasts and purists. Making motorcyclist get into a realm of more content and less bitter, here is all the help you would need to pick one for yourself:

BMW - TVS entering a new era of partnership.

BMW - TVS entering a new era of partnership.

The German will make India hub for small capacity motorcycles. TVS will gain R&D capability.

BMW Motorrad has not necessarily been a household name. With them costing a bomb to import and maintaining them was a nightmare for the complexity the Bavarian company had put into them. But things are up for a change as we speak and by the time you will be reading this piece, TVS is already producing a single cylinder G 310R for BMW in their Hosur plant in full swing.

It is generally a thing with BMW that once you buy their bike, they will pretty much be the brand you will buy for the rest of your life. But, the problem for BMW was that people who never owned one would never consider their motorcycle in their decision-making process. And there is a good point for ‘why?’. They made motorcycles which were simply too quirky, and by that, BMW purists know that it was that very stigma which pulled them into the motorcycle brand. For the rest of the crowd, those motorcycles were just not relevant to the traditional categories of segments.

Now that it is finally introduced that rumour actually came true the G 310 R based adventurer tourer actually was called G 310 GS and it not only borrows the initials but styling as well.
