Compared to some other motorcycles of Benelli’s lineup which are mostly naked streetfighter offerings the Tornado 302 is actually a fully faired sporstbike. This motorcycle is already available for sale in some of the other International markets.
If we talk about styling then the simple yet aggressive design will definitely attract the attention of the people. Towards the front the V shaped headlamps looks a little bigger compared to the rest of the motorcycle. Just above the headlamps you will find coloured stripes. While the U shaped windshield looks proportionate and helps give the motorcycle big bike look. That’s it about the front move to the side of the motorcycle and you will realise that it gets plenty of stickers in red to add some zing to the overall motorcycle. The main highlight of the motorcycle is definitely the exposed trellis frame finished in red. The trellis frame is completely new and it is actually lighter compared to the ones which support the naked streetfighter.
The seats on the motorcycle look plush and definitely will prove comfortable for the rider. The rear profile of the motorcycle looks subtle and the built in grab rail bar for the pillion riders too looks cleverly designed. Unlike the streetfighter sibling the Tornado 302 gets a proper exhaust which looks beautiful with the silver accents on them. The rear mudguard too is an interesting addition keeping the Indian roads in mind.
The Tornado 302 shares the same powertrain with the TNT 300 which means that it is powered by the 300 cc in-line two cylinder 4-stroke 4-valve DOHC, liquid cooled motor which is capable of producing about 36 Ps of peak power at 12, 000 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 9000 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6 speed gearbox. Benelli claims that the faired variant of the TNT 300 can actually hit a top speed of 170 km/h mark which is bit fancy number for a 300 cc motorcycle.

RIDE AND HANDLING
The suspension duties on the motorcycle are actually handled by upside down front telescopic forks and monoshock setup towards the rear. The braking duties on the motorcycle will be carried by twin 260 mm floating disc brakes towards the front and single 240 mm disc brakes towards the rear. ABS will be available as standard.
Expect the Benelli Tornado 302 to be priced slightly higher than its naked streetfighter variant. If everything goes according to plan then expect the motorcycle to be priced at around INR. 3.30 Lakhs ex showroom.
The YZF R3 is definitely the biggest rival of the Benelli Tornado 302 and why it won’t be? The R3 is powered by 2-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, 4 valves 321 cc engine which produces about 42 Ps of peak power at 10, 750 rpm and 26.9 Nm of torque at 9000 rpm. The fuel injected unit is paired to a 6 speed gearbox as well. The only bad thing is that that Yamaha has decided not to provide ABS with the motorcycle.
The RC390 on the other hand is the most powerful motorcycle compared to its rivals. The RC390 is powered by single cylinder, 4 stroke liquid cooled 373 engine which produces about 43.5 PS and 35 Nm of torque the engine is paired to a 6 speed gearbox. ABS comes as standard with the motorcycle.
