Hello people, stay alert. Caution for "Fast and Furious" lovers.
When the next Fast and Furious movie hits the theatres in April, 2017 brace yourself, as there will be Rally Fighters, Lamborghini Murcielagos, heavily modified Subaru Imprezas, armoured Dodge Ram trucks, couple of SUVs in military green, couple of Ripsaw bearing US Army badge and even golf carts tossed in the air. No wonder it will be a hell let loose in the beautiful and peaceful Island, where the major part of the movie is being shot.
Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham will be back again in the next Fast and Furious movie. Although, in the last movie we thought we won’t be seeing Dominic Toretto again, but we were wrong. Not only chapter 8, but there will be 9 and 10 as well releasing on 19th April, 2019 and 2nd April, 2021 respectively. The entire Fast and Furious crew and actors are now relocating in Iceland to shoot the 8th installment. Interestingly some photographs has been surfaced where we can see several cars are gathered in a port in USA for transportation. All these vehicles will be used in the Fast and Furious 8 shooting. Subaru is not a new player in Fast and Furious game, as in the Furious 7 they donated 7 Imprezas.
One of the prime public transport medium is bus. In 1662 the world first came to know the concept of bus, when Blaise Pascal launched a public bus service, which used to be called as carriage at that time. It was a public transport medium, convenient, affordable and within short time it became popular. Since then with time passed by, bus have became one of the most popular transport medium, be it for the daily commuting city rides, or be it inter city transportation; even at times the inter country rides also. In India, buses are the second most popular transport medium after the train, as this is considered as the cheap, affordable and convenient transport medium for so many people.
Earlier buses used to come as horse drawn carriages, while later the fuel powered buses came in the service. Now a days, even solar powered, electric powered buses are also coming up as a viable transport option. For an international traveler sometimes it needs a great effort to find a taxi, as they face the language problem, but they can easily recognize a bus for its familiar shape and structure. In the first half of the 20th century, public buses had a number of different designs, but it became more standardized by 1950s.
Here we have brought you some bizarre designed buses, seeing which you may say; “Buses are beautiful, buses are ugly.”
You have seen motorcycles jump in the air and even take a summersault; you might also have seen cars jump in the air and performing some insane stunts. But I am sure you haven’t seen a real truck jumping over a speeding F1 Car (except for the Terminator 2 movie but the stunt was performed with cables and wires so that does not really count). Yes! A Formula 1 racing car and a Truck is definitely no match but Lotus and EMC has actually made it possible.
You already have heard and also know about Lotus, they are a British car manufacturer who also has their own F1 Team which competed for the first time under the name back in the year 2012 while EMC on the other hand is a cloud computing and data management company which has collaborated with the Lotus F1 team and helps them with all the Data in their racing seasons. The video and the stunts that you are witnessing here have been performed to promote EMC and the person who is actually behind the wheels of that truck is Mike Ryan. Mike was able to lift the Truck in the air (with the help of a ramp) and then jump the huge truck about 83 feet and 7 inches over the speeding F1 car which was driven by Martin Ivanov.
Now this is really unique and one of a kind stunt which you won’t see everyday and I am sure you will love watching the video.
Tata Motors along with its partner Al-Hamad Automobiles has launched its three new next-generation heavy trucks from their PRIMA range of commercial vehicles in Qatar.
Tata Motors have already tested these next generation trucks to confirm whether they live up to the Gulf region standards in terms of power, durability, payload, emissions and safety. Tata Motors had formed the plan of Tata Prima in the year 2008 which has been now manufactured with various technical inputs from across the world – an Italian cab design, engine technology from the USA and Europe, gearbox expertise from Germany, chassis frame know-how from Mexico, sheet metal dies from Japan and Korea, combined with Swedish precision on a robotic weld line. This is why this truck is also referred to as the ’World’ truck.
The three model of Prima truck which were launched in Qatar are Tata PRIMA 4438S (4X2) tractor head, Tata PRIMA 4038K (6X4) Construction tipper and Tata PRIMA 4738K (8X4) On & Off Road tipper. All the three trucks retain their power from the latest drivetrain from Cummins Inc. The drivetrain produces a power output of 380HP, with transmission and axle technology from leading aggregate manufacturers across the world. The newly designed interiors of the trucks focuses on the driver’s comfort, the dashboard has been designed in the cockpit style, the cabin is air conditioned and has ample space, including reclining seats with arm rests for added comfort, an adjustable steering system and the GPS (Global Positioning System) comes as a standard feature.
Mr. Ravindra Pisharody, Executive Director, Commercial Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors said that the launch of Tata Prima trucks in Qatar is a very important milestone for the manufacturer as it gave them the chance to expand their business to Qatar as well as GCC region.
It was already confirmed that Tata was planning to enter the Australian, collaborating with an independent distributor, Fusion Automotive for dealer network, but we didn’t know the product line-up that Tata had in mind, until today. Tata has confirmed that they will be launching their one and only pickup truck. Xenon, in the month of October 2013, with more products slated for future release.
For Australia, the Xenon will be slotted in the LCV (light commercial vehicles) segment and will be available in 6 different variants, where customers can choose from a 4x2 or 4x4 wheel drive system, single or crew-cab body styles. The equipment level will not be altered, irrespective of the variant you choose.
The Australian spec of the Tata Xenon will have the same engine that powers the pickup in India too. The engine offered is a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder engine that generates 148 bhp of maximum power and 320 Nm of torque which is then mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox for transmission.
The Xenon trucks will come with the usual array of safety features like ABS, ESP and dual front airbags. The other tech on offer will be power steering and audio system with Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in connectivity.
It is expected that Tata motors will price the Tata Xenon under 35,000 Australian dollars (which is about INR 20.36 lakh at current exchange rates) and it will compete against Australia’s favorite, the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux and Nissan Navara, which are equally competent in the market.
In a country so obsessed with efficiency, practicality and buying the ‘right thing’, it would be awesome if we could get a vehicle something as ridiculously unnecessary and impractical but one which at the same time massages the ego as the Ford F-150. It’s not hard to see why the F-150 pickup truck has been such a hit in the US. The truck offers space for five, has huge towing and carrying abilities and is top value. The Ford F-150 is part of the F-Series Ford pickups that have been in production for 60 years. Conceived as a rugged no-frills workhorse, the Ford F-150 has morphed into a well-appointed, versatile pickup truck and it can be used by people with large land holdings or someone with a sense of adventure. Ford recently introduced a fully redesigned F-150 which boasts more power and new features and with the truck’s wide array of configurations you’re almost guaranteed of finding the right one for your needs. If at all the F-150 is brought into India and is assembled then prices would start from around Rs 18lakhs.
Sales of lifestyle Pickups are booming around the world but in India we are still waiting for manufacturers to launch them. It’s a farfetched thought when people consider these pickups to survive Armageddon along with cockroaches, but there’s a good chance you’ll see the Ford Ranger cruising around farm holdings in the next century too. The Ranger which forms the bases for the Endeavour SUV which is sold in India, is a compact pickup truck which has soldiered on with relatively few revisions for nearly three decades. Ford had displayed the Ranger at the Auto Expo even before it launched the Endeavour to gauge public reaction but the manufacturer hasn’t shown much interest in this segment since. Though Indian manufacturers have tried to explore the lifestyle pickup segment with the likes of the Tata Xenon and the Mahindra Getaway, both of which cost under 10lakhs, there is room in our market for something more niche and upmarket. If launched, the Ranger could be priced between 17 to 19 lakhs.
Jeep claims that their SUVs are the perfect off road vehicles and making them even more special and unique are the set of more than 1000 parts which you can buy as accessories. We had reported last month that Jeep, which is a part of the Chrysler group, now owned by Fiat, is planning to enter the Indian market and their first vehicle would be the Grand Cherokee. It is now almost certain that Jeep would be re-entering the Indian market either in 2012 or in the following year. “We recognise that Indian customers appreciate good value and we are keen to provide that with our Grand Cherokee,” said Jeep President and CEO Michael Manley, who is almost a regular visitor to India now. One of the pioneers of the SUV segment, the Grand Cherokee represents a bigger and better version of Jeep’s smaller Cherokee. The intent was to design a manoeuvrable SUV which would work well both in urban conditions and was also capable to reach remote campsites. Though the pricing of the SUV is still purely speculative, we expect it to be under 40lakhs.

The new truck will be the first one to be produced at the BharatBenz plant in Chennai which will start production in April 2012. In March 2012, BharatBenz will also present its entire range of trucks that will be spread between 6-49 tones.
