HYUNDAI ELANTRA

Hyundai recently launched the sixth generation Elantra which received plenty of exterior as well interior upgrades to its name. The sedan gets a 2.0 liter Nu MPI Atkinson 4 cylinder engine that generates about 152 Ps of peak power at 6200 rpm and 19.6 kgm of maximum torque at 4, 000 rpm. The other engine on offer is the 1.6 Litre U2 diesel unit which produces about 128 Ps of peak power at 4000 rpm and 26.5 kgm of torque at 1900-2750 rpm. Both the engines are paired to 6-speed manual transmission as standard while a 6-speed automatic transmission is offered as an option as well.

CONCLUSION

The Corolla is pricier than its rivals while the petrol variant offers plenty at this price point the diesel unit although is priced higher but gets a lower powered diesel unit while the equipment list is also limited in the diesel variant. The sale of the executive sedan has fallen significantly in the Indian market in the recent years hopefully this new facelift sedan will be able to impress the crowd.

  • Leave it
    • Diesel engine looks underpowered
    • touchscreen infotainment is optional on diesel variant
