Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched their first “Toyota Driving School” in Eastern India at Kolkata to promote their new safety mission ‘Safest Car with Safest Driver’. This entire campaign is being managed by Toyota’s leading dealership Topsel Toyota. Before Kolkata Toyota has already has setup 5 different schools across India but this happens to be Eastern zones first driving school and fifth all over India. The four other driving schools across India are present in Kochi, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Chennai.

The distinguished guests who were present on the occasion included Mr Suvendu Adhikari, Transport Minister, West Bengal, Mr Alapan Bandyopadhyay, Honorable Transport Secretary, Government of West Bengal,Mr Ashok Manaktala, Dealer Principal, Topsel Toyota, Mr Amit Manakatala, Director, Topsel Toyota and Mr N. Raja, Senior Vice President & Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor.

The Toyota driving school is an unique step taken by Toyota to improve the safety standards of the Indian road by making every student responsible and safe driver. The entire programme will provide comprehensive driver training by providing high quality and futuristic training approaches. Toyota has also made arrangements for training models like the driver simulator mechanism which is expected to deliver a realistic experience. The realistic driving simulator gets an actual steering wheel and seats from the original Etios car. The simulator is an important part of the training programme which is expected to provide a hand on experience on how to handle in car controls like steering wheel, accelerator, brakes and gear shifts. The simulator also can replicate various weather conditions as well including dim light, uphill and downhill terrain. This also happens to be the only simulator in India which gets Full High Definition Computer graphics in an immersive Curved Projection environment.

Toyota has finally decided to introduce the new generation Fortuner in India this November 2016.The new generation model shares or looks nothing like the old Fortuner, it even is based on a completely new and Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) platform which also underpins Innova and Hilux Revo pickup truck.

Before we go into any other details let us inform you all that the new Fortuner prices in India start from INR. 25.92 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Fortuner will compete directly with its all time biggest rival the Ford Endeavour which was introduced back in January 2016 and has been here in the Indian market for almost 11 months now. The all new SUV provides seating for 7 occupants inside, talking about interiors the New Fortuner gets an all new interior which provides more refinement and luxury inside.

The new Fortuner is made available with both the option of a petrol as well diesel engines which are paired to a 5 speed manual, 6 speed manual as ell as an automatic. Toyota will be launching the new generation Fortuner in India on 7th November 2016. Thus expect the bookings for the Ford Endeavor rival to commence within next few weeks.

Although we thought that Toyota will be launching the new gen Fortuner towards early next year but perhaps the less demand of the current generation model and strong competition from rival Ford Motors has prompted them to pre pone the launch date.

The new Fortuner underpins the same IMV platform which also supports the new Innova Crysta MPV which is already launched in India and received positive response from the people.

As far as the features are concerned the new Fortuner will get projector headlamps complete with LED lamps and integrated daytime running lamps, sharper overall styling, newly designed taillamps on the outside. While inside the SUV gets a redesigned dashboard which also has been equipped with a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system, this infotainments system also gets navigation system as well. Toyota has recently introduced the facelift variant of the new Etios twins in the Indian market. Both the hatchback as well as the Etios sedan received plenty of new updates which are worth looking at. In this new TVS Toyota highlights some of the new features that the Etios has received.

On its exterior the sedan has received a completely new grille and also a new sport front bumper as well. Towards the rear there is a chrome strip which runs along with the bootlid. Although there are not many changes on the outside but the sedan surely received quite significant changes inside the cabin. Inside the Etios sedan gets some new completely new upholstery which has been finished in Ivory. The instrument cluster too gets a new Optitron Combimeter which displays some essential information as well.

The car also features plenty of safety features as well which includes ABS with EBD and also dual airbags as standard. The sedan also features new dual ISOFIX child seat locks. The sedan also features 5 seat belts for the safety of the passengers. The front seat belts also gets Pre-Tensioner and Force Limiter (PTFL).

Under the hood the Etios Platinum sedan gets choices of both a petrol as well as diesel engine. The petrol variant is powered by 1.5-liter 16v DOHC unit while the diesel variant gets the 1.4-liter D-4D unit.

According to the recent reports it seems like Toyota will finally launch the new generation Fortuner in India this November. The new generation Fortuner is based on a completely new platform which also supports the Helux pickup and the Innova MPV as well.

The new Fortuner is also longer by almost 90 mm and wider by almost 15 mm than the existing SUV. But the wheelbase remains identical to the current generation SUV. The new Fortuner also has received some new cosmetic updates as well. The SUV dawns a completely new face which gets projector headlamps and integrated DRL setup as well. The new design language of the Toyota has made the front face look sharper and much more purposeful. The SUV also gets 19 inch wheels as well.

Just like the exterior the interior too has received some thorough change. The dashboard is completely new and features a high resolution touchscreen infotainment system. The SUV also provides seating for 7 occupants inside made possible with three row seats.

Under the hood the Fortuner will share the same drivetrains with the Innova MPV. The SUV will get two diesel engine options which include the 2.4 Litre and the 2.8 Litre four cylinder GD units. But it might also get a petrol unit on offer as well which was recently launched under the hood of the Innova. The entire engine lineup will be paired to a 6 speed manual as well as an automatic gearbox. The SUV will be offered with both two wheels as well as four wheel drive option as well.

The compact car segment has plenty of competition right now and their rivals are much more feature packed, stylish and economical offerings.The Etios sedan and the Liva hatchback have been here in the Indian market for a long time now and Toyota seriously needs to refresh these products in order to get a stronghold in the B-segment car market. Recently an updated Etios was caught while it was being tested and now its finally launched in our Indian market.

Before the Indian launch took place Toyota also unveiled the updated 2016 Etios sedan the Etios Liva hatchback in Brazil. The new car has also been dubbed as Etios Platinum.The newly launched Etios twins brought along with it plenty of updates on both their exterior as well as interior. After lot of speculation Toyota finally launched the Etios Platinum and the Etios Liva facelift in India. What is even more interesting is also the fact that with the launch of these new cars, Toyota has also made the announcement that from now on each and every car of theirs will be equipped with ABS and EBD as standard across all the grades.

The Etios Liva hatchback petrol variant is priced in between INR. 5.24 lakh to INR 6.28 lakh, while the diesel variant is priced in between INR 6.61 lakh to INR 7.44 lakh(ex showroom, Mumbai). The petrol variant of the Etios sedan on the other hand is priced in between INR 6.43 lakh to INR 7.83 lakh(ex showroom, Mumbai), while the diesel variants prices ranges from INR. 7.56 lakh to INR 8.96 lakh(ex showroom, Mumbai).

Both the Etios Liva hatchack and the Etios Platinum sedan facelift is offered with three grades namely VX, V and G, the ‘G’ being the top grade.

Talking about the changes both the hatchback and the sedan gets few exterior as well interior upgrades on their exterior. Both the car’s gets a completely new front grille, while it also gets a redesigned front and rear bumper as well. The front bumper now also houses new fog lamps as well and bigger air vents. The LIva hatchback also gets a completely new alloy wheels as well. While the Etios sedan facelift alongside all the other changes gets an additional chrome garnish and reflectors.

We have updated you in the past that Toyota Kirloskar Motors is all set to launch the facelift variant of the Etios twins on 13th September 2016. The Japanese auto manufacturer already launched the mid-life facelift variant of the Etios in the Brazilian market already and called it Etios Platinium Edition. Now Gaadiwaadi was able to get their hands on some images of the Indian facelift variant of the Etios Liva hatchback which will launch along with its sedan variant.

As far as the changes are concerned the updated Etios Liva gets a completely new V shaped grille which also gets Black inserts on them along with some chrome touches. The front bumper too looks sporty as well while there is also a round fog lamp integrated with the front bumper. While the rear profile gets a restyled chrome strip which runs through the length of the boot while the rear bumper too received some updates of its own. The new facelift variant will also get a newly designed 15 inch wheels as well.

The leaked images also give us a sneak peek inside the cabin of this new hatchback. The interior of the new Etios Liva gets a monotone interior. The steering wheel has been wrapped in leather though while the seat gets beige upholstery. Do not expect too many changes inside apart from the above mentioned changes. There is although a fair chance of Toyota introducing a touchscreen infotainment system with the top end facelift model though.
