Tata Motors Introduces AMT Gearbox On The Tiago Hatchback
There is no doubt that the Tiago hatchback has definitely enlisted its name in the Tata Motors successful list of products. But in order to stay in the competition and make their product even more attractive, the Indian Auto manufacturer introduced the AMT variant of the hatchback as well. The the TIAGO Easy-Shift AMT. Priced at INR 5.73 lakhs, (ex-showroom Mumbai) and INR 5.39 lakhs, (ex-showroom Delhi}.

We heard rumours of Tata Motors introducing the AMT variant of the Tiago and from what it seems like the rumours were actually true. Recently a leaked spec sheet gave away all the details that one needs about these soon to be launched Tata Tiago AMT variants.
The AMT variant of the Tiago was already spied earlier and it will be available with the petrol variant only. The Tiago AMT, when launched, will compete directly with the Alto K10 AMT and the Celerio AMT.
With the launch now almost near Team-BHP was able to get their hands on some leaked spec sheets of the Tiago AMT variant. To begin with, the AMT variant will be available with the top two variants only. The details leaked online said that the Tiago AMT will only be available with the top end XT and XZ trims.
Thus the AMT gearbox will be equipped only with the 1.2 Litre, 3 cylinder Revotron petrol unit capable of producing about 85 PS of peak power and 114 Nm. Apart from just the addition of the AMT gearbox, there won’t be any other changes to be made to the AMT equipped car. As far as the pricing is concerned to expect the AMT variant to be priced a tad bit higher than the manual variants.
After the Nano and the Zest, the Tiago will actually be the third model to be offered with AMT transmission.

Maruti-Suzuki testing S-Cross AWD in India
