Tata Motors recently announced their tie-up with Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives to build performance-oriented vehicles recently. Like we already reported earlier this partnership would fully concentrate on performance oriented cars based on Tata Motors current product lineup. For all your information these cars will be developed under JT special vehicles PVT limited. So before we head into anything else let us first inform you all that Jayem Automotives is an independent Automotive R & D Company who designs, tests and manufacture a broad range of automotive components. Now, this type of collaboration is quite common amongst Auto manufacturers while some build their own units like Mercedes-AMG GMBH popularly known as Mercedes-AMG who hires independent engineers and manufacturers to customize Mercedes own product lineup. After Mercedes Jaguar too started operating their own special operational vehicles division which too develops performance oriented cars based on their current product. Then there is Fiat and Abarth.
While the names mentioned above are some of the high-ends luxury carmakers Tata Motors, on the other hand, will focus on performance-oriented cars which will be affordable and well within reach of average Indian buyers. Tata Motors and Jayem Automotives will build a workshop which will also have a design, assembly and testing facilities all under one roof. Now the reports suggest that this new collaboration will atleast be developing three cars soon and below provided are the three expected Tata Cars which will be prepared under this new 50:50 joint venture.
Will launch the sportier variant of the Tiago instead
According to the latest report Tata Motors dismissed the plans of launching the more loaded version of the Bolt hatchback as of now. But do not get upset or sad instead of Tata launching the Bolt Sport might actually introduce the Sportier version of their more popular hatchback Tiago.
Tata Bolt Sport was unveiled towards the beginning of this year at the Delhi Auto expo and it attracted quite an attention because apart from the cosmetic upgrades the Bolt Sport also actually featured a more powerful engine under its hood. But when it came to making it a reality the poor sales figures of the Bolt hatchback actually kept Tata motors thinking whether they will go ahead with the idea or not. If Tata would have launched the Bolt Sport in India they would have targeted a price range of below 8 Lakh rupees to actually price it below the Fiat Punto Abarth which would have been its biggest rival.
So a source close to Tata Motors revealed that they are pretty sure of the fact that they cannot achieve the necessary numbers in sales to make the Bolt Sport a success in India. However they have now shifted their focus on making a hot hatch variant of the more fuel efficient and better selling Tiago instead.
These three cars took just 18 days to complete 50000 kilometer endurance mark
Tata Bolt, Tata Tiago and Tata Zest, three of these Tata Motors car has achieved an amazing feat by crossing 50000 kilometers in just 18 days in the #GearedForGreat endurance challenge. In the endurance test all these four cars had to run nonstop for 18 days with only periodic technical pit stops every two hours for driver change, refueling, routine checks, windshield and headlamp cleaning. The test was held at the 4.2 km long NCAT (National Centre of Automotive Testing) high speed testing track at the Vehicle Research & Development Establishment (VRDE) in Ahmednagar. In an attempt to do this the cars made a total of 360 records. More than 60 professional drivers, racers and automobile experts from 22 cities across the country participated in the event.
The models used in the endurance test were petrol variants of Tata Bolt and Tata Zest and both petrol and diesel variants of soon to be launched Tata Tiago. All these four cars ran at an average speed of 120 kmph. Incidentally, this is the first such feat for any Indian automaker. Began on 14th March, 2016 the cars were randomly selected from the automaker’s plant. The challenge tested the powertrains, suspensions, body structures and electronic components to their limits.
The Tata Bolt gets a host of skirts, spoilers, and diffusers
Tata Motors is undoubtedly one of the most sought after player in the Indian automobile market. Since last few years the Indian origin automaker has been presenting spectacular concepts and production models at the New Delhi Auto Expo. 2016 Auto Expo was no different in this regard. Tata Motors showcased a range of popular passenger vehicles at the Big Boys Toys Expo 2015 in Mumbai. In this Auto expo the homegrown auto manufacturer showcased accessorized versions of the Tata Bolt, compact hatchback Tata GenX Nano and SUV Tata Safari Storme.
The recently introduced Tata Bolt is a popular hatchback from the Tata Motors, the modified hatchback showcased here was in its Rally avatar. This completely new and sporty looking Rally Bolt has seats with 5 point safety harness, Alloy Wheels with Rally Tyres and Rally Livery like accessories.
Tata Nano has been the revolutionary small hatchback from Tata Motors, and the latest version of this car is the GenX Nano. The stylish, feature packed and trendy compact hatchback GenX Nano Easy Shift, was also displayed with body kit, spoiler, sunroof, body graphics, alloy wheels door visor, remote controlled hatch release, attractive leather seat covers with cushions and carpet.
The last car which was displayed there was the Tata Safari Storme. This SUV also has been the answer to several foreign manufacturer made SUVs, and it was showcased in the event as a fully accessorized off road vehicle. This car was loaded with a hood scoop, hood deflector, personal navigation device from Garmin, roof mounted fog lamps, day time running light, tail gate mounted cycle carrier, front bumper mounted fog lamps, car awning, laser shades, door visor, chrome elements, chiller cum warmer, seat organizer, coat hanger, rubber mats, seat covers and alloy wheels with mud terrain tyres.
Tata Motors celebrates the Ganesh Chaturthi in new style. They delivered 1100 passenger vehicles in a single day in the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
In Maharashtra only, where Ganesh Chaturthi is the biggest festival indeed, Tata Motors delivered more than 700 cars in a single day. Apart from that they also delivered more than 400 units of various passenger vehicles in the states like Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh. The vehicles of choice were specially concentrated to the Tata Zest, Tata Bolt and Tata GenX Nano.
It is nothing new, that during festive season Indian customers opt for buying cars. Therefore Tata Motors saw a huge demand for these cars in major cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Raipur and Bhopal.

The popular and much hyped hatchback from Tata, the Bolt finally rolled out in the neighboring country Nepal. Tata Motors launched the car in the country with their authorized distributor Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd.
Launched in India last January; Bolt became quite popular in the compact hatchback segment. With that success to boast and the popularity and need for small hatchbacks in countries like Nepal; Tata launched this car to the mountain rugged country.
Tata Bolt got its popularity because of the Multidrive facility, which was vigorously highlighted during the promotions. It comes with a legacy of Tata Vista, and sports features like projector headlamps, alloy wheels, multi-function steering wheels, automatic climate control, and touch screen entertainment system with video playback facility, Bluetooth at the center console. It also comes with safety features like ABS, EBD, corner stability control, dual front airbags etc.
The petrol variant of bolt sports a 1.2 liter turbocharged four cylinder Revotron engine, which churns out 90 PS and 140 Nm torque with a fuel economy of 17.57 kmpl, while the diesel variant uses a Fiat sourced 1.3 liter unit that delivers 75 PS and 190 Nm torque, and it comes with a fuel economy rate of 22.95 kmpl. The Multidrive facility of this car comes with three options, which are - Sports, City and Eco.
The petrol variant Bolt comes with a price tag of NPR 23.95 lakh (INR 14.98 lakh) and the diesel one is priced at NPR 28.35 lakh (INR 17.74 lakh), where as In India price range for Tata Bolt varies in between 4.45 lakh to 7 lakh INR. The hatchback will be available in Nepal both in petrol and diesel variants and in three trims precisely which are XE, XM, and XT; and in five colour variations.
Basically in Indian market there are various segments with various customer choices, a part of buyers are looking for compact SUVs, while the other half is always up for sedans, but the largest chunk of customer base is always keen to go for hatchbacks. A 4/5 seater car is always in their mind, while going for a buy.
Keeping that in mind more or less all the automobile manufacturers, be it homegrown or an international brand, are making hatchbacks their prime segment to cater the particular customer base, and here comes the fiery fight of hatchbacks.

Tata Motors launched their much awaited Bolt hatchback in India today. We have already seen their Zest compact sedan acquire positive response and feedback from the people, the Bolt hatchback is the second product from Tata Motors to come out from their Horizon Next product strategy, this hatch will take on the other competitors of its segment like the newly launched Hyundai Elite i20 and the popular Volkswagen Polo and the facelift Fiat Punto.
The Bolt is built on the same X1 platform which was also used by the older Vista hatch. The Bolt and the Zest was first showcased at the 2014 Auto expo and out of all other concept cars from Tata the Zest and the Bolt were the only products which appeared production ready. Tata Motors already started the online bookings of the hatch dew days ago and today finally it was launched in the Indian market with prices starting at 4.44 Lakhs(ex showroom Delhi) for the base petrol variant.
The Bolt has been launched in petrol and diesel variants, the petrol variant uses the 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron motor which was already introduced with the Zest compact sedan, this new unit produces about 90 Ps of peak power and 140 Nm of torque. While on the other hand the diesel variant uses the popular 1.3 Litre .3-litre Quadrajet unit (used to power the Vista hatch) which produces about 75 Ps of peak power and 190 Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to a 5 speed manual transmission, Tata Motors has not launched or announced any AMT transmission yet along with this newly launched hatch.
Finally the wait is over and Tata Motors will be launching their much anticipated Bolt hatchback tomorrow 22nd January 2015 in India.
It was first showcased at the 2014, Auto expo in Delhi previous year. Tata Motors already launched their Zest compact sedan which is based on their Bolt hatchback and it did received a positive response from the people now we are hopeful that their hatchback Bolt too will receives the same kind of response from the people.
The Bolt hatchback will be launched in the Indian market with a 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged petrol engine which produces about 89 Bhp of peak power and 140 Nm of torque and will be matted to a 5 speed manual gearbox. This will also be the very first time that a hatchback will feature Multi drive modes namely SPORT, ECO and CITY which will surely bring in some more fun while driving the hatchback. There is also a diesel drivetrain too on offer which will feature a 1.3-litre ’Quadrajet’ turbo-diesel unit will produce about 74 Bhp of peak power and this too will be mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox.
Styling wise the Bolt hatchback looks similar to the Zest compact sedan afterall it is the same car minus the big boot that is found towards the rear of the Zest sedan. Expect the interior features too to be similar to what you will find inside the Zest sedan however the top end variant will get the Harman-sourced central touchscreen infotainment system.
Exoect the Bolt hatchback to be priced lower than the Hyundai Grand i10 afterall the Grandi10 definitely is its biggest competitor present in the Indian market.
We recently reported that Tata has already started taking bookings for the Bolt hatchback recently and one can book the Bolt hatch by paying a sum of Rs. 11, 000. Now the sources say that Tata Motors will be launching their Bolt hatchback in India on 15th of January 2015.
The Bolt will be the second product after the Zest sedan which is built under the HorizonNext strategy. Under the hood of this hatch you will get a 1.2 litre turbocharged Revotron MPFi petrol engine which produces about 89bhp of peak power and 140 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox. While the diesel variant is powered by a 1.3 litre Multijet unit mated to a 5 speed gearbox produces about 74bhp of peak power and about 190 Nm of torque.
Now the issue with Tata Motors products was they lacked quality but according to Tata they have actually taken care of this issue and have taken care of the quality this time and thus they have double checked and assured that the parts supplied by the suppliers are of best quality. The Bolt really looks much more improved than the hatch that it actually replaces. Beside just the quality Tata Motors have also improved the interiors, compared to the Vista the Bolt comes with a brand new refreshed interior which also have enough space and also comes with new and loaded infotainment system.

They have first launched their sedan Zest in the Indian market which is actually based on their hatchback Bolt and today Tata has started accepting online bookings for the Bolt which means that they will be launching their hatchback soon.
The Bolt hatch will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine option, powering the petrol variant is a 1.2 Litre turbocharged ‘Revotron’ unit which produces about 90 ps of peak power and 140 Nm of torque. This 1.2 Litre unit will come with Multi Drive modes namely Sport, City, and Eco while the tried and tested diesel variant is powered by a 1.3-liter Fiat MultiJet unit which generates 75 PS of peak power and 190 Nm of torque.
Both the Bolt and the Zest which comes from the same family has been designed and developed with the inputs of design studios based in Pune (India), Coventry (UK), and Turin (Italy) and carries lot of modern styling inputs. Beside just the looks the Bolt hatch also comes equipped with modern safety features like ABS developed by Bosch, Corner Stability Control (CBS) which adds to the safety of the hatch, it will also get additional airbags for both the driver and driver side passenger at the front.
