However, we all have moved on from boring boxy suvs to modern looking vehicles which not only look good but are well equipped with all the modern technologies as well. Apart from getting powerful drivetrains Indian customers now want an SUV which is safer and fuel efficient. It offcourse is a bonus if the vehicle can perform well when there is no tarmac.

So below provided are the list and all the new features which they will be bringing with them that makes these upcoming SUV’s unique and worth buying.
2017 Tata Nexon
Tata Motors is a household name which we are all familiar with not exactly for their passenger’s cars but for their array of commercial vehicles which ply on our Indian roads. However, the entire scenario changed since the year 2014 when our homegrown auto manufacturer decided to introduce their new generation lineup for the Indian market. In that particular year, Tata Motors also showcased a sub-4 meter SUV concept at the 2014 Auto Expo which looked futuristic and way ahead of its time. Later we came to know Tata Motors received a lot of enquiries about the particular concept car which encouraged them to give a green signal to the project.
Move ahead to the year 2016 Auto Expo where we saw an almost production ready Nexon concept which looked futuristic and promised to bring with it an array of new features to this segment. The SUV was spotted being tested a couple of times on the Indian road and other various conditions. We also got to see a glimpse of the production variant of the Nexon at the 2017 Geneva Motor show. Tata Motors has also confirmed that they will be launching the much awaited Nexon sub-4 meter SUV towards the month of September.
The sub-4 meter SUV is a direct rival to the popular Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Ford Ecosport. Initially, we thought that it would be launched only with a diesel engine under its hood, but now we have received the confirmation that Tata Nexon will be available with both diesel and petrol engines which also give it a slight edge over its rival the Vitara Brezza.
Tata Nexon definitely has the looks to catch everyone’s attention but does it have everything to tick all the boxes? Find it out here in our overview of this new sub-4 meter SUV from Tata Motors.
Can The Nexon SUV Be The Next Game Changer For Tata Motors?
Tata Motors never left a mark in the SUV market in the recent times their only product Safari was able to leave some mark, but that was nothing compared to its rivals. To increase their shares and get a better hold of the market Tata Motors introduced the Hexa Hexa Crossover which replaced its Predecessor Arya which never was a successful product.
But now the future is looking bright for Tata Motors because recently they have introduced two of their new generation products in the form of the Hexa Crossover and the Tiago hatchback. Both of these new products were well appreciated amongst the Indian buyers mostly because they bring the modern feel with their upgraded features and better quality materials and not to forget frugal yet powerful engines.
Tata Motors will be launching another new compact SUV soon which was showcased as a concept for the first time at the 2014 Auto Expo in New Delhi. The Nexon was spotted being tested on Indian roads many times and the launch will most probably happen later 2017 or early 2018.
We have found out why and how this upcoming SUV can be a game changer for Tata Motors and the secret behind its success formula.
Tata Motors Sold A Total Of 38,361 units in May 2017 High Demand For Tigor, Tiago and Hexa Continues
Tata Motors released their sales report for the month of May stating positive growth that their passenger vehicle segment has received over the course of the month of May 2017. Their report says that they have seen a positive growth percentage of 27% during the mentioned month as compared to the corresponding month in 2016. Tata Motors has sold a total of 10,855 units of their domestic vehicle during the month of May 2017. This was all possible because of the high demands of their recently launched cars like the Tigor, Tiago->article and the Hexa.
On the other hand, they also have witnessed a decline of 4 percent in their overall sales number. The Auto manufacturer has sold a total of 38,361 vehicles compared to 40,123 vehicles in May 2016. The company’s overall commercial vehicles sales in May 2017, in the domestic market, were at 23,606 nos which are lower by 13% over May 2016.
Besides all these, the homegrown Auto manufacturers exports were at 3,900 nos. in May 2017 which has seen a steep decline of 12% compared to 4,428 vehicles sold in May 2016. The export market has taken a hit because of the Retail drop of SCV in Sri Lanka after the steep increase in import tariffs in late 2016 and also because of weak demand in Nepal because of their election process.

Tata Motors recently announced their tie-up with Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives to build performance-oriented vehicles recently. Like we already reported earlier this partnership would fully concentrate on performance oriented cars based on Tata Motors current product lineup. For all your information these cars will be developed under JT special vehicles PVT limited. So before we head into anything else let us first inform you all that Jayem Automotives is an independent Automotive R & D Company who designs, tests and manufacture a broad range of automotive components. Now, this type of collaboration is quite common amongst Auto manufacturers while some build their own units like Mercedes-AMG GMBH popularly known as Mercedes-AMG who hires independent engineers and manufacturers to customize Mercedes own product lineup. After Mercedes Jaguar too started operating their own special operational vehicles division which too develops performance oriented cars based on their current product. Then there is Fiat and Abarth.
While the names mentioned above are some of the high-ends luxury carmakers Tata Motors, on the other hand, will focus on performance-oriented cars which will be affordable and well within reach of average Indian buyers. Tata Motors and Jayem Automotives will build a workshop which will also have a design, assembly and testing facilities all under one roof. Drag Race Video: Tamo RACEMO vs Toyota GT86
Tata Motors unveiled the ‘TAMO RACEMO’ at the 2017 Geneva Motors and this also happens to be India’s first globally developed ‘phygital’ car, which was used in the Microsoft’s Forza Horizon 3 game. The Game actually gives an opportunity to the gamer to experience and drive the Tamo Racemo in virtual world. The gamers actually can drive the car before the Racemo is actually launched in the market.
Now here in this video you can actually watch the Tamo Racemo in action as it competes against the Toyota GT86. Now both these cars are entry level 2 door sportscars, while the Racemo is powered by the 1.2 Litre turbocharged 3 cylinder unit which put out about 188 Hp of peak power. The Toyota GT86 on the other hand uses a 2.0 Litre naturally aspirated 4 cylinder unit which produces about 197 Bhp of peak power from the front positioned unit.
In this video you can clearly watch that the Racemo accelerates from standstill way quicker than that of the Toyota GT86. But the GT86 managed to overtake the Tamo Racemo towards the end of the race. This proves that while the initial acceleration of the Tamo Racemo was quicker than that of the GT86 the additional power and better top speed helped the Toyota to beat the Racemo at a later stage of the race and win the drag race.
However, do not get disappointed because the Virtual performance and the rear world performance might be a lot different in real life.
