Tata has launched the much-awaited SUV, the Harrier in the Indian market. The all-new SUV is available in four variants and the prices start from Rs. 12.69 lakhs. The Harrier is only available in diesel variants and here is the price list of the all the variants.

Even the base variant of the Tata Harrier gets features like dual front airbags, ABS, parking sensors, central locking, projector headlamps, LED DELs, LED tail lamps, 16-inch steel rims, powered wing mirrors, 4-inch MID, power windows, rear AC vents and adjustable steering wheel for rake and reach. The top-end, fully loaded version of the Harrier gets as many as 6-airbags, 8.8-inch floating type infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cooled storage under the armrest, 7-inch MID, 9-speaker with sub-woofer from JBL, ESP, traction control, off-roading ABS, cornering ABS, disc wiping feature, reverse camera, HID projector headlamps, keyless entry, climate control system, cornering lamps, leather seats, cruise control and so on.
However, Tata misses out on important and common features like the sunroof and 4WD system. Tata has developed the terrain response system that makes the vehicle quite capable in the challenging situations.
The all-new Tata Harrier is based on the OMEGA ARC platform, which has been derived from the Land Rover’s Discovery Sport’s D8 platform. Tata has modified the platform heavily to make it more affordable in the market.
The Harrier is powered by a 2.0-litre KRYOTEC diesel engine. It is basically a 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine supplied by Fiat. This is the same engine the powers the Jeep Compass in the Indian market. It produces a maximum power of 140 PS and a peak torque of 350 Nm. Tata offers a 6-speed manual transmission but it is expected to get an automatic transmission soon.
The Tata Harrier takes on the Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV 500 and even the Jeep Compass in the Indian market. Soon, the longer, 7-seater version of the Harrier will be launched in the market.
