Recently the images of the Japanese spec Suzuki Wagon-R leaked online , the images quite clearly reveals the new model and details and also gives all of us an idea about what the new generation Wagon-R will look like. Although this is the Japanese spec model and thus the overall styling looks like some typical Japanese small car. However expect the Indian spec variant to take some serious styling inspiration from the Japanese spec hatchback.
There is no doubt that the Wagon-R is definitely one of the most sold hatchbacks of the Country. The car is popular for its tall boy styling which helps in providing enough room for the passengers inside. Now according to the recent reports Maruti Suzuki also has plans to introduce the next generation Wagon-R in India towards the end of this year or early 2018.

Although the Japanese spec Wagon-R looks like a typical Japanese small car so it might to suit the taste of all the Indian Wagon-R fans. The hatchback gets a completely new face which gets a split grille and even split headlamps. The lower grille too looks huge and covers a huge portion of the front profile. The cars overall silhouette remains more or less identical to the current hatchback. The side profile of the hatchback gets a thick B pillar and flared wheel arches. The rear profile of the hatchback looks simple and gets compact taillamps.
As far as the Indian spec Wagon-R is concerned expect it to get more conventional styling which will suit the Indian taste but offcourse the hatchback will surely looks slightly more sportier and even premium than the current hatchback.
There are no images of the interior available yet but expect the Japanese spec hatchback to be loaded with plenty of premium stuffs. However the Indian spec hatchback too will get a completely revamped interior as well which might include a completely new dashboard, new infotainment system and also better quality seats.
The Japanese spec hatchback gets a 660 cc motor which is available with both turbocharged as well as naturally aspirated variant. This engine is expected to produce around 52 Ps of peak power on the Japanese spec hatchback.
As far as the Indian spec model is concerned you can expect Maruti Suzuki to power the hatchback with the same 1.0 Litre petrol unit which is capable of producing about 67 Bhp of peak power and 90 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 5 speed manual gearbox and also an AMT transmission as well.

Maruti could unveil the India production spec Wagon R by the end of this year. Presently Maruti is focussing on two of their latest upcoming products the new generation Swift hatchback and the Swift Dzire compact sedan.
