DC Designs Releases Customisation Packs For Mahindra Thar
There is no doubt in the fact that Mahindra Thar is definitely one of the most popular adventure enthusiast vehicles. This is well within the budget of many and can give you all the thrills and chills that you need when there is no tarmac. Recently DC Designs who is popularly known across India for some of their out of this world Customised vehicles and offcourse India’s first and one and only sports car maker Avanti has decided to introduce customization packs for the Mahindra Thar.
They have released two sketches of a customised Mahindra Thar and there is no doubt that they look badass. Based on what you can notice in the published sketches the Customised Thar will have a hard top which also gets integrated driving lamps as well. However, the front end of the Thar has been completely redesigned and this new design definitely enhances the overall appeal offroad appeal of the SUV. The front also gets redesigned grille and bumper while the front bumper also gets integrated fog lamps as well. The side profile of the SUV has received plastic body claddings which further enhance its offroading capability. Just like the front profile the rear profile of the Thar also has been redesigned. This sketch shows that the Customised Thar will get a redesigned LED taillamps while the rear tailgate has been redesigned to supports the bigger and fatter tyres.
Indian Armed Forces Will Now Drive The New Tata Safari Storme
Tata Motors has signed a contract with the Indian Armed Forces; the Indian Ministry of Defence (MOD) had floated an RFP for vehicles with three basic criteria which include minimum payload capacity of 800 kgs; hard roofs and air conditioning. Under a new category of vehicles - GS800 (General Service 800) Tata Motors will be supplying a total of 3192 units of the Tata Safari Storme 4x4.
So the first and the foremost things any defence vehicle need are strength and endurance. Tata Motors have tested the Safari Storme in some of the harshest conditions for over a period of fifteen months. The auto manufacturer has forayed into the defence sector as per plan. First Tata Motors replaced the Tatra by Tata High Mobility Vehicle 6x6 in the 10 Tonne class. Now The Defense Ministry has finally found a replacement for the Maruti Gypsy with the Tata Safari Storme in the 4x4 light vehicle category.

Powered by the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine, this unit is capable of producing about 707 Hp of peak power. This is the same unit which also powers the Hellcat as well. The FCA engineers surely made some serious amount of effort to swap the whole engine. The V8 is capable of producing about 707 Hp of peak power and 645 lb-ft of torque. Believe it or not but the Trackhawk can sprint from 0-60 mph mark in 3.5 seconds. Furthermore, the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk also gets a computer-controlled adaptive suspension system which enhances the overall driving experience. Furthermore, it also gets many different driving modes as well including Track mode which transfers 70 percent of the power output to the rear wheels. The SUV further also gets bigger brakes towards the front wheels. The overall aerodynamics of the SUV has also been improved to make it faster. However, the ride height of the SUV has been lowered to improve the handling dynamics.
To further enhance the track driving experience the Trackhawk also gets a launch control. Although, this is not as wild as the Challenger SRT Demon remember that the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk can comfortably sit five occupants inside and can still do its job.

Jaguar F-Pace Wins The Crown For Best Looking Car At The 2017 World Car Awards
The Jaguar F-Pace has just been crowned the 2017 World Car of the Year at the New York Motor Show. The F-Pace not only won the best car of the year award but at the same time also bagged the accolade for the most beautiful car of the year as well thus scooping the prestigious World Car of Year and World Car Design of the Year titles at the same time.
The F-Pace won the top spot competing with 23 other new cars including the two great finalists including the second generation Q5 and the Volkswagen Tiguan.

The F-Pace is jaguars first performance SUV from the British car manufacturer which has contributed record sales growth for the brand. The engine options for the SUV includes a 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel unit, which produces about 132 KW of peak power with CO2 emissions as low as 126g/km* to the high-performance 380PS, supercharged V6 petrol model which can accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 5.5 seconds.

4 Brave Indian Women 24 Countries 1 Epic Journey!
Dr Najma Heptulla, Governor of Manipur, flagged off ‘XPD 24-70’ mission to raise funds for the Rotary India Literacy Mission and also to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Indian Independence. The Journey flagged off from Imphal, and four brave women Rotarians have participated in this one epic road trip.
The team of four Adventurous women Meenakshi Aravind (from Coimbatore), Mookambika Rathinam (from Pollachi), Ruckmani V and Priya Rajpal (from Mumbai) picked the Tata Hexa as their weapon of choice to complete the ‘XPD 24-70’ mission.
This epic journey started from Coimbatore India and will end in London, traversing through 8 time zones, 24 Countries and a total of 24, 000 Kms. This drive is being aimed at the longest Literacy Drive. This drive will have events held across several cities across all the 24 Countries to not only promote women literacy but also to support Rotary initiated program T-E-A-C-H.
To complete this Journey, Tata Motors have sponsored an automatic variant of their recently introduced Hexa Crossover along with service and support for their epic voyage. The Tata Hexa comes with a combination of design, comfort and off-road and on-road capabilities. Powered by a 2.2-litre VARICOR 400 diesel engine, which is capable of delivering an impressive 156 Ps of peak power and 400 Nm of torque. Jeep Compass Launching Soon Previewed: Video
Jeep has previewed their Indian spec Compass SUV in a new official video. Jeep has plans to debut the Compass SUV in India this month only. The SUV already stated its manufacturing process at Tata Motors-Fiat joint venture’s plant in Ranjangaon near Pune. The Compass will also be the manufacturer’s first product which is locally made in the Country, and as a result, they were able to achieve 80 percent localisation here which apparently will also affect its pricing as well. Expect the prices of this new SUV to begin from under 20 Lakhs ex-showroom.
The new Compass SUV is supposed to get both petrol and diesel options under its hood. While the petrol variant will get the 1.4 FIRE MultiAir 2 unit, the diesel variant, on the other hand, will get the 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel turbocharged unit. While the Indian spec Compass gets only two engine options, the International spec gets a total of five engine options. The Compass SUV is available internationally with three trim levels which include Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk However India will miss the top end trim on offer.
The Jeep Compass SUV borrows its styling cues from the premium Grand Cherokee SUV. The exterior will get projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, big 19-inch alloy wheels on its side profile and LED taillamps. Inside the cabin expect some premium features like the Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, premium sound system and also a LED instrument cluster as well.
2017 Hyundai Creta
Hyundai has launched the updated 2017 Creta SUV in India. The updated Creta SUV now gets cosmetic as well equipment upgrade to it. 2017 Mahindra Scorpio Adventure
Mahindra has recently introduced the Scorpio Adventure edition. The SUV is a limited edition model which has gone on sale and is actually slightly pricier than the standard top end trim. 2017 Nissan Terrano
Nissan has launched the facelift Terrano in India today. The updated SUV gets minimal changes to the exterior while inside is where one will find the maximum number of changes. The Terrano was launched in India back in 2013 and based on the same platform which Renault uses to underpin their Duster SUV as well. The updated Terrano get 22 brand new features which have been provided to strengthen the SUV’s smarter and bolder appeal to customers.

Jeep To Introduce Their Entry Level Compass SUV In India This April
Jeep is all set to unveil the Indian spec Compass SUV on 12th April 2017. The Compass will be India’s first Jeep vehicle to manufacture in India at the Fiat’s facility in Ranjangaon. However, Jeep will only showcase the SUV on 12th April whereas the launch is still far away. For the International model, the new Compass will replace the existing outgoing Compass and Patriot SUVs while this new SUV will also be a major product for the Indian market as well.
The Jeep Compass SUV positioned in between the entry level Renegade and Cherokee SUV in the automaker lineup. Although the Compass SUV was spotted testing a couple of times in India the engine details are not out yet, but it will most probably get the Multijet 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine which is expected to churn out about 170hp of peak power and 350Nm of torque. The engine paired to a nine-speed automatic gearbox. The Petrol variant of the Compass, on the other hand, will get the 1.4-litre Multiair engine which is expected to produce around 140 Hp of peak power. The Transmission options will include a 9-speed automatic, while a manual gearbox is also likely to be offered as well. The new Compass SUV will stay true to its SUV offroading genes and thus expect the top end variants will get the 4X4 system along with a low ratio and a traction management system for various terrains like sand, mud, rocks, etc.
2017 Force Gurkha
Force Motors has introduced the updated 2017 Gurkha in India. The new Gurkha has been confronted to meet the BSIV emission norms and is now available with both three and five doors body configuration. The updated SUV is provided with two body variants called Xplorer and Xpedition. The updated Gurkha is not exactly a new generation offering and thus gets minor tweaks to the exterior and interior styling along with the drivetrain.
There is no doubt that the Gurkha has achieved a lot and proved its toughness and durability since its introduction back in 2008. A true contender to the Mahindra Thar Force Motors has tried to retain the offroading genes even in this updated version and made it even more comfortable and upmarket.
