Yes! I too have the same question in my mind. What is this new generation Civic doing at the Honda’s factory in Tapukara, Rajasthan. Now according to the reports on India today there is a possibility of Honda launching the new generation Civic in India within this year. The Civic introduced in 2006 and later discontinued in 2013 due to weak sales numbers. One of the leading causes of such poor sales figures was the lack of a diesel engine option.
Now that the new Civic was spotted recently at the Tapukara facility in Rajasthan could it mean that Honda is planning to relaunch the sedan in the Indian market once again?
2018 Hyundai Elite i20 With Fancy Wheels Spotted Testing
A pre-production test mule of the upcoming 2018 Hyundai Elite i20 facelift was recently spotted caught being tested in India. The test mule was covered in heavy camouflage but what caught everyone’s attention was the new set of fancy alloy wheels. The design of the new alloy wheels looked identical to that of the Mercedes CLA Sport’s 17-inch 5-spoke unit.
The test mule was covered in heavy camouflage, but the facelift i20 apparently will continue with the same fluidic design language of the current generation hatchback. The premium hatchback will continue with the same hexagonal shaped grille towards the front with chrome slats. However, we do feel that the facelift variants front bumper will be tweaked while it will most probably also gets a redesigned headlamps as well. We will be happy if Hyundai launches the facelift variant of the hatchback equipped with a fancy set of alloy wheels. Towards the rear expect the hatchback also to get a redesigned rear bumper and taillamps. Although the test mule was covered and the interiors were not visible expect it to get an updated seat upholstery and a multi-information display in between the twin instrument cluster pods and a new touchscreen infotainment system as standard across all its variants.
Production Spec Tata Nexon Caught Undisguised Way Ahead Of Its Launch
Only recently we came to know that Tata Motors is all set to introduce the new Nexon compact SUV in India before Diwali 2017. The production spec of the Compact SUV was also showcased recently at 2017, Geneva Motor show. However, Carwale was able to click some undisguised pictures of what looks like the production spec of the Nexon compact SUV recently.
The sub-4 meter SUV will compete directly with the likes of the Toyota Etios Cross, Fiat Avventura Cross and the soon to be launched Honda WR-V Crossovers when it finally launches here. According to the reports, Tata Motors will price the new compact SUV aggressively.
The undisguised car which was spotted looked identical to the Nexon show car showcased recently at the 2017 Geneva Motor show. Towards the front profile, the compact SUV features a large honeycomb mesh grille with the Tata Motor logo at the centre. The headlamp unit looks quite similar to the ones found in the concept car showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in New Delhi. While the lower trims will get halogen lamps, the top end trim will receive projector units. Expect the front headlamp unit also to integrate LED daytime running lights as well. The front profile also gets aggressive looking bumpers which also houses round shaped fog lamps as well.
Honda WR-V Interior Revealed In New Spyshots Launch In March!
Honda will be launching the Jazz based Crossover WR-V soon in India. The vehicle was spotted a number of times being tested and also in some spyshots where it was seen arriving at some dealerships. However, until now no details of the interiors were revealed. Recently Team-BHP was able to get their hands on some interior shots of the soon to be launched Crossover which reveals quite a number of details about the interior as well as the list of equipment which you can expect from the upcoming Crossover.
As you can clearly see from the spyshots the WR-V will get a completely blacked-out dashboard. The steering wheel, as well as the instrument cluster too, has been shared with the hatchback. While the list of equipment which you can expect in the WR-V Crossover includes a sunroof which will definitely be available with the top end trims, the rest of the interior equipment includes push button start, new touchscreen infotainment system which is also shared with the recently introduced facelift City sedan. This will also be a 5-Seater Crossover and the seats too have been taken from the Jazz hatchback as well.

Tata’s Upcoming Compact Sedan Tigor Spotted Without Camouflage Wearing The Badge
Tata Motors Tigor sedan has surely become on of the most anticipated car of the Indian market now. It was showcased for the first time at the 2016 Auto Expo and we loved every bit of it. Now recently we also came to know that the upcoming compact sedan will be called Tigor.
Recently the sedan was caught without a camouflage wearing the Tigor nameplate which actually builds up our anticipation even more. According to some reports Tata Motors will most probably launch the new compact sedan during the month of April 2017 in India.
Expect the Tigor’s front profile to be identical to what you have seen on the Tiago hatchback however expect the rear profile to be completely different. Maruti Baleno RS Spotted Undisguised before Its Launch Next Month
The Baleno hatchback surely gathered lots of appreciation since its launched last year officially here in India. Now after almost a year, Maruti has planned to introduce a sportier variant of the same hatchback. Called the Baleno RS, this car made its first official appearance at the 2016 Auto Expo in New Delhi. Maruti has confirmed that they will be launching the Baleno RS in India on 3rd March 2017.
Recently Gaadiwaadi was able to click some undisguised images of the sportier Baleno variant of the hatchback which gives us an idea about the things which you can expect from this upcoming hatchback variant.
Before we get into anything else, let us remind you that the Baleno RS will be positioned on top of their existing hatchback and will only sell through the Nexa dealerships. That said, the car will get a new 998 cc Boosterjet turbocharged three-cylinder direct-injection engine, although the engine is smaller than the 1.2 Litre unit which powers the standard hatchback it makes more power than the 1.2 Litre unit. The new 1.0 Litre Ecobooost unit produces about 101 Hp of peak power at around 5500 rpm and 150 NM of torque in between 1,700 and 4,500 rpm. The engine will paired to a five-speed manual unit.
Talk about styling, and the new Baleno RS gets few exterior updates which come in the form of a new body kit which will include sportier front and rear bumpers, side skirts, chrome garnishes towards the front grille and perhaps slightly beefier tires.
Hyundai Xcent Facelift Sedan Spotted Testing Just Few Days Before Its Launch
Only recently we have reported that Hyundai is all set to introduce the Grand i10 hatchback facelift in India. It was already spotted at a local dealer and we have provided you all the details of this upcoming hatchback. Now Hyundai will also be launching the facelift Xcent sedan as well which is actually based on the Grand i10 hatchback.
What is interesting is the fact that the facelift Xcent sedan was spotted testing on the Indian road recently which actually gives us an idea that Hyundai won’t be waiting much longer to launch the facelift sedan in India. It looks like after Hyundai introduces the facelift Grand i10 hatchback they will be launching the sedan as well.
As far as the changes are concerned expect the sedan to receive the same cosmetic updates which will be seen on the Grand i10 hatchback.
For all your information expect the Xcent sedan to get an updated front grille while the front bumpers too houses new fog lamps. The side profile however will remain identical to the pre-facelift variant though what it might get are perhaps new set of wheels. Just like the front profile, expect the rear profile too to also get an updated rear bumper and perhaps slightly tweaked rear taillamps.
2017 Hyundai Grand i10 With Updated Diesel Engine Spotted!
Hyundai is all set to introduce the Grand i10 facelift in India in the month of February; this will be their first major launch for the Indian market in the year 2017. Details of the soon to be launched hatchback now have surfaced online including information about its new updated engine and pricing.
According to the recent reports the facelift Grand i10 prices will start from INR. 4, 58, 000 for the base ERA petrol trim while the top end Asta diesel is expected to be priced at INR. 7.33 lakh(ex showroom). The best thing is that the facelift variant base variant will now be atleast INR. 30,000 cheaper than the existing variant. Apart from the revised pricing the hatchback facelift also gets a revised lineup as well. The Asta(O) trim has now been discontinued in favour of standard Asta trim, while two new trims are also being added to the current lineup which includes Sportz(O) and the Sportz(O) AT which is available exclusively with the petrol variant.
Coming to the cosmetic changes the soon to be launched Grand i10 will get a wider front grille, repositioned front fog lamps and a new rear bumper to go with the frontal changes. Unfortunately there are no other big changes made to the hatchback.
Honda Jazz Based Crossover WR-V Spotted In India
Honda took the covers off the Jazz based Crossover at Brazil towards the end of 2016. Called the WR-V, this Crossover although is based on the hatchback but you will need expert eyes to understand that it is based on the same Jazz hatchback because quite honestly the WR-V looks a lot different than the Jazz. Unexpectedly Honda has decided to launch this hatchback based Crossover in India soon and according to some rumours the production of this new Crossover has already commenced at their Tapukara plant in Rajasthan.
Now this is actually a bold move from the manufacturer considering the fact that they still have not decided to launch a compact Crossover in the Indian market although of the segments popularity within the Country. Their last offering the BR-V did not performed well in terms of sales figures and their only popular offering being the City sedan right now.

2017 Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R Refresh
WagonR is one of the most renowned hatchbacks of the Indian market and it has been on sale in India for the last 7 years. There were talks that Maruti Suzuki could launch the new generation hatchback in India soon and some images of the leaked hatchback were doing rounds on the internet too recently. However that is not the case Maruti has decided not to introduce the new generation hatchback now and instead will actually launch the updated car in a new avatar.
Now before we go into any other details let us inform you that Maruti has decided to retire the Stingray nameplate from their lineup and merge the Stingray variant which until now was offered as the top variant with the entire lineup. So in short the Stingray variant of the WagonR is the standard model now. What is even more interesting is also the fact that a new top VXI+ trim has also been added to the lineup now which will receive all the bells and whistles.

New Spyshot & Details Emerges Of The Upcoming Long Wheelbase TUV
We have already reported that Mahindra is working on a long wheelbase version of the TUV which will most probably be called TUV500. Recently Autocar India was able to spot the upcoming SUV while it was being tested on the Indian roads. Although the SUV was wrapped in heavy camouflage but the source was able to extract information about the powertrain which will sit underneath the hood of this new upcoming SUV.
The good news is that compared to the TUV300 which has received many negative reviews because of its underpowered engine, the long wheelbase version will be powered by a bigger 1.99 Litre diesel unit. This is the same diesel mill which also powers Scorpio, Xylo as well as the XUV500.
The 1.99 Litre engine is the downsized version of Mahindra’s renowned 2.2 Litre M-Hawk engine. This engine was introduced not so long ago in the Indian market so that they could sell the SUV’s in the markets of Delhi and NCR regions. The engine capacity has been downsized by reducing the engine strokes. Although this is actually a smaller engine compared to the 2.2 Litre unit but it produces more power when compared to the bigger unit.
The XUV500 with the new 1.99 Litre unit produces about 142 Hp of peak power instead of 140 Hp on the bigger 2.2 Litre unit. While the Xylo with the smaller unit now produces about 122 Bhp instead of 120 Bhp with the bigger unit.
Expect the new upcoming TUV500 to also get the same 1.99 Litre engine which will produce around 120 Hp of peak power.
Updated 2017 Maruti Wagon-R Variant Spotted Undisguised
Only yesterday we have reported that Maruti is planning to introduce the updated 2017 variant of their popular hatchback Wagon-R in India. The 2017 model will be based on the same generation hatchback which is sold currently in the Indian market and not exactly the new generation Suzuki Wagon-R whose images recently leaked online on the Japanese social media channels.
The biggest change however will come in the form of the Stingray variant now being merged with the top end trim. That’s right Maruti has decided to eliminate the Stingray nameplate and add it with the current lineup and trims. The top end variant which is actually the Stingray variant will be called VXI+ trim while the other two trims on offer are LXI and VXI.
Now for all your information the lower LXI and the VXI trims will be based on the current car and gets few changes both inside and outside. The new hatchback gets few updates inside it now gets mildly updated seat fabrics. While the top of the line VXI+ trim which is based on the Stingray variant gets updated beige fabric upholstery on the seats and door cards. For the safety of the passenger the top end variant gets a driver side airbags as standard, while Maruti is providing dual airbags and ABS as standard across their range of cars as an option.
Under the hood the updated 2017 Wagon-R will not get any mechanical changes thus the 2017 model still continues to be powered by the same 1.0 Litre K series petrol engine capable of producing about 50 KW of peak power and 90 NM of torque. The engine is paired to a 5 speed manual gearbox while there is also an AMT transmission on offer.
2017 Honda Mobilio
According to the recent reports on the internet Honda is all set to introduce the facelift Mobilio in the Indian market. The Mobilio is direct rival of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and perhaps is the only MPV which was able to give some stiff competition to Maruti’s Ertiga.

Tata’s Upcoming Kite 5 Sedan’s Top Variant Spied Completely Undisguised
Some recent completely undisguised photos of Tata’s upcoming Kite 5 compact sedan are going rounds on the internet. Tata Motors showcased the compact sedan for the first time at the 2016 Auto expo and after that it was also spotted couple of times being tested on road.
The model which was spotted in this spyshot is most probably the top end trim and it not only gets a completely new exterior paint but also gets plenty of exciting new features. To begin with the top end trim gets stylish diamond cut alloy wheels, side turn indicators integrated on the ORVM’s, a thick chrome line bar in between the two taillamps at the rear. Although the front profile of the sedan is not highlighted in these images but gets the same face like the Tata Tiago hatchback. However we do feel that the top end trim might get projector units as well instead of the regular halogen units. The biggest advantage of the Tata’s new compact sedan is that it promises to offer an impressive amount of boot space at the rear. Tata claims that the Kite 5 compact sedan will offer around 420 Litres of boot space.
Coming to the interior expect the upcoming compact sedan to get a completely an all Black interior with some contrasting colour accents. As far as the drivetrain are concerned expect this new compact sedan to share the same 1.2 Litre Revotron petrol and 1.05 Litre Revotorq diesel engine under the hood. Both this engines will be paired to a 5 speed manual transmission however there can be an AMT transmission on offer as well.
Expect the Tiago based compact sedan to hit the showrooms in mid 2017 and wit will take on some other rivals like the Honda Amaze and upcoming Chevrolet Beat Essentia sedan.
Jeep Compass Spotted On Indian Road As Launch Nears
The upcoming Jeep Compass SUV was spotted in Mumbai recently by the Carwale team. The Jeep Compass SUV is one SUV for which many of the Indian Jeep fans are eagerly waiting for because this will be the cheapest SUV from Jeep which will set foot in the Indian market. The Jeep Compass SUV will be available in the Indian market with both diesel and petrol engine option. While the diesel mill is expected to get the 2.0L, 4 cylinder, Multijet II turbodiesel unit while the petrol variant will most probably get the 1.4 Litre unit. Both the engines will be paired either to a 6 speed manual gearbox or there will also be an automatic gearbox as well on offer.
Upcoming Chevrolet Beat Hatchback Spied!
Team-BHP reader was recently able to spot the soon to be launched next generation Beat hatchback. The best part is that the person managed to get some interior pictures of what it looks like the production ready mule of the hatchback. According to the reports Chevrolet has plans to launch the new 2017 Beat hatchback towards the first half of the year 2017.
As far as the exterior styling is concerned the next generation Indian spec Beat hatchback will draw its inspiration from the Chevrolet Spark which is sold in some of the other International markets of the world. Expect the new Beat to looks little less aggressive than its predecessor however the front face of the hatchback will get the newly designed headlamps, followed by new much less aggressive grille. However we also believe that Chevy might also add LED DRL lamps and round shaped fog lamps as well to match the current trend. The side profile will also get new set of alloy wheels. 2017 Honda WR-V
If we see the popular recent trend in the global automotive market, the Crossover and compact SUV segment is surely running sky high. Tata Nexon Test Mule Spotted Testing In Ladakh
There is so much interest surrounding the soon to be launched Nexoncompact SUV from Tata Motors. Tata motors already previewed their new compact SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo and where we actually already got lot of details about the SUV.
The test mule which was caught testing was equipped with projector headlamps which comes with twin pod setup and also featured some chrome highlights. While apart from the headlamps the taillamp too featured some chrome highlights as well. Towards the front the test mule featured mesh grille which comes with grey upper lining. The test mule also featured black roof rail as well. Apart from the roof rails the wing mirrors too featured a duel tone characteristic and also integrated turn blinkers. The test mule also featured rear windscreen wipers as well which indicated that this might be the top end variant. Just like the fabricated exterior expect the interior too to get lots of equipments as well. The new Nexon might get a Harmann sourced infotainment system as well
The compact SUV will be based on the updated and heavily re-engineered Vista platform and will most probably be powered by 1.5 Liter Turbocharged diesel unit which is expected to produce about around 108 Hp of peak power and around 260 Nm of torque. The engine will be paired to 6 speed manual transmission while there will also be an AMT transmission on offer as well.
Expect the compact SUV to make it to the Indian market towards the first half of 2017 and will go head top head with the Ford Ecosport, Mahindra TUV300 and also the Maruti Vitara Brezza. Expect the pricing to be around INR. 7 to 10 Lakh rupee mark.
Chevrolet’s Upcoming Compact Sedan Beat Essentia Caught Testing
The car was first showcased at the 2016 Auto expo where it attracted quite a lot of attention. This new Chevrolet Beat Essentia concept was built on the same platform which also supports the new Beat hatchback. According to the recent reports the car will be launched in the Indian market next year and will take on some of the other rivals of the Indian market like the Tata Zest and the Hyundai Xcent and also Maruti Swift Dzire.
The test mule which was caught testing was heavily camouflaged but there was no doubt that this is definitely the new sedan.The original concept which was showcased at the show surely looked interesting with its big headlamps towards the front and tall taillamps towards the rear. Now it will be interesting to find out how much styling will be carried over to the production variant as well. Inside the concept things looked quite modern as well. The concept had blue backlit digital instrument cluster, this instrument cluster consisted of the digital speedometer, tachometer. The centre of the dashboard had a toucshscreen music system hopefully this too will be continued to the production variant as well.
Under the hood the Beat Essentia will most probably be powered by the same 1.2-litre STEC ll petrol engine which powers the current generation Beat hatchback, this engine produces about 77 bhp and 107 Nm of torque. The diesel variant on the other hand will most probably be powered by the new 1.0 Litre three cylinder turbocharged unit. A 5 speed manual transmission will be paired to both the engines which will send power to the front wheels.
Expect the new Beat Essentia Compact sedan to be priced in between INR. 4-7 lakh ex showroom.
2018 Nissan Micra

Mahindra may not have too successful in the sub 4 meter SUV segment, the Quanto being the biggest example however they have not taken a step back. Tata Nexon Production Variant Spied Reveals New Details
Recently Carwale posted a new spyshot image of the production variant of the upcoming Tata Nexon SUV. This SUV was caught testing in Maharashtra recently. The most interesting part is that the compact SUV featured very little camouflage over the rear profile which gave us some details of how exactly the rear profile of production variant will look like.
Just like we have seen at the 2016 Auto expo the Nexon will feature a duel tone finish towards the rear profile. This particular prototype which was caught testing featured a Black strip while the rest of the body gets silver finish to it.
The Nexon is definitely the most anticipated product from Tata Motors which will go head to head with the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza which has taken the Indian market by storm since its launch and also the Mahindra TUV300 and the Ford Ecosport.
