Tata was the first manufacturer in India to launch a sub-4 meter compact sedan. The first compact sedan to hit the Indian market came in the form of the Indigo ecs. Currently, Tata already has another car in this segment as well in the form of Zest which based on their Bolt hatchback. The Tigor will be their second offering in this segment for the Indian auto manufacturer.

But when Tata actually revealed the Tigor right in front of our eyes recently we all got super excited. No wonder Tata Motors won many hearts when they unveiled the production variant of the Tigor at the 2017 Geneva Motor show and later showcased it at a media event in India.

Bollywood Actor Boman Irani Adds A New Jaguar XF To His Garage
Only recently we informed you that Jaguar started manufacturing the locally made XF for the Indian market at their Pune plant. Now, we came to know that of the famous Bollywood Actor, Boman Irani who is well known for some of his unique roles in movies like 3 Idiots and PK gifted himself a brand new XF sedan. The car keys were handed to him by none other than Mr Rohit Suri, Managing Director & President, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd.
The all new locally manufactured XF is one of the most popular cars of the Jaguar lineup since its introduction in 2009. The new sedan is all about performance, technology combined with an entirely new blend of design. The new XF takes its design inspiration from their flagship sportscar F-Type. The car also gets an updated interior as well which now features an InControl Touch Pro system with the all-new 25.9 cm (10.2) touchscreen infotainment system and a Meridian Sound System.
The new XF is made available with a 2.0 Litre petrol unit and a 2.0 Litre Ingenium diesel unit. The diesel unit is capable of producing about 132 KW of peak power at 4000 rpm and 430 Nm of peak torque in between 1 750-2 500. The 2.0 Litre petrol unit, on the other hand, churns out about 177 KW of peak power at 5500 rpm and 340 Nm of torque in between 1 750-2 000 rpm. Both the engines paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. While the petrol unit promises to return around 13.12 km to a litre the diesel unit, on the other hand, returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.33 km to a litre.
Confirmed! Maruti To Sell Ciaz Sedan Through The Nexa Dealerships
Maruti launched the Ciaz sedan back in 2014 after the Ciaz concept was showcased at the Auto Expo the same year. The mid-size sedan quickly became popular amongst the crowd and also earned the crown of being called a worthy competitor to the popular Honda City. Until now Maruti used to sell the Ciaz through their standard Maruti Suzuki dealerships along with their other products, but there were constant rumours that Maruti will perhaps start selling the Ciaz via their Nexa dealerships when they first inaugurated the dealership in India last year.
Currently, Maruti sells a total of 4 cars via their premium dealership Nexa, which includes the SX4 S-Cross, Baleno, Baleno RS and the Ignis Crossover. We have already reported earlier that Maruti perhaps has plans to sell the Ciaz sedan via their Nexa dealerships with a Nexa kind of badge spotted towards the rear profile of the Ciaz sedan.
Now according to the recent reports, it’s been confirmed that Maruti Suzuki’s flagship sedan offering for the Indian market will be sold through the Nexa dealerships soon. It will also be available in 5 trim levels. While the four trim levels include Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha variants. There will be an additional new trim which will be offered as well in the form of a new S (Sport).
2017 Tata Tigor
Tata Motors have revamped their image for the Indian Automobile market; they already created a lot of hype with their hatchback offering Tiago. If you all remember alongside the Tiago hatchback, Tata had also showcased a Tiago based compact sedan back at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo as well. There was no doubt that both the Tiago hatchback and the compact sedan based on the hatchback grabbed people’s attention at the Auto show. The sub-4 meter car was codenamed Kite5 while later it was officially renamed as ‘Tigor’.
There is no denying the fact that Tata Motors started the trend of compact sedans in the Indian market with their product the Indigo ecs but later the segment was overtaken by its rivals. Tata Motors was determined to get their hold back once again here, and as a result of all that, they have launched some modern generation products with refined styling and improved overall interior and exterior. Their new generation products certainly worked for the Indian market, and after almost a year of launch, the Tiago hatch still sells like hot cakes.
Tata Motors used the same strategy and introduced the Tigor compact sedan as well based on the same hatchback platform. But Tata called it Styleback because it did not have the typical styling of a small car. As a matter of fact, the Tigor is the unique looking car of its segment. Look at this car which falls under budget compact sedans category, but it still has the appeal of a premium offering which will impress many.
Yes, the Tigor shares the same drivetrain with the Tiago hatchback gets the same face with few tweaks, but the similarities end there.

Undisguised New-Gen Maruti Swift Dzire Spotted As Production Starts
The new generation Maruti Swift Dzire has been spied once again but this time without camouflage. The new compact sedan will be launching soon in the Indian market and according to the latest reports has already entered production at Maruti’s Manesar plant.
Expect the launch to take place in around the month of May here in India the new generation sub-4Meter sedan will be a lot different than its predecessor. There are also rumours that Maruti will even drop the Swift badge from the sedan and will only call it Dzire.
There is no doubt in the fact that the Swift Dzire is one of the best-selling compact sedans of the Indian market. The new generation sedan is based on an entirely new platform which also supports the Baleno hatchback as well. This lightweight platform will help the Swift Dzire in the fuel efficiency department. If we talk about styling, then the next generation will take all its design cues from the new Swift.
Audi A3 Facelift Will Launch In India On 6th April 2017
Some of the reports on the internet suggest that Audi will be launching their entry level compact sedan on 6th April 2017. The A3 will be the German premium auto manufacturers third launch after the A3 Cabriolet and the A4 diesel variant for the Indian market; they have planned 10 new products for the Indian market for the year 2017.
The 2017 model A3 gets few cosmetic updates both on the exterior as well interior but the most interesting part though is that it gets a new petrol engine under the hood as well.
Visually the cosmetic updated made to the facelift sedan includes a slightly larger hexagonal shaped grille and also new LED headlamps as an option, the standard version, on the other hand, gets Bi-xenon lights. The headlight unit also integrated LED daytime running lamps as well which looks a lot sharper. Besides the new grille and the headlights, the A3 facelift also gets a redesigned front grille as well which gets bigger air vents. The side profile, however, remains identical to the pre-facelift variant however the updated sedan does get new 16-inch alloy wheels. The rear profile just like the front gets a revised bumper and tweaked and revised taillamps.
Just like the exterior the interior too has been changed as well. The dashboard remains unchanged and gets the same multimedia screen that pops out from inside. Now the Audi A3 also features a wireless mobile charger. Unlike the other International models, the A3 facelift also misses out the Virtual cockpit but instead gets the analogue instrument console.
Tata Starts Taking Pre-Bookings For Tigor Styleback Launch On 29th March
Tata Motors today commenced the pre-Bookings for their soon to be launched Tigor Styleback from today onward. The Tigor is the production variant of the Kite5 sedan which was showcased at the 2016 Auto expo and will be launching in the Indian market on 29th March 2017. The bookings for the upcoming compact sedan like we said has already commenced across all the dealerships in India with booking amounts of INR, 5000.

India Spec Tata Tigor Styleback Fully Revealed Before Its Launch With Complete Details
Tata Motors today commenced the media drive for their soon to be launched compact sedan Tigor. The Tigor is the sedan variant based on their popular Tiago hatchback, and it will be launched in India officially on 29th March.
The Tigor is production variant of the Kite5 concept car which was showcased at the 2016 Auto expo, New Delhi. Tata Motors is calling it a fastback instead of a regular sedan because they don’t want the car just be called the Tiago hatchback with a new boot. That is also the reason why Tata Motors has given the Tigor a fastback like a roofline which sweeps down beautifully towards the rear profile and blends perfectly with the rear profile, this designing can only be seen in some premium sedans.
The Tata Motors Tigor although is based on the same XO platform which underpins the Tiago hatch but it has an extended wheelbase than the regular hatchback. The extended wheelbase has resulted in slightly more rear legroom. Furthermore, the front seats of the sedan have also has been redesigned to generate more leg room. The Tiago also has a boot space of 419 Litres.

Maruti To Launch 4 New Cars In The Next Fiscal 2017-18
According to the recent reports, Maruti is all set to launch four new products in the next fiscal. India’s largest car manufacturer has launched atleast two new products each year for the past couple of years but now they want to accelerate the growth of their launch and products in order to catch a big share of the Indian Auto market.
Maruti Suzuki has already announced earlier that they will be bringing atleast 15 new products by the year 2020 and until now they have launched eight new products already, the Ignis and the Baleno RS being their last two. Now, although Maruti Suzuki officials did not mention the names of their upcoming cars but they did mention that out of the 4 upcoming products w will be completely new cars while the other two will be upgrades of their existing model.
Now it is not hard to make out that the upcoming four models will include the all new Swift Dzire and the Swift hatchback, while the upgrades will include the facelift S-Cross Crossover and the Ciaz sedan.
Maruti also has plans to increase their market share from 47 percent to 50 percent and their aim is to grow faster than the industry.

Tata To Launch Tigor Compact Sedan On 29th March
At the ongoing 2017 Geneva Motor show Tata Motors official confirmed that they will be launching the much awaited Tata Tigor compact sedan in India on 29th March 2017.
The production spec Tigor made its World premiere at the 87th Geneva Motor show. Tata Motors also showcased the Nexon SUV at the show which they also said will be launching in India towards the end of this year. According to Tata Motors, the Tigor has been designed like a styleback and it is not like any of the other 3 box sedans which are its rivals. The best thing about the upcoming sedan is that this will be the cheapest compact sedan which will be on sale in the Indian market.
As far as the styling is concerned the Tigor does get some extra features which come in the form of projector headlamps towards the front. The front bumper also has been tweaked to appear different from the ones found on the hatchback. Towards the side profile, the Tigor also gets bigger 15-inch alloy wheels as well. Expect the same cabin to be carried forward to the compact sedan from the hatchback.
Under the hood, the Tigor compact sedan will also share the same 1.2 Litre Revotron 3 cylinder unit from the hatchback while the diesel variant will get the 1.05 Litre Revotorq unit. Both the engine will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission while also expect Tata Motors to equip the top end variants with the recently introduced AMT gearbox as well.
Tata Motors Showcases The Tigor & Nexon At The 2017 Geneva Motor show
Tata Motors today showcased two special edition cars at the 87th Geneva Motor show. These cars are special because these cars belong to their next generation product lineup. The two products which we are talking about here are the India’s first ‘Styleback’, the Tata TIGOR and the bold, elegant and sporty compact SUV, the Tata NEXON.
Now Tata definitely has plans to introduce both these cars in the Indian market soon and before that, we got a preview of both these cars at the Geneva Motor show. 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class long-wheelbase

Jaguar Launches Locally Made XF In India
Jaguar launches the locally manufactured XF in India. The British Auto manufacturer’s most dynamic business sedan priced at INR. 47.50 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The premium sedan entered production at the company’s Pune plant. The XF now underpins a lighter aluminium iQ platform instead of the previous steel based platform. This new underpinning has resulted in a weight reduction of almost 190 kilograms from the overall kerb weight. Apart from the weight loss, the new platform is also much more rigid at the same time which has improved the overall handling as well.
The new-gen XF is shorter in length compared to its predecessor but has a longer wheelbase, and as a result, there has been no compromise in the interior space.
Coming to the drivetrains the locally manufactured XF gets a 2.0 Liter, four cylinder Ingenium diesel engine which is capable of producing about 180 hp of peak power and 430 Nm of peak torque. The petrol variant, on the other hand, gets the 2.0 Litre unit which produces about 240 Hp of peak power and 430 Nm of torque. Both the engines paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Jaguar offers a total of three trim levels for the new XF which include Pure, Prestige and Portfolio. While the Petrol variant offered with Prestige and Portfolio trim levels, the diesel variant is offered only with the Pure trim.
Tata’s Upcoming Compact Sedan Tigor Spotted Without Camouflage Wearing The Badge
Tata Motors Tigor sedan has surely become on of the most anticipated car of the Indian market now. It was showcased for the first time at the 2016 Auto Expo and we loved every bit of it. Now recently we also came to know that the upcoming compact sedan will be called Tigor.
