Convertibles are never out of the league. When it’s from Rolls Royce, it’s a visual treat. The British luxury car maker has rolled out their modern age convertible in form of Rolls Royce Dawn. Fresh from its 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show debut this Rolls Royce Dawn was spotted in Belgium at the Zoute Concours d’Elegance. The car comes inspired by the 1952 Rolls Royce Silver Dawn drophead, which was built only 28 special units between 1950 and 1954.
We have seen the car in Frankfurt earlier this year, but this time we got a chance to watch the car rolling on road. The sound from engine and exhaust is also audible and quite loud indeed, unlike the quieter Rolls Royce Phantom drophead Coupe. The Dawn convertible comes powered by a 6.6 litre twin turbocharged V12 engine, matched with 8 speed ZF satellite aided automatic transmission, which churns out 563 hp maximum power at 5250 rpm and 780 Nm of maximum torque at 1500 rpm. The gorgeous convertible can reach 0-100 kmph in 4.9 seconds while the top speed is 250 kmph. Eventually, the engine, the power and torque outputs are similar to the Rolls Royce Wraith, which comes powered by a 6.0 liter V12 engine producing 624 hp power and 800 Nm torque. Although, the Dawn is undoubtedly the convertible version of the Wraith, but 80 per cent of the body parts of Dawn are unique. The roof of this car takes about 22 seconds to open.
As it is said, money can’t buy the taste; this video has drawn such criticism a lot, as such an exquisite and luxurious beauty comes draped in purple velvet with gold ornamenting.
Well, we are not here to judge anyone, but this car in a London street has drawn much attention by adoring this eye grabbing purple velvet colour and that too with gold covering front grilles, all the four wheels, wing mirrors, company badges, tailgate and taillight surroundings too!
In recent time, we have seen some velvet covered cars, but nothing was like this one, and that too such a gorgeous Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe. As we came to see this video in YouTube it seems this car belongs to some rich man from Middle East. It may be testified by a recent news of spotting some middle east supercars on London roads. No wonder, this unique looking purple velvet draped Phantom has grabbed many eyes while passing through the London streets. Some criticized the owner for giving this gorgeous car an ugly look, while some just got stunned.
What do you think about it? Would like to give your exquisite car such an unique look?

This year in the ‘Best of the Show’ category the 1924 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A Cabriolet had some tough and serious contender, such as a 1914 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Kellner Torpedo Phaeton, a 1937 Delahaye 145 Franay Cabriolet and a 1953 Abarth 1100 Sport Ghia Coupé, but at the end the accolade for winner was reserved for the massive shiny black Cabriolet.
