• 2017 Renault Kwid Live For More Edition

The special edition hatchback is available with both Manual as well as AMT variants

Renault launched their entry level KWID budget offering back in 2015 and this hatchback instantly went to become hot favourite for many Indian customers who wanted a stylish looking, features packed car within a budget. The KWID went on to compete with some other entry level hatchbacks from manufacturers like Maruti and Hyundai. Recently back in 2016 Renault introduced a new variant of the hatchback which was powered by a slightly more powerful 1.0 Liter unit. Transmission options offered were a 5 speed manual as standard and an AMT unit which is offered only with the 1.0 Liter variant only besides the standard 5 speed manual unit.

Until Now Renault already sold more than 1 Lakh unit of the KWID hatchback in India and to celebrate the success of their new hatchback the French car manufacturer has introduced a new special edition variant of the KWID.

Called the Kwid Live For More Edition, this new special edition model is offered with both 800 cc and the slightly more powerful 1.0 Litre variant as well. Now although the changes to the special edition model are limited to cosmetics only still we are pretty sure that you all will love what Renault has offered with this special edition hatchback.

The KWID Live For More edition does not get any major cosmetic updates however it has received highlights in colour Red on the front grille. The roof rails also gets finished in Duel tone colours which actually goes well with the Red stripes that runs from the front of the car all the towards the rear roof spoiler. Talking about the roof spoiler in particular the roof spoiler at the rear has also been finished in contrasting Red colour.

The rest of the hatchback hasn’t received any changes though and thus looks identical to the standard hatchback.

Apart from these minor cosmetic updates on the exterior the KWID hatchback has received some minor updates inside as well. This special edition hatchback gets a stylish duel tone steering wheel cover. Unfortunately apart from the steering wheel cover there are absolutely no changes made to the rest of the interior. This KWID hatchback however gets segment first touchscreen Media/ Navigation system which definitely is something worth praising.

The KWID hatchback offers comfortable seating for 5 occupants inside while it also offers an impressive boot space at the rear as well.

Just like we already mentioned above the KWID Live For More edition is offered with both 0.8L, 1.0L and AMT variants.

The entry level KWID variant is powered by 799 cc motor which is capable of producing about 53 Hp of peak power and is paired to a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard. The engine is capable of retruning an impressive fuel efficiency figure of 25.17 kmpl. The slightly more powerful 1.0 Litre petrol unit on the other hand produces about 68 ps of peak power. This engine is also paired to a 5 speed manual transmission as standard while there is also a AMT transmission available as an option which gets fist in class AMT dials. The Renault KWID 1.0 Litre variant too promises to offer an equally impressive fuel efficiency of 23.01 kmpl while the AMT variant promises to offer 24.04 kmpl.

The prices for the Renault KWID Live For More Edition starts from INR. 2.78 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Although the changes made to the special edition KWID are limited to cosmetics but still it will help Renault to add something new to the plate of their Indian customers. However what surprises us the most is Renault still haven’t offered a passenger side airbags towards the front on any of the available variants. What is even more surprising is also the fact even the pricier 1.0 Litre variant on offer does not get passenger side airbag nor ABS even as an option. Hopefully Renault will pay attention to the safety features of the passengers more when they introduce the updated KWID variants in the coming years.
