It was a pround moment for us when India’s National anthem was played when the winner took the grand stage
10th June was definitely a historic day for Mahindra Racing because on this day Mahindra’s E Racing team successfully secured a maiden victory in the FIA Formula E Championship. If that is not all, they won the weekend’s two Berlin ePrix races by a double podium finish in the contest.
The two drivers who managed to win the race included Swedish star Felix Rosenqvist and German teammate Nick Heidfeld. While the rising Swedish star managed to secure the second position his teammate stayed right on his trail and occupied the third. Both the driver started the race from the 3rd and 4th position after participating in the Super Pole qualifying round. While exiting the first corner both the drivers managed to take the second and third place in the race and holding these positions till the end of the race. Race driver Rosenqvis overtook the competitor for the lead at the halfway point on race on lap 22 and managed to hold the lead despite his opponent di Grassi using his extra 100kJ of energy that was awarded to him by public vote in the series’ unique FanBoost initiative.
This double podium finish helped Mahindra Racing occupy the third place in the teams overall standing with just five more races remaining under the belt.
Dilbagh Gill, Team Principal, Mahindra Racing Formula E Team said, "This is a historic milestone for Indian motorsport on open four wheels. An emotional day and so rewarding for our entire team, partners, fans and colleagues back in India and around the world. We are ready to do it all again tomorrow for the second race in this double-header weekend in Berlin!"

The Williams have been working on the technique to reduce the pit stop timing in the Formula One arena for quite long time. Now the company has scored the fastest pit stops at all the Formula One races in the present season. Here is a video, which shows the fastest pit stop of 1.92 seconds at the Baku race, and it broke the Red Bull’s 2013 US Grand Prix record of 1.923 seconds. No wonder, this is some amazing feat to achieve in the Formula One arena.

Introduced in 2014, the Formula E comprises 9 teams
Formula One has been at the centre of attraction for many racing buffs around the globe. Now in 2014 when Formula E was introduced, the racing enthusiasts found something new, which is similar to the Formula One, but much more exciting than it as the Formula E cars run on electric power only, no fossil fuel.
In the first season of Formula E Championship all the teams were provided electric motor powered racing cars built by the Spark Racing Technology. The car was dubbed as Spark Renault SRT 01E. The cars used a chassis developed by Dallara, while the electric motors were developed by British automaker McLaren. The electric battery system was provided by the Williams Advanced Engineering. All the cars were equipped with a Hewland five speed transmission. Official tire sponsor was French tire maker Michelin.
In the first season a total of 42 cars were ordered. A total of ten teams participated, and each team received four cars. The Formula E cars can reach 0 – 100 kmph in just 3 seconds, while maximum speed is 225 kmph. The Formula E cars produce 80 dB noise level, while the Formula One cars make 70 dB. In the second season technical rules have been changed to allow new powertrain developers.
Many racing enthusiasts still don’t know how these Formula E cars operate. Here is a video, which describes, how the cars work.
The Italian company will provide Mahindra Formula E team technological support
Mahindra Racing Formula E team strikes a deal with the Italian automotive technology and component developer Magneti Marelli. The Italian provider will give the Mahindra Racing and two other Formula E teams technological support to improve their powertrains. The famous Italian company has experience to work in Formula One circuit, World Rally Championship and Moto GP as well.
The Italian company will develop electric motors for the Mahindra Formula E team for the third season of FIA Formula E Championship. The team will be using the racing car dubbed as M3Electro, which gets the original engine developed by McLaren. Both the Mahindra Formula E team and the Magneti Marelli believe this partnership will produce highly efficient and performance oriented electric engines for the M3Electro.
As a p[art of the deal, the Mahindra Formula E Team’s cars will sport the logo of the Italian company in the last five races of the second season and in entire third season. These cars already sported the logo at the Paris ePrix last weekend. At the ongoing Beijing Motor Show the Magneti Marelli has plan to showcase a M3Electro car which dons the logo of the Italian company.
See the battle between Scott Speed and Bruno Senna
Formula E cars are something which invokes the raging charm of car racing without polluting the environment. With the environment friendly powertrain and fast paced cars in the world of car racing Formula E cars are truly exemplary models.
What if a 225 kmph top speed capacitated Formula E car make a race with a drone. Well, that’s what happened exactly when Mahindra Racing Formula E driving Bruno Senna and his fellow driver Scott Speed took the challenge, with Scott Speed in the cockpit of Spark-Renault SRT_01E Formula E racing car and Bruno Senna with the remote of the drone. Although it was the Formula E car which won the race, but the drone was no less actually, giving tough competition to the Formula E racing car.
The Mahindra Racing Formula E team uses the Spark-Renault SRT_01E, which produces 268 hp of peak power and 230 Nm of peak torque. The rechargeable energy storage system inside the car can generate 40 hp peak power. The 888 kg racing car can reach 0 – 100 kmph in just 3 seconds with a top speed of 225 kmph. Check out the video which shows the race between Scott Speed’s Formula E racing car and Bruno Senna’s drone.
Formula E is a class of auto racing uses only electric powered cars
When Damien Walters proposed the stunt, nobody actually believed he can do it. But, when he did it so successfully everyone bursts into cheer. But what mattered most are the few seconds when he did the backflip over the fast paced charging Formula E car driven by Alistair Whitton.
The Formula E car was pacing toward Damien at a speed of around 100 kmph. Damien was standing with his back toward the car, so he couldn’t see the car. His only chance was precise timing, good reflex and anticipation. Only help he took was a clock in front of him. With the clock he has been calculating the jump timing. The professional stuntman jumped exactly 6.6 seconds after the car started charging toward him. If he jumped fraction of second earlier, he would hit the car’s back. If he jumped seconds later, his legs would have hit by the Formula E car. No wonder it was a spine chilling stunt.
The stunt was performed last month on a racing track in Mexico City. More than 60 crew members were recruited to shot the entire event. The crew included stunt experts and safety professionals. It was shot using drones, 360 degree camera mounted on the Formula E car and GoPros. Check the video here.

Fortunately the driver survived the 10 storey drop
We have seen plenty of insane videos on You Tube but today we were able to find out one such video which perhaps has left all other videos behind. In this video you can watch Tanner Foust, who also happens to be the Yellow Driver of Team Hot Wheels breaks World record for distance jump in a four wheeled vehicle.
Now because you heard hot wheels name does not mean they are attempting to make the world record jump in a toy car. The person driving the car is sitting very much inside a real life car which has been modified to perform this insane stunt. In the beginning of the video we can watch the driver and his car positioned just above a huge Orange colored track which is almost 10 storey high and the driver then accelerates his car and drops down the ramp and performs the insane stunts. Luckily he survived the jump and his car was able to successfully complete the whole long distance jump in one piece.
If you are trying to find out how far did the person actually jumped then we must inform you that the car covered a distance of 332 feet in the air for before landing in the other ramp. Watch this insane stunt and do leave us your valuable comments below.

Renault, the French auto giant has always been at the forefront of motorsports for decades. In the exciting world of motorsports Renault has been sitting at the front row for decades with their range of racing technologies. Recently at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo we got a glimpse of that technology up and close. At the Renault pavilion the French automaker showcased a stylish and gorgeous yellow Sport R.S. 01 which was a real eye candy at the Auto Expo among many other exotic machines.
The Renault Sport R.S. 01 is not a new comer at the motorsports arena. People who keeps note about the bits and bytes of world motorsports know that this car first made its public racing debut at the Jerez Track in Spain, for the last leg of World Series by Renault itself. A Formula-1 car built for track races and capable to reach 413 kmph speed mark racing in snow spraying snow behind. How does it sound? Pretty amazing to listen I must admit, but equally extreme to perform in fact.
Belgian-Dutch racing driver Max Verstappen who drives for Scuderia Toro Rosso did it with the Red Bull RB7 at Hahnenkamm mountain side of Austria. At an altitude over 1600 metres, covered with snow and in freezing temperatures the RB7 making its way was a chilling sight indeed. This was the first public snow run of any Formula-1 car ever, and for this run the title winning finely tuned RB7 was equipped with specially designed studded tyres which were covered with chains. Getting the Formula-1 car there was a challenge itself, and the organizers decided to transport the car on the mountainside by a helicopter. Not only that, the car got a special snow livery to celebrate the extraordinary snow run.
McLaren is undoubtedly the next big name after Ferrari in the Formula-1 racing circuits. The British company started making race cars way before they started making road cars. After a disappointing 2014 and 2014 seasons McLaren brought an all new car in form of McLaren Honda MP4-30; equipped with a more improved chassis and powered by Honda RA615H hybrid powertrain.
This car marks a significant partnership between the McLaren and Honda. We all know, in between 1988 and 1991 McLaren powered by a Honda engine won four world championships consistently. This was the time when McLaren had the iconic driver in their team; Ayrton Senna, arguably the best Formula-1 driver of all time in history.
In 1992 the partnership broke and McLaren took the help from Ford and Peugeot to power their cars. After two seasons with them, McLaren turned to Mercedes, and the British-German partnership lasted for two decades. In 2015 after making partnership again with Honda McLaren hoped to win another world championship after 16 years, although that didn’t happen. However, the McLaren Honda MP4-30 signifies a few bit things. This is their first model after reconciliation and it gets power from Honda’s first Formula-1 engine since 2005. This single seater beast with refined aerodynamics, new nose box and a completely new Honda hybrid powertrain will make it to the floors of upcoming 2016 Indian Auto Expo. Well, now we have plenty of reasons to be cheered up. Yes, Honda will showcase the Formula-1 car at their stall and that will definitely become the showstopper.

If you talk about hybrid powertrains, people will readily tell you hybrid cars are not fast enough, not beautiful. Well, that might be true in some cases, but not entirely. However, this decade has been the decade of hybrids. Plenty of hybrid cars have made their appearance in front of us. Porsche being one of the famed sports car makers also tried their hand in the hybrid segment. They made some beautiful vehicles which are not only beautiful and faster, but also powered by hybrid drivetrain.
Porsche 918 Spyder was one such car which has been a showpiece model in the history of sports cars. First unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show this car was depicted as the direct successor of the Porsche Carrera GT. Built in two different body types, roadster and coupe - the car was manufactured in a limited number of 918 units in the time period of 2013-2015. In March 2015, the last Porsche 918 Spyder rolled out of the assembly line. Although, this car is not anymore in production, but the legacy surrounding the beauty and superb performance is still on.

British auto manufacturer Jaguar is all set to enter the third season of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) Formula E Championship as with its own team. On 24th October, 2015 the second season of FIA Formula E has already began. It is the first global electric single seater car championship. By participating in this championship Jaguar Land Rover will be able to research, develop and test their EV powertrains, as the automobile engineers from JLR will closely work with the racing team.
Jaguar is yet to reveal the actual car, but they already published a few photographs of the upcoming Formula E car, which looks almost identical to the present generation car. Therefore it is easily assumable that the aerodynamics won’t change much. The visible changes can be seen in form of revised side pods, rear wing. Visually most striking thing about the car is the livery. The car is painted in a light gray shade, while the neon blue strips on it grab the eye. We assume the neon blue strips represent the electric powertrain beneath the shell of the car. Although Jaguar is yet to reveal any detail about the powertrain for this car, but they did mention about the collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering.
Ferrari has always been known for their exotic supercars. In 2011 Geneva Motor Show, when they first unveiled Pininfarina designed two door Ferrari FF grand tourer, it stirred quite an amusement among Ferrari lovers, as it was the first all wheel drive from the Italian auto maker’s stable. As a direct successor of Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, FF adorned an unusual design language. Unlike the usual coupe styling, Ferrari designed this car in a sporty hatchback or estate like way, which is known as the shooting brake style. Being a 4x4 technology powered exotic car it came able to go rough terrains with ease, which made it a popular model immediately after the launch. Not only that, Ferrari FF is also known as one of the few very practical cars from the Italian auto maker’s Maranello plant.
The rear seats of this hatchback/estate styled car are foldable, with which the boot space can be increased upto 800 litres, which is incredible along with the supercar like performance of this car. The entire package made this car a rare among all the exotics from Ferrari. Unveiled in 2011, Ferrari FF made its debut in 2012. Since then this car has gone through a few facelifts. Ferrari has been preparing for the next facelift for FF, and the updated model will hit the showrooms in 2016. In India, Ferrari sells FF on a request basis, and we hope we will get to see the FF in this country too.
In the meantime, TopSpeed.com has posted a few spyshots and rendered images based on those spyshots of the 2016 Ferrari FF. The car looks even more gorgeous. Before the next generation of updated FF hits the showroom floors, let’s take a detailed look at the exotic machine.
