Scorching crazy Pagani Huayra BC debuts at Geneva Motor Show
Pagani Huayra BC is the Italian sportscar maker’s honouring tribute to Benny Caiola, who was not only the first ever Pagani customer but also founder Horacio Pagani’s good friend. This car is the restyled and more powerful version of Pagani Huayra, which is already a famous car for its extreme performance. The car gets unique body work and improved aerodynamics as well. At the Geneva Motor Show 2016 this car makes its debut.
The Huayra BC sports a bit restyled front fascia, which gets new spoilers. The side profile gets new skirts, split spoke lighter alloy wheels. It gets a race spec aero kit while the BC initial can be seen at several places. Although the Huayra BC gets the same AMG sourced 6.0 litre twin turbo V12 engine like the standard Huayra, but it comes retuned to deliver better performance. The new engine produces 60 hp more power and 98 Nm more torque than the standard Huayra. The engine gets paired with seven speed automated manual gear box, and together the powertrain churns out 789 hp peak power and 1098 Nm peak torque. The Huayra BC reaches 0-100 kmph mark in 2.7 seconds, certainly making it a hyper one.
Pagani has released the launch film for Huayra BC. Check that here.
The Pagani Huayra was launched in 2011 and it succeeded the popular Zonda. The car is named after Wayra Tata which means “God of Wind”. The car is powered by a 6.0 litre twin-turbo Mercedes-AMG V12 that produces 730 HP and 1,000 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed sequential gearbox. The car features active aerodynamics. It has four flaps, two at the front and two at the rear, which opens and closes depending on the grip required by each tyre.
Performance wise, the Huayra dominated over most supercars and hypercars at that time. It won Top Gear magazine’s ‘Hypercar of the year 2012’ award. On the Top Gear show, the Huayra was the fastest car around the Top Gear test track by setting a time of 1’13”8. It was nearly 1.5 seconds quicker than the second fastest car, the Ariel Atom V8.
Unfortunately, Pagani built only 100 cars and they were sold out earlier this year. But they confirmed that a roadster version would be unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
As we are slowly stepping into the future the cars we drive are also getting faster not only in terms of top speeds but also acceleration. Few lucky Supercar owners not only buy their cars because they are exceptionally good looking or has more powerful engines than the rest but they also want their cars to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h (which is considered the first milestone mark) as quickly as possible.
Normally even some of the fastest supercars of this world from different manufacturer take atleast more than 3.0 seconds to achieve the feat but there are few exceptionally fast cars which can kiss the 100km/h mark on their speedo in less than 3.0 seconds.
Although the amount of cars which can achieve this acceleration rate are limited but we have sorted out some of the cars which are capable of reaching the 100km/h mark in less than 3.0 seconds.
Click past jump to find out the cars which can reach 0-100km/h mark (0-62 MPH) in less than 3.0 seconds.
We all know Chris Harris and of you are a regular reader of topspeed.in you might also have seen that we put up some of his videos in which he describes and drives some of the World’s most luxurious and fast cars. Today we have shared a video of him driving the exotic Pagani Huayra Yes readers you can actually watch him sitting behind the wheels of this powerful machine.
The Pagani is actually new in this auto manufacturing business but what they have done in this short period of time is actually way beyond our imagination. Horacio Pagani who happens to be the owner of this company was a man with a vision and he was the person who designed his cars and brought them to life. The first supercar that rolled out from the production line of this auto manufacturer was called the Zonda which was actually powered by a 6.0 Liter Mercedes-Benz derived V12 engine producing 394 Ps of peak power and 570 Nm of torque. The massive V12 engine was mated to a 5 speed manual transmission and this car was able to reach the 100km/h mark in just 4.2 seconds. And from there Mr. Argentinian Horacio Pagani never had to look back.
His latest creation is the Huayra which debuted back in the year 2011. The title Huayra actually has been named after the Incan god of wind. Now the Huayra is powered by a Mercedes-AMG M158 V12 twin-Turbo engine displacing 5980 cc, this engine produces about 752 hp of peak power and hold on! A staggering 1000 Nm of torque, the engine has been mated to a transverse sequential seven speed gearbox. While the car itself weighs only about 1,350 Kilograms and the weight distribution is 44 percent at the front and 56 percent at the rear.
This car has brutal acceleration and if you watch the video you will come to know more about this car and all other details.
We all know how exclusive and expensive the Pagani Huayra is. But, for some people it isn’t as exclusive as the rest of us. That’s because this chap’s job is to drive the million dollar supercar. He is the chief test driver at Pagani Automobili and he’s called, Davide Testi.
He drives million dollar supercars at their limit for a living and if you happen to be his own son, sure you can always hitch a ride in one them. Here’s a video of Davide taking his son for a ride in a matte black Pagani Huayra.
