Nissan KIcks SUV To Make India Debut Towards End Of 2018
Nissan surely made a lot of headlines last year when they launched the new GT-R Supercar in India. Although they do not have any massive launches lined this year, they surely will impress the Indian crowd next year. Believe it or not, Nissan is all set to introduce the Kicks SUV in India in Q3 2018.
According to the latest reports, Nissan will be launching the Kicks SUV will be positioned above the Terrano SUV towards the end of 2018. The Kicks was unveiled in Brazil last year, and the model sold in the South American market underpins Nissan’s V platform. However, to cut the expense, the SUV will be launched in the Indian market will underpin a whole new platform codenamed HHA. The HHA is a modified version of Renaults much talked about MO platform which underpins cars like the Duster and Lodgy in India. The MO platform also is one of the main reasons for Renault-Nissan Alliances in India.
While Renault will launch the Kaptur SUV in India this year and it will also underpin the same modified MO platform, the Kicks, on the other hand, will be launched exactly after a year underpinning the same platform.
Seven Popular Cars which Are Making A comeback Soon!
Remember the good old times, not more than a decade ago, when the Indian car market was much lesser crowded than what it was. The first 10 years of the 21st century saw the advent of most of the big giants in the country, which initiated their journey with some world class products which were much popular overseas. However, call it the end of their long lifecycle, their much-ahead-of-the-time or their ill fate of not being received with open hands, most of these globally hit cars died off after a time frame.
Thankfully, all their parent manufacturers still have some soft corners in their hearts for these cars, which is why some of them are making a full-fledged comeback, in all new generation models. These cars will now feature massive changes in and out and are planning to now shake up the well-settled up segment, rather than just creating them what their previous generation models did. Following is a list of seven such previously available cars which are making a comeback in 2017 in the Indian car market:-
10 Affordable Cars Which Features An Automatic Transmission
In recent years, we have seen a lot of new changes which our country has been undergoing through, in each and every aspect of human lifestyle. Speaking of automobiles too, we have seen the advent of various new techniques and features which have resulted in a surge in car sales, thus increasing the number of cars on the roads day by day, resulting in a kind of chaos and traffic problems, especially in metropolitan cities.
Due to rising inconvenience caused by poor traffic management, many prospective buyers are shifting towards cars which are offering the convenience of automatic transmissions. As a result, many budget cars are now being offered with an automatic transmission. In the recent years, we have seen a lot of new technologies implemented on automatic cars compared to old days; the entry-level mass market cars were available with the option of only conventional torque converters. In the recent times, we have all seen many manufacturers switching out to new and more contemporary options of automatic transmissions like CVT and AMT, which do offer the convenience of a conventional automatic gearbox, but not at the expense of lower fuel economy and higher maintenance.
In this feature, we are going to throw some light on the ten most affordable automatic cars available in the Indian car market right now, which are aimed at those potential car buyers who wants to enjoy the convenience of an automatic car but without shelling too much from their bank balance.

List of compact SUVs and crossovers available in India
We Indians buy cars for majorly enhancing or depicting our social status and growth among others, which is a hard fact but truth. No matter whatever our need is, we want the best possible package in the minimum possible price range, which has made almost all the automobile manufacturers scratch their brains and come out with unique and different products from the models available globally. Thus, there is no surprise to the admission of almost all the automakers that India is a tough market to understand.
Take for instance, the segment of compact SUVs. Now, previously, the SUVs were perceived to be an epitome of perennial success achieved by the elite class, as a result of which SUVs were totally out of reach for all the common man and middle class of the country. However, times have changed, and today, we have a huge range of compact SUVs and crossovers to choose from, which offer the versatility and road presence of large SUVs, but at a price of a premium hatchback or a C-segment sedan, making them good options for upgrading from an entry level hatchback or a sedan. Lately, we have also seen a handful of sub four meter SUVs from notable manufacturers, which was almost an unthinkable concept few years ago.
In this feature story, we have noted down all the compact SUVs and crossovers, both sub four meter and above four meter of length, which have dramatically changed the scenario of automobile manufacturers in the country. Such is the popularity of this segment in India, that all the models mentioned here are among the bread earners of their respective makers. 2017 Nissan GT-R
Are these Japanese sportscars better than the ones found in the European other side of the World? Well! This has always been a controversial question and quite honestly many of us avoid or ignore to answer it. Offcourse they are technologically advanced and are full of electronic aids which make them safest and easily drivable car on road but they never actually fit in the garage of pure car enthusiasts. The Nissan Skyline which has broken number of records and won many prestigious awards was produced in between the time period of 1969-2002. Later the Japanese auto manufacturer decided to withdraw the Skyline GT-R and introduce its successor the Nissan GT-R which no longer was a part of the Skyline range but was technologically advanced and was powered by a much more powerful powertrain.
I clearly don’t have any idea how many of Indian supercar enthusiasts are fan of these beast but you can surely find the car now at Nissan’s dealership because the Japanese auto manufacturer recently launched the facelift 2017 model here. Nissan showcased the pre-facelift model at the 2016 Auto expo and it gathered plenty of interest afterall this is their flagship sportscar that is offered to the world. Nissan unveiled the 2017 updated model at this year’s New York Auto show in March.
Although the updated car hasn’t received any major change but the subtle updates made to the Godzila surely makes it more attractive and interesting.

2017 Nissan GT-R Launched In India Important Things That You should Know About The Godzila
Nissan launched their flagship offering GTR in India priced at INR. 1.99 Crores (ex showroom Delhi). This is the facelift model which was first showcased at the 2016 New York Auto show while the car which was showcased in India at this year’s Auto expo was the pre-facelift model.
The 2017 Nissan GT-R is powered by the 3.8-litre V6 24-valve twin-turbocharged engine which is capable of producing about 570hp at 6800rpm and 637Nm of torque. Both the power and torque output has received slight bump compared to the pre-facelift model. The hand built engine is paired to a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission which transfers all that power to the four wheels via the all wheel drive system. Talking about performance the Godzila is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h mark in less than 3 seconds while it has a top speed of 315 km/h mark.
Now talking about the exterior changes the facelift GT-R actually looks a lot sharper than the old car thanks to the redesigned V motion grille which now has been finished in chrome. The grille not only looks nice but it also has some practical purpose as well. The larger grille opening now helps in providing better cooling the engine. But the bigger opening does not mean that the car lost its old drag coefficient values, Nissan has made slight altercations to the hood. The front bumper also received new chin spoiler as well which actually contributes to the sharp styling as well. What hasn’t received is those signature four ring taillamps. The updated car has features a new titanium exhaust system as well.
List of AMT equipped cars in India
In recent years, we have seen a lot of changes which our country has been undergoing through, in each and every aspect of lifestyle and technology. Speaking of automobiles too, we have seen the advent of various new technologies and features which have resulted in a surge in car sales, thus increasing the number of cars on the roads day by day, resulting in a kind of chaos and traffic problems, especially in metropolitan cities.
Due to rising inconvenience caused by poor traffic management, many prospective buyers are shifting towards cars which are offering the convenience of automatic transmissions. This is a result that many budget cars are now offered with automatic transmissions. However, most of these cars are specifically built to a cost factor, which is why most of the car makers are preferring to offer automated manual transmissions over the pricey conventional torque converters and CVTs. Speaking of the automated manual transmissions, these gearboxes facilitate manual gear changes by pressing the clutch pedal at the same time as changing gears with the usage of electronic sensors, pneumatics, processors and actuators. Adding to their popularity is the fact that these gearboxes aren’t too costly over manual counterparts, thus making them quite value for money.
In this story, we are going to throw some light on all the cars in the Indian market which are available with the choice of automated manual transmission, popularly known as AMT. Here we go:-
Among all the markets for automobiles around the world, the Indian car market is turning out to be the most savage for the auto makers, not because of the economic conditions, but for the fact that it has the most cut-throat competition, which has forced all the auto makers to evolve themselves at a faster than expected rate, and those who don’t evolve with this pace, lag behind in the race in terms of volumes as well as reputation too.
If we talk about the Indian car makers in general, all the manufactures have gradually started keeping the aspect of sales numbers above the aspiration value of offering something unique and distinctive. And they are bound to do so, as the Indian market is yet to become mature to accept something radically different. Because of this ever-increasing hunger of achieving more and more numbers, all the automakers are carrying out various steps. While they offer a number of features and variants in their already existing models, some of them are now offering multiple models in the same range, which they claim are targeted towards Indian audience with different perspectives.
However, there is one more way in which the car makers are trying to multiply their sales numbers – that of selling the pre-facelifted models with the ones which have replaced them globally. Some of the auto makers are carrying this step for the models which have helped them in establishing in the Indian market, with a touch of emotional appeal attached with them. There are some cars, which are now happily co-existing with their respective previous generation models, although, as expected, their pre-facelift models are repositioned as more basic and pared down models, so that their sense of upgrade and premium appeal is not affected.
Following is a list of all those currently available new generation cars and their respective pre-facelift models, which though are available with new names and slightly pared down and dated appeal, but still offer great practical value. Here you go:-
2017 Nissan Versa Note
Launched at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the second-generation Note arrived on a new platform that Nissan introduced with the Micra. Although slightly longer and wider than its predecessor, the new Note had a significantly lower roof, trading the former MPV-style looks for a more standard hatchback layout. The Note crossed the pond to the U.S. in 2013, when it replaced the hatchback version of the Versa and was renamed the Versa Note. The North American model also sports the biggest engine available with the nameplate globally, a 1.6-liter four-cylinder. In other markets, the Note uses a 1.2-liter three-cylinder and a 1.5-liter four-pot diesel. The Versa Note was redesigned for the 2017 model year, when it received Nissan’s recent styling language and a few interior updates.
Much like all recent redesigns and facelifts, the updated Versa Note adopted Nissan’s "V-Motion" grille, a design highlight that is already available on the majority of the company’s vehicles. In the U.S., the Verso and the Verso Note were the last models to not feature the grille. Thanks to the new "V-Motion" element, the Versa Note bears a closer family resemblance to the larger Nissan Sentra, Altima,(mot) and Maxima, while also boasting a sportier design that’s more in line with recently updated competitors such as the Honda Fit, Chevrolet Sonic, (art), Kia Rio(url) and Ford Fiesta. (ar)
"Versa Note and Versa sedan combine to be America’s best-selling nameplate in the entry level segment," said Michael Bunce, vice president of product planning. "The enhancements for the new model year give Versa Note a fresh new look, which should help keep the Versa pair in the number one position again in 2017."
It remains to be seen whether Bunce’s comment proves to be accurate with so many cars fighting for supremacy in this segment, but until those sales figures come rollin’ in, let’s have a closer look at what the facelifted Versa Note brings to the table.

Pre Bookings For The Nissan Terrano AMT Variant Commences From Today
Nissan India today started taking pre bookings for their soon to be launched Nissan Terrano AMT variant. Like we already mentioned in our last post of the Nissan Terrano that the 6 speed automatic transmission will be available only with the top-of-the-line XVD Premium grade.
This came as quite a surprise to us because wile Renault offers the AMT variant with the mid variant Nissan has decided to offer it only with the top end grade. So the same 6 speed Advanced AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) is paired to the 1.5-litre diesel engine which is capable of producing about 110 Ps of peak power and 248 Nm of torque. The addition of the new gearbox will help make driving the SUV much easier specially in the city traffic as well on the highways. For the drivers assistance the drive the AMT variant further benefits from Hill Assist Control and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) for added traction and safety.
Besides the new gearbox the AMT variant also gets a total of 14 new enhancements which is spread across its model variant. These enhancements includes folding exterior rear view mirrors with integrated turn signals, anti-pinch driver side windows, a new driver armrest, soft touch plastics on the dashboard, and door trim.
Besides all these the compact SUV also gets a completely new body colour in the form of Sandstone Brown. The ARAI rated fuel efficiency of the new AMT variant stands at 19.61kmpl.

Nissan Terrano AMT Variant Teased Ahead Of Its Official Launch
Nissan India has teased their upcoming Terrano AMT variant on their social media pages including twitter and facebook.
Renault not so long ago updated their Duster compact SUV and also added the 6-speed Easy-R AMT transmission to the Duster lineup. The ZF sourced gearbox is made available only with the top end 1.5 Litre 110 Ps diesel unit. Now because both these SUV’s share the same platform as well as the engines, expect Nissan too to equip the 6 speed AMT gearbox with the top end variant as well.
The Terrano will definitely get few mechanical updates on their AMT variant but do not expect any cosmetic changes though. Expect the new 6-speed Easy-R AMT gearbox to be paired with the 1.5 Litre K9K four-cylinder diesel engine which develops around 110 PS of peak power and 248 Nm of torque. The diesel unit promises to return around 19.64 km/l of fuel which will remain unchanged even after the addition of the new automated gearbox.
What we are also excited about is the fact that because Renault has introduced the CMO10 & T4 E&E (Engine and Electronics) architecture when they launched the updated Duster SUV in March 2016. Hopefully Nissan too will walk in the same path and introduce the same engine and electronics architecture in the Terrano as well which will lead to better handling and performance.
The Terrano AMT variant will definitely help Nissan to garner some attention during the festive season. Expect the AMT variant to be priced slightly higher than the manual variant.
