Maruti Suzuki will be launching the Ignis Crossover in India on 13th January and like we already know that it will be sold through Maruti’s Nexa dealerships. Now Maruti already showcased the Crossover recently for few selected guests in December but did not provide any details yet. But now Team-BHP has got their hands on all the leaked details of the soon to be launched Ignis.
The Ignis will be available with both diesel and petrol drivetrain options. The petrol variant will get the 1.2 Litre K series petrol engine which is capable of producing about 89 Bhp of peak power and 115 Nm of torque. While the diesel variant on the other hand will get the 1.3 Litre unit which is capable of producing about 75 Bhp and 190 Nm of torque. The engines are paired to a 5 speed manual transmission while there is also an AMT transmission option available as well with across both petrol and diesel variants. The sources also reveal that Maruti will be introducing a taxi variant of the Ignis as well which will also get the AMT Transmission as well.
Talking about the variants the Ignis Crossover will get a total of three trim levels on both diesel and petrol variants including Delta (base), Zeta(mid) and Alpha(top end) variants. Both the mid Zeta and top end Alpha will get the AMT transmission option. The particular taxi models will be made available with two petrol and one diesel variant.
Now as you are already quite aware of the fact that the top end models will get plenty of features including climate control, touchscreen infotainment system and a premium beige and black interior with body coloured inserts as well. While the Ignis will also offer plenty of safety features as well including ABS, EBD and front passenger airbag.
The Ignis will compete with the Mahindra KUV100 when it launches here and will be priced in between INR.5-8 Lakh rupees.
