whats new in this new Dzire that you all will love

Maruti launched the new generation Dzire last week, and we all actually love the fact that the new Dzire looks nothing like the old car. Infact it is also based on a completely new platform. This was also the first time in Indian history that the sedan was introduced way ahead of the hatchback upon which it is based. The new Dzire is the third generation model which speaks about its popularity in the Indian market. There is no doubt in the fact that the Dzire is one of the most preferred sub-4m sedans of the Indian market. The new vehicle is wider as well as lighter than its predecessor which makes it a fun car to drive.

Below provided are five things which you all will appreciate about this new generation Dzire sedan.

There is a particular reason why Maruti has dropped the Swift name from the car. Maruti wanted to give the Dzire its own unique identity, and that is also the reason the sedan has few distinct styling difference with the hatch. Maruti has made some changes to the new generation Dzire the A-Pillar is not at all upright like the new generation Swift there is some curve present on the top of the roofline as well unlike that of the hatchback variant. The rear profile just behind the C-Pillar also matches quite well with the overall dimension and does not look like the last minute work.

Some other subtle changes made to the sedan intentionally to make it appear different from the standard hatchback including a slightly different grille and a redesigned bumper towards the front and rear and different taillamps.

Compared to the previous generation sedan the interior of this new generation Dzire definitely looks modern and loaded. For the first time, the Dzire gets a rear AC vents which keep ahead of its rivals (Hyundai Xcent does also get a rear AC vents). This sedan also features Maruti’s new 7.0-inch infotainment system, the Android Auto which is available only with the Ignis. The top end variant also gets LED-projector headlamp setup which is only available in the Ignis other than this sedan. The Dzire also gets LED taillamps as well which comes as standard across the range.

The new generation Dzire continues with the same tried and tested 1.2 Litre K series petrol and 1.3 Litre diesel unit which also used to power its predecessor as well. The 1.2 Litre unit now produces about 83 Ps of peak power and 113 Nm of torque, but it now returns about 22.0 Km to a litre of fuel which is near about 5.5-6.0 percent improvement over its predecessor. The 1.3 Litre diesel unit, on the other hand, produces about 75 Ps of peak power and 190 Nm of torque and promises to return around 28.40 km to a litre which makes it the most fuel efficient diesel car of the Country. This improvement in overall fuel efficiency was possible because of the new lightweight platform which has helped reduce the overall weight of the new sedan to below 1000 kilogrammes.

Maruti has decided to equip the car with an optional AMT gearbox which has been made available with both diesel and petrol engines; this feature is available only in the Ignis Crossover other than the Dzire. The car also gets a 5-speed manual transmission as standard.

The 2017 Dzire is the only car in its segment which gets dual-front airbags (driver and front passenger) along with ABS (anti-lock braking system), EBD (electronic brake-force distribution) and brake assist as standard across all its 8 variants. The car also is built around a reinforced steel cage which is also stronger than its predecessor. With all these additional safety features the Dzire has become a much safer car now.
