Jaguar F-Pace Wins The Crown For Best Looking Car At The 2017 World Car Awards
The F-Pace was able to beat two other finalist and win the award
The Jaguar F-Pace has just been crowned the 2017 World Car of the Year at the New York Motor Show. The F-Pace not only won the best car of the year award but at the same time also bagged the accolade for the most beautiful car of the year as well thus scooping the prestigious World Car of Year and World Car Design of the Year titles at the same time.
The F-Pace won the top spot competing with 23 other new cars including the two great finalists including the second generation Q5 and the Volkswagen Tiguan.
Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar said: "The F-PACE is our first ever SUV but it is clearly recognizable as a Jaguar and for it to win the 2017 World Car of the Year trophy vindicates our decision to bring our unique design principles and dynamic qualities to a new sector of the market."
The F-Pace is jaguars first performance SUV from the British car manufacturer which has contributed record sales growth for the brand. The engine options for the SUV includes a 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel unit, which produces about 132 KW of peak power with CO2 emissions as low as 126g/km* to the high-performance 380PS, supercharged V6 petrol model which can accelerate from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 5.5 seconds.
Besides the F-Pace the 718 Boxster/Cayman won the World Performance Car 2017 award, while the Toyota Prius Prime won the Green car of the year award. The World Car of the Year and the other awards was chosen by a jury of 75 automobile journalists from 23 countries around the world.
