Check out our new rendering and also some exclusive spyshots of the baby F-Pace in actionby Riju Ganguly, on
Jaguar has recently officially confirmed that they will be launching a baby Crossover soon which will be positioned below the F-Pace Crossover and the upcoming i-Pace which will be their first effort in the electric SUV department. We were able to catch the first prototype of the new E-pace Crossover while it was being tested back in the year 2016 and now after a year and half the covers will finally be taken off from the E-Pace.
According to the reports, online Jaguar will be unveiling the new Crossover on July 13th, 2017 but before that our team has decided to digitally render the Crossover from all the spyshots which we collected before and from the teaser image of the E-Pace available at this moment. Like we already said in our review as well that the E-Pace will sit at the bottom of Jaguars Pace lineup of SUV’s and Crossovers and expect the pricing to starts from around $38,600 for the entry-level model, in other International markets.
WILL THIS NEW CROSSOVER LOOK LIKE BABY F-PACE?
Well! This is something that we can’t confirm at this moment but the teaser image and the spyshots the E-Pace certainly will get some of its styling inspiration from the flagship F-Pace after it this will belong to the Jaguars "Pace" family.
As you can see in this spyshots that we have provided above that the E-Pace is a much smaller Crossover and its compact dimension will be its biggest advantage which will make it ideal for urban cities. If our rendering artist is correct then like we said the Crossover would have a lot of resemblance with the F-Pace.
Expect the taillamps also to look identical to the flagship Crossover which also has taken its inspiration from their sportscar the F-Type
Towards the front, the compact Crossover will the front grille which resembles a lot to the F-Pace Crossover only bit smaller in dimension. The front bumper too gets the same kind of design inspired from the F-Pace Crossover. Our artist has decided to integrate the LED daytime running lamps inside the headlamp like the ones found in the bigger F-pace. Towards the side profile, you can expect the A, B and C pillar to be blacked out to create the floating roof like effect.
Like we have seen in our recent spyshots the mirrors towards the side profile looks the ones found in the F-Pace. The side profile also has some character lines positioned just below the door area. The bigger wheels on the Crossover will give it further strengthen its Crossover characteristics.
Towards the rear profile things looks quite identical to the F-Pace. The roof has an integrated spoiler which can also be found in the F-Pace. Expect the taillamps also to look identical to the flagship Crossover which also has taken its inspiration from their sportscar the F-Type.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THE INTERIOR
The F-Pace interior showcased here
Although our spy photographers were not able to get any images of the interior yet with the way things are going we won’t be too surprised if this upcoming Crossover’s interior too looks like a bit toned down version of the flagship F-Pace. Expect the controls and the touchscreen infotainment system positioned in the middle of the dashboard to be driver side biased. While just like their flagship offering expects this Compact Crossover to also seating for five passengers inside.
As far as space is concerned the E-Pace will most probably underpin the same platform of the Evoque and thus
WHATS UNDER THE HOOD
Pop open the hood, and you might find the 2.0 Liter diesel and petrol engines which also powers the Evoque Crossover as well. These drivetrains will produce around 240 Hp of peak power while the 2.0 Liter diesel will be capable of producing about 180 Hp of peak power. The drivetrains will be paired to an automatic transmission while we will also love to see a manual gearbox as well. Expect it to be offered with a four-wheel drive option as well.
WILL IT COME TO INDIA?
Why Not? Entry level Crossovers are in high demand here in the Indian market. The entry level Crossover will compete directly with the likes of the BMW X1 and the Audi Q3 when it finally launches here sometimes towards the next year.
