GaadiWaadi has come up with a render of the new Maruti WagonR with alloy wheels. The new WagonR will be launched in India on the 23rd January but will not be offered with alloy wheels on any of the versions. This feature is being offered on the current model. The render however gives us a view of how the car looks with alloys.

GaadiWaadi has not revealed which alloy wheels they picked for the render but seems to be from the older generation Ertiga. Size seems to be 14-inches and the alloys are finished in silver. The result is pretty neat and makes the WagonR look classy. It wont be wrong to say the new Maruti WagonR with alloy wheels looks like a mini Ertiga.

New Maruti WagonR alloy wheels

Not offering alloy wheels comes at a surprise to us. We say this because the smaller Celerio and rival cars like the Tata Tiago offer this aesthetic feature. The new Maruti WagonR is based on an advanced Heartec platform and will offer increased passenger space, more features, an upmarket cabin and an optional larger 1200cc motor from the Swift / Baleno / Dzire. This will be its biggest strength and this 1.2 motor will also offer an optional AMT or automated manual transmission.

New Maruti WagonR price and need

Maruti is not expected to increase the price of the new WagonR and it will lock horns with its arch rival, the Hyundai Santro. Media drives are scheduled for last week of January and this is when reviews will start pouring out. The WagonR has been among the top 5 selling cars in India. It is very popular in the commercial segment with operators like Ola and Uber absorbing hundreds of units each month. Maruti might plan to retain the current WagonR for the same purpose and offer the new gen model to private buyers. Either which way, they have another winner on their hands for sure.
