The car gets 4 side doors while in the Clubman you will also find a long roof extended wheelbase and a fin shaped roof antenna.

The Clubman is also 27 cm longer, 9 cm wider while its wheelbase is also 10 cm longer than the usual four door hatchback. Furthermore the seats inside are fully fledged seats. The Clubman also provides an impressive amount of boot space at the rear.

Some variants also gets an additional high end decorating strips and for the central console and the door panels as well. Overall the cars interior looks big and spacious it provides comfortable seating for 5 occupants inside courtesy to the extended wheelbase. Without the seats being folded down the the Clubman provides about 360 Litres of boot space. However with the rear backrests folded in 40: 20: 40 folding split helps in extracting maximum storage space of 1, 250 Litres.

As far as the reports suggests the Mini Clubman will be launched in the Indian market in two variants, the Cooper S and the Cooper D. While the Cooper S is powered by 2.0 Litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology which helps in producing about 192 hp of peak power at 5 000 rpm and maximum torque of 280 Nm produced at 1 250 rpm. This car also produces 300 NM of torque with overboost. Talking about performance the Mini Cooper S is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h mark in just 7.2 seconds while it can reach a top speed of 228 km/h mark.

The other variant which is also expected to launch in the Indian market is the Mini Cooper D Clubman which is powered by a 2.0 Litre, twin turbocharged 4 cylinder diesel engine. This unit produces about 150 hp of peak power at 4 000 rpm and maximum torque of 330 Nm at 1 750 rpm. This variant can accelerate from 0-100 km/h mark in 8.6 seconds while it has a top speed of 212 km/h mark.

Both the engines are paired to a 8 speed automatic gearbox which sends all those power to the front wheels.

Mini has always been known for its ride and handling and the Clubman is also not so different. The car gets single-joint strut front axle with completely newly developed components and multilink rear axle. The Clubman’s overall width, and weight are also optimised for better construction and level of stiffness and it also gets a larger track as well. The car has also received an electro mechanical steering wheel as well.

The Mini Clubman gets an option of 16 or 17 inch alloy wheels. The Mini also gets different driving modes as well which is optionally available as well. There are three different driving modes which includes MID, SPORT and GREEN modes. These modes can be selected with the help of the rotary switch which is positioned towards the base of the gear lever.

MINI has launched the second generation MINI Clubman in India priced at INR 37,90,000 (ex-showroom New Delhi).

Mini has been successful in what they really wanted to make out of the Clubman. The car still retains the identical Mini styling but is not actually mini like its other siblings. The inside of the car provides plenty of space without actually intervening the leg space and comfort of the rear seat passengers. The extended wheelbase and the enhanced overall dimension have actually worked in favour of the car. There are also plenty of engine options too which are available as well. According to Mini the enhanced overall dimension did not take away its Go kart like handling characteristics.

We will definitely update you with more details as soon s the car is launched in the Indian market on December 16th 2016.
