He is one of the biggest business tycoons of India, chairman of India’s largest and oldest business conglomerate. We have seen him very quiet at difficult times. As it seems he is a very private person, and world knows nothing about his life away from his office.

We are talking about Ratan Naval Tata, the ex chairman of Tata Group. For decades we have seen Mr. Ratan Tata pioneering the Indian automotive industry to a new dimension. It is no surprise, that Ratan Tata has been emotionally attached with Tata Motors. He made the impossible task possible with the Tata Indica and Tata Nano. To put it in a simple way, we can say, Ratan Tata is crazy about cars, in his personal life and professional life as well.

During his tenure as the chairman of Tata Group, he has been spotted many times behind his exotic car’s steering near his residence on South Bombay roads. It is also a known fact that every weekend he takes his cars for a spin. Now, as he has retired from the post, he invests more time for his exotic rides. He is also known as one of the few business tycoons around the world who loves to take the seat behind the steering wheel rather than being seated at the rear and driven by chauffeur. Inside Ratan Tata’s garage there are dozens of beautiful cars and we tried to bring you one look at them.

If you do little research you will find that Mercedes introduced the SL way back in the year 1954, and thus this has to be one of the those iconic cars which has helped build this premium German car maker their reputation. The SL-Class was called the SL Roadster before 1994 and the term SL means ‘Super Light’ which actually defines the cars character because when Mercedes-Benz introduced the sixth generation car back in 2012, it featured new aluminum body shell which was actually a lot lighter than its predecessor. Besides the lightweight body shell the Convertible was way better looking and also featured a hardtop which also came with an optional panoramic sunroof as well.

November 2015, Mercedes-Benz introduced a facelift variant of the Convertible at the Los Angeles Auto show and boy oh boy! It attracted plenty of attention. The new SL gets a revised front and rear fascia; the hardtop can now be operated at speeds of upto 40 km/h, the interior too has been revised.

The convertible is available with 4 variants which includes the entry level SL 400 powered by an updated V6 unit, while the SL 500 gets V8 unit, there are two AMG variants available too which comes in the form of the SL 63 and the SL 65. The later are equipped with more powerful V12 units and AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission.

The entry level SL 400 now produces even more power and torque amount which is good news for those who wants a practical Roadster. The best thing about the SL-Class is that it is an all season car which promises to provide you all the comfort as well besides being sporty and responsive. The new and updated SL Class will go on sale from the first half of 2016 and it will also surely make its presence felt in the Indian market next year only.

Sporting dynamics and quality, that’s what you want from your convertible. Convertibles are special cars, even in India where the weather isn’t right. There’s no denying the charm of driving with the roof down and the wind in your hair. And for the days when it is simply too hot or dusty, just fold up the metal roof of the SL350. It takes all of 16 seconds for the roof to fold and the SL is one of the most user-friendly sportscar you could buy. SLs do not come along very often and since the model line’s inception in 1954, there have been only five generations. The latest SL is a facelift of the fifth generation, which has been in production since 2001. The Mercedes-Benz SL typically arrives with some of the best in equipment, innovation and luxury that Mercedes has to offer. The SL in India comes with either a 3.5-litre, V6 petrol which is priced at Rs 99,23,954 ex-showroom New Delhi and on offer are also the AMG variants.
