The Mercedes Benz CLS was introduced by the premium German car maker way back in the year 2004 while the second generation CLS Class was introduced later in the year 2010 but its production begun only in 2011, the CLS which is based on the old generation E class platform is a good looking and stylish 4 door sedan which is packed with lots of goodies inside and a powerful engine to provide a fun filled experience to the driver.
We all are quite aware of the fact that Mercedes Benz recently has taken an aggressive marketing strategy both for our national and International market as well and that is the reason why they not only introduced exciting new products to strengthen their portfolio but also upgraded some of their old products with new design technology and features which in turn has made the already existing products look new and different. That is also the case with the CLS, Merc has unveiled a facelifted version of the CLS Class in the International market which comes with interesting new features and some technical upgrade as well. Recently Mercedes Benz launched the CLS250 CDI in the Indian market and apart from the new and developed engine it is now even more affordable.
The CLS Class is called sportscar under the skin of a 4 door sedan, although Mercedes launched only the 250 CDI variant of the car which is powered by the 2.1 litre Diesel motor which produces just enough power and torque to satisfy your needs. This new car will be replacing the old CLS which was powered by the powerful 3.5 Litre V6 unit which used to produce 300+ BHp of peak power.

Oh Yeah!! We all are excited about the upcoming CLA 45 AMG from Mercedes Benz. The German auto manufacturer has already updated their website with the baby AMG details and now they have also launched an India specific Television Commercial for the CLA 45 AMG on You Tube. Now all this indicates to only one thing and that is the launch of this entry level AMG sedan is not far way.
In the Television Commercial we can clearly see that the new baby AMG is beautifully introduced in a classy Mercedes way. They also are calling their new baby AMG as India’s first compact performance sedan.
Quite honestly the new Mercedes CLA 45 AMG is one aggressive looking compact sedan which will definitely attract everyone’s attention, this may not be as powerful as the other bigger sedans from the AMG stable but this compact beauty surely packs quite a lot of punch from its AMG tuned 2.0-litre turbo engine, this engine produces about 360 Hp of peak power and 450 Nm of torque. The engine has been mated to a SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission which enhances the fun of driving this car. If you are thinking that this is just a 2.0 Liter engine and may not be as fun to drive then think again! Because this entry level AMG sedan is fast and can reach the 100 km/ mark from standstill in just 4.1 seconds while the top speed is limited to 250 km/h mark.
Yes! this new baby from AMG store is aggressive and extremely capable machine which will soon take on its other competitors in the Indian market.

We all are quite aware of the fact that Mercedes-Benz also followed the footsteps of Audi and BMW and installed MULTIBEAM LED headlamps on their new generation CLS-Class. These modern headlamps will help provide greater visibility of the road ahead and help to sense dangers better during night time driving.
The CLS Multibeam LED headlamps consists of 24 individually controlled high-performance LEDs which illuminates the road better than conventional headlamps and also controls the distribution of exceptionally bright lights and also prevents dazzling other drivers on road.
In this video Florain Herold who is the development engineer in light systems explains how the new lighting system works and the advantages of this newly developed light system. A camera placed behind the windscreen delivers all the information to the four control units to deliver the ideal light pattern almost 100 times per second. The Multibeam LED headlamps unit consists of 24 individual high performance LED chips which can be controlled individually. Florian also explains that the actual highlight of this lighting system as already mentioned above is that it prevents the headlamp from blinding other drivers on the road and thus allowing the highbeam function to be turned on all the time. This Multibeam LED headlamp with the help of the camera detects a bend ahead and illuminates the bend before the car enters that bend.
As a result of all this sophisticated technology you get top class illumination and confidence to drive even on the darkest road without any fear.

This Mercedes design is a definite hit. The manufacturer has unveiled an all-new model of the CLS Shooting Brake. The CLS four-door coupe segment was created back in 2004 which gave birth to the likes of the Audi A7 and the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe. The Shooting Brake combines the practicality of an estate with the style of a coupe. The swoopy estate is set to go on sale in the UK from November and a possible India launch could be in 2013. Developed under the codename X219, internationally it will be positioned above the E-class estate. According to Mercedes this five-door coupe-estate is a representation of a "sports car with five seats and a tailgate". The CLS Shooting Brake is slightly longer and wider than the E-Class estate and features lots of aluminium to help keep it light.
The Mercedes CLS 63 AMG has always been about performance, and the new 63 AMG is no different. There is a completely new engine (information of which is sure to surprise you) but the manufacturer claims that the new CLS 63 AMG consumes 32 percent less petrol than its predecessor. It is a less polluting motor and despite being an AMG there is an ECO light in the instrument console. Don’t be mislead, we are here talking about an AMG which despite all these changes Mercedes claims still delivers mind-numbing performance. AMG’s have always delivered performance matching BMW’s M division and to it is an underling seriousness of purpose. The new CLS 63 AMG apart from receiving a bespoke engine and transmission, also gets a new front axle, modified suspension and steering system. Price for the 2011 CLS 63 AMG ex-showroom New Delhi is Rs1,40,00,000.
