Elegance, Class and Engineering are perhaps the three parameters which describes the new E Class Cabriolet perfectly. However as the other Cabriolets are adopting sportier Avatar Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet likes to keep the old heritage and traditions alive and has not actually changed the old cloth top roof with some more sophisticated foldable hard top and quite honestly if you ask me it looks classy. Unfortunately this car is counted as amongst one of the few open top 4 seater convertible available yet in the market.

Mercedes Benz introduced the new E Class in 2013 and as expected with many body forms including the Coupe, Estate, Cabriolet and sedan forms. The German premium auto manufacturer launched the E Class sedan and the more powerful AMG E63 AMG in India already and now there are talks that they will also be introducing the Cabriolet in India which will be targeted towards the niche audience of the country. That said, let us focus on the car which looks dead gorgeous and can make you fall in love with it again and again.

The E Class Cabriolet is available with different engine options but the car that has been chosen for our Indian market is the E400 Cabriolet which is powered by a V6 unit and produces an impressive amount of power and torque at the same time. This may not serve you as your daily drive but can surely top your luxury parameter and fulfill all your wishes during a weekend getway trip with your friends and family.

Together with the other airbags and the NECK-PRO head restraints, which can reduce the risk of whiplash, they provide all-round protection for the driver and front passenger.

Safety body. Right from the outset the E-Class Cabriolet was designed with the safety of its occupants in mind. That’s why much of the body consists of high-strength and maximum-strength steel. The passenger compartment, in particular, has cabriolet-specific reinforcement in the floor and side area. At the same time the high torsional strength and the lightweight construction provide the ideal basis for outstanding driving dynamics.

Roll-over protection. The upper windscreen frame and the A-pillars are exceptionally robust. The A-pillars have been reinforced with tubing, offering effective occupant protection together with the roll-over bars in case of roll-over. The roll-over bars’ cassettes are fully integrated in the rear head restraints and fastened to the area behind the rear seat backrest in the body-shell. They can be extended in fractions of a second as soon as the airbag control system’s crash sensors detect the risk of an accident.
