Maruti Suzuki today declared that their K-Series engine has crossed the 25 Lakh milestones today. Now let us inform you that the K-Series engine powers the following hatchbacks namely Celerio, Alto K10 and Wagon R which comes out from the stable of Maruti Suzuki.
This K-Series engine which was introduced in the year 2008, with the A-Star hatch is extremely lightweight, compact and fuel efficient and brings the next generation Petrol engine technology with it, however beside the conventional fuel the K Series engine also uses alternate fuel CNG and LPG fuels. This engine which is now used in the recently launched products such as the Celerio, Ertiga and DZire has an improved combustion, reduced mechanical friction and also Optimization of engine control system all the above mentioned improvements resulted in more fuel efficiency.
Mr. C.V Raman, executive director, engineering, Maruti Suzuki said, that the K Series engine is one the most refined gasoline engine technologies which is available in India, this new engine combines the best of fuel efficiency while also returning impressive overall performance. MR. Raman also included that Maruti Suzuki is trying to improve and develop this engines so that they would become more fuel efficient, emits lower emissions and also return superior performance along with lower NVH.
Strikes and competition has taken the sheen off Maruti’s sales as the company witnesses their sharpest fall of sales in over a decade. This has prompted India’s largest passenger car manufacturer in considering contesting the sub-800cc segment. At the Auto Expo in New Delhi the manufacturer will be showcasing the Palette and MR Wagon minicars.
