Maruti Suzuki recently launched the Celerio hatch in the Indian market. This was really a special car for many because Maruti launched a hatch in the Indian market after a long period of time and that also equipped with a AMT transmission which made it even more special. Now only yesterday Maruti Suzuki launched the Celerio Green which has a factory fitted advanced Intelligent Gas Port Injection CNG technology.

The new variant of the Celerio Green is BS 4 compliant and uses the CNG fuel which ensures that the overall emission level are kept to a minimum while returning an impressive amount of mileage at the same time.

Although nothing much has changed about the hatch expect the additional factory fitted CNG fuel tank at the boot of the car but has it cut its way into the boot space which can be a big concern for many and how much safe is this new factory fitted CNG kit we will try to find it all.

Nothing has changed in this Celerio fitted with the CNG Kit. The Celerio was a stylish looking hatch which was first unveiled at the 2014, Auto expo and was launched recently in the Indian market. This car became an instant hit and attracted all the age group of customers because first of all this came out from the stable of one of the most trusted auto manufacturer of the Country and secondly because of its aggressive pricing and that AMT gearbox which is a segment first feature introduced by Maruti.

However the Celerio Green that we are talking about here is available with a factory fitted iGPI technology (intelligent Gas Port Injection) which also comes with a fuel inlet fitted with a Micro Switch for safety, a factory fitted CNG fuel tank at the boot of the car as already mentioned above and along with a spare tyre which has been placed perfectly alongside the CNG fuel tank.

Maruti has yet not revealed how much space does the whole CNG Kit takes and thus we are unable to tell you at this moment the exact numbers, but it definitely covers more of the boot area than the Petrol or diesel variant and thus you will get a smaller boot space compared to its other variants.

The Celerio Green is only available on the VXi trim (Manual Transmission) and thus it comes with couple of comfort feature inside the car which has been provided below:

The Celerio CNG Green is available with a 1.0 liter K series engine which produces 59 Ps of peak power at 6000 rpm and 78 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm when driven in the CNG mode but the same engine generates 68 Ps of peak power and 90 Nm of peak torque at 3500 rpm when driven in Petrol mode. It has been mated to a 5 speed manual transmission unfortunately you won’t get the AMT variant with the VXI Trim.

The Bi-fuel option allows longer drives and there is even a switch on the dashboard via which you can change from CNG mode to Petrol mode anytime you want to. The integrated display at the dash displays the various fuel mode and fuel level in the car. Maruti claims that the Celerio green will return 32.79 Km/ Kg in CNG mode.

According to Maruti the iGPI technology, used in the Celerio Green ensures high performance throughout and is equally exciting to drive like its petrol variants. It even has duel ECUs which ensures and delivers the right amount of fuel quantity to engine and as a result the Celerio Green delivers brilliant performance and also improved fuel efficiency.

The Celerio Green helped Maruti to expand its CNG portfolio further. The auto manufacturer also provides the same CNG technology in five other models which includes Alto 800, Wagon R, Ertiga, SX4 and Eeco.
