These ratings were given on the cars overall performance in crash test protection as well as crash avoidance technologies provided in the car.
The car used in the crash test was equipped with basic safety features and was the 1.2 Litre GL, right-hand drive variant. This particular variant was fitted with both driver and front passenger airbags and also belt pretensioner and Belt Loadlimiter for the front passengers. The 2017 Swift was the International spec hatch, and thus it also featured side head airbag for the front as well as the rear passengers. The Car also featured side chest airbag and side pelvis airbag for the front passengers. The kerb weight of the five-door hatchback rated at 855 Kilogrammes.
The car scored 83 percent for the overall safety of the adult occupants inside while for the safety of the child it scored 75 % and 69 % for the pedestrian safety. Regarding overall safety assists, the Swift hatchback scored only 25 percent. Although the car scored fairly in the European NCAP crash test the key difference between the Indian spec Swift and this car tested here will be a lot. The Indian spec Swift variant will likely get only the front airbags as standard while this particular got 4 additional airbags.
whats new in this new Dzire that you all will love
Maruti launched the new generation Dzire last week, and we all actually love the fact that the new Dzire looks nothing like the old car. Infact it is also based on a completely new platform. This was also the first time in Indian history that the sedan was introduced way ahead of the hatchback upon which it is based. The new Dzire is the third generation model which speaks about its popularity in the Indian market. There is no doubt in the fact that the Dzire is one of the most preferred sub-4m sedans of the Indian market. The new vehicle is wider as well as lighter than its predecessor which makes it a fun car to drive.
Below provided are five things which you all will appreciate about this new generation Dzire sedan.
what to expect from this upcoming hatchback
Some of the rumours state that Maruti will be launching the new facelift Celerio in India soon. This car, when launched back in 2014, was popular for its AMT transmission; as a matter of fact, the Celerio was the first Maruti hatchback which featured AMT transmission. The upcoming hatchback will receive its first mid-life update soon, and the rumours also suggest that that the car will be made more attractive and will feature some new technologies to compete with some of its rivals who has earned lots of popularity within the few years of their launch.
The details of the changes to the facelifted hatchback are scarce at this moment, but it will definitely get a restyled exterior as well as interior to keep things fresh until and unless Maruti launches the new generation car. As far as the drivetrain is concerned Maruti has no intentions of making any changes under the hood of this hatchback. Maruti introduced a diesel variant of the Celerio back in 2015 but was later discontinued due to poor sales figures.

The three new launches include two facelift cars and another completely new offering
Maruti surely has planned a series of launches for the year 2017, they already introduced the sportier Baleno RS and the new generation Dzire, and now they are planning to launch some more products before the end of this financial year. The already launched cars include the Baleno RS which is the sportier variant of the existing Baleno hatchback powered by a new 1.0 Litre Boosterjet unit. The Dzire, on the other hand, is a new generation sub-4m sedan which is based on an entirely new platform and also gives us a glimpse of the new generation Swift hatchback.
Now according to the recent reports Maruti has also planned three new products for the year 2017 out of this three new cars two will receive mid-life facelift while the other one will be a new generation car.
Below provided are the list of cars which will be launched by Maruti Suzuki in the next couple of months
There is a fair chance that its hatchback sibling might get the 1.0 Litre Ecoboost unit instead
Even before the launch, we all thought that Maruti will get a more powerful engine under the hood alongside the regular 1.2 Litre and the 1.3 Litre diesel unit. The rumours almost seemed true when we heard that the new generation Dzire will use the new platform which also underpins the Baleno hatchback. Now because Ford has already introduced a sports variants of their Figo Aspire sedan there was a possibility that Maruti might have introduced a slightly powerful and sportier Dzire variant in India. We all thought that the sportier Dzire will get the slightly more powerful 1.0 Litre Boosterjet unit. This is the same unit which also powers the newly introduced Baleno RS.
The 1.0 Litre, three cylinder Boosterjet unit produces about 102 Bhp of peak power under the hood of the Baleno RS. However, Maruti has called this rumours baseless and denied that they do not have any plans of introducing the more powerful unit of the Dzire. They also stated that sedans are for everyday use and leisurely drive people would rather be interested in buying a sporty hatchback than a sedan.
We say that although the Dzire might not get the powerful engine but there is a fair chance that Maruti might decide to power their upcoming new generation Swift hatchback with the 1.0 Litre unit which produces way more power than their 1.2 Litre unit.
For all your information once again the Dzire is available with the same 1.2 Litre K series petrol and the 1.3 Litre Multijet diesel unit and is priced in the range of Rs 5.45 lakh for the entry-level petrol to Rs 9.41 lakh for the top end diesel unit.
The new generation sedan is built on a completely new platform and is lighter than its predecessor
Since there is still some time before Maruti launches the new generation Swift hatchback in India, the Swift Dzire is definitely the next big thing that we all have been looking forward from the Indian auto manufacturer. Now that we know Maruti will be launching the new generation Swift Dzire in India on 16th May 2017 thus expect the bookings to commence from 1st of May onward. Let us get straight into the details of the most popular compact sedan of India.
Maruti had already made quite a name for themselves when they introduced the first generation Dzire back in 2008 and now with the new generation Dzire they surely expecting bigger sales figures. What is surprising is also the fact that Maruti has even dropped the Swift nameplate from the car to give the compact sedan its own identity.
The best thing is that the new generation Dzire will be based on a whole new platform which has helped in reducing the overall weight of the car.The only bad news is that The Dzire will continue to be powered by the same 1.2-litre VVT, while the diesel is the 1.3 DDiS, we also do not expect the numbers to be a whole lot different than the existing car.

The new Dzire will get plenty of safety features as standard and available across 8 trim levels
Maruti is all set to launch the new generation Swift in India and like you already know by now this will be replacing the old model which is for sale in the Indian market for quite some time now. The new generation Dzire is based on an entirely new Heartect platform which also underpins two of the other Maruti’s new generation products including the Baleno and the Ignis. This Platform is not only agile but lightweight at the same time. This lightweight platform has actually helped the Swift to shed a lot of weight. The new sub-4 meter sedan is now lighter than its predecessor and thus might be more fuel efficient as well at the same time.
Apart from its new exterior styling the car also gets a bigger and far more proportionate looking boot. As far as the drivetrains are concerned the new Swift will likely continue with the same drivetrains which used to power its predecessor. Thus the petrol drivetrain gets the 1.2 Litre K series engine which produces around 82 Bhp of peak power while the diesel variant will continue with the same 1.2 Litre unit which produces about 75 Bhp of peak power and around 190 Nm of torque. Both the engine will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard while there will also be an AMT as an option available both with diesel as well as petrol drivetrains. The recent reports state that while the gasoline drivetrain claims to return around 22 Kmpl to a litre the diesel variant, on the other hand, promises about 28.4 kmpl making the Dzire the most fuel efficient diesel sedan available in the Country.
The new Dzire will be launched with a total of eight variants which includes the LXi, LDi, VXi, VDi, ZXi, ZDi, ZXi+ and ZDi+. The LXi being the base and the ZDi+ being the top end variant. This car also gives us a glimpse and idea of what you could expect the new generation Swift which will be launched in the Indian market soon.
Below provided are the list of variants that the new Dzire will get and also the features that the each option will be getting
The sedan will be launched in India next week
The accident is shocking news for all of us who are eagerly waiting for the launch of the new generation Maruti Dzire. Just a few days before the launch the new generation Dzire was involved in a high-speed crash with a Tata Safari Storme in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. These images show the aftermath scene of the crash site; it is quite clear from the pictures that the Dzire suffered more damage than the Safari Storme.
The badly mangled Dzire side profile depicts the severity of the collision which also raises a huge question once again upon the safety of the occupants of the car. The Dzire took most of the impact towards the driver side door, and rear passenger door and the sheet metal was completely ripped off from the body structure which once again proves that Maruti still isn’t serious about the protection of the occupants inside. Although the severity of the accident is unknown thus we cannot blame the company directly at this moment but compare to the Dzire the Safari Storme looked like that it too less impact but still the front right side portion of the SUV is damaged beyond repair. No information about the occupant’s conditions is available at this moment.
