Launched during the time of the festive season this top spec surely will turn heads because it offers plenty of goodies to keep the buyers happy. On the outside, the top spec trim gets a slightly tweaked front grille with Black Chrome inserts. The redesigned, headlamp units make the SUV one of the first in its segment to receive static bending lamps which will help illuminate the corners, especially when driving at night. The front profile also gets stylish fog lamps with premium Black inserts. Apart from these changes one another major cosmetic change comes in the form of a new Grey alloy wheels alongside new Metallic Grey roof rails. Lastly, the top spec TUV300 also gets an additional glossy metallic Grey finish on the tailgate-mounted spare wheel.
Inside the cabin, there are few sophisticated changes as well which has helped in making the interior look plusher. The TUV300 T10 variant gets a new faux leather seat. There is a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system as well which gets Wireless Bluetooth calling music and Audio calling besides GPS navigation USB video and image playback option.
The TUV500 will take on the Ertiga and Lodgy when it launches here.
We have already reported that Mahindra is working on a long wheelbase version of the TUV which will most probably be called TUV500. Recently Autocar India was able to spot the upcoming SUV while it was being tested on the Indian roads. Although the SUV was wrapped in heavy camouflage but the source was able to extract information about the powertrain which will sit underneath the hood of this new upcoming SUV.
The good news is that compared to the TUV300 which has received many negative reviews because of its underpowered engine, the long wheelbase version will be powered by a bigger 1.99 Litre diesel unit. This is the same diesel mill which also powers Scorpio, Xylo as well as the XUV500.
The 1.99 Litre engine is the downsized version of Mahindra’s renowned 2.2 Litre M-Hawk engine. This engine was introduced not so long ago in the Indian market so that they could sell the SUV’s in the markets of Delhi and NCR regions. The engine capacity has been downsized by reducing the engine strokes. Although this is actually a smaller engine compared to the 2.2 Litre unit but it produces more power when compared to the bigger unit.
The XUV500 with the new 1.99 Litre unit produces about 142 Hp of peak power instead of 140 Hp on the bigger 2.2 Litre unit. While the Xylo with the smaller unit now produces about 122 Bhp instead of 120 Bhp with the bigger unit.
Expect the new upcoming TUV500 to also get the same 1.99 Litre engine which will produce around 120 Hp of peak power.
Gets three row seating and slightly more premium interior
A mysterious Mahindra SUV wrapped in heavy camouflage was spotted recently being tested on road leaving a hint that Mahindra is actually planning to add another SUV to their vehicle lineup.
The new SUV which was recently spotted had lot of similarities with the already existing TUV300. However the SUV which was spotted wrapped in heavy camouflage appeared like it was longer than the existing compact SUV, This actually means that perhaps this upcoming SUV is based on a long wheelbase platform and thus expect this upcoming SUV to get three row seating like some of the bigger SUV’s of the Mahindra lineup.
This SUV was spotted for the first time which means that Mahindra has already started testing the SUV on road and thus all of you can expect this SUV to hit the Indian road sometimes next year. So without any further due below provided are all the details of this new upcoming SUV from Mahindra.

The new paint sheme is available only with the top end T8 manual variant
Mahindra has launched a completely new duel tone paint scheme for their compact SUV TUV300. This initiative was taken by Mahindra during the festive season to boost sales of their compact SUV.
The duel tone colour scheme gets a combination of silver exterior body colour while the roof gets painted in Black. Besides the Black roof the pillars are also blackened as well. The new duel tone paint scheme T8 variant also gets this front and rear bumpers too finished in duel tone colour scheme as well.
This completely new duel tone paint scheme will only be available with the top end T8 variant manual transmission. The T8 variant gets the M hawk 100 diesel drivetrain which is capable of producing about 100 Bhp of peak power at 3, 750 rpm and 240 Nm of peak torque in between 1, 600-2, 800 rpm.
The new colour variant is priced at INR. 9.15 lakh(Ex showroom, Delhi) for the top end T8 variant which is actually INR. 15, 000 more than the standard colour variant. The other colours options which are available with the TUV300 include Verve Blue, Dynamite Red, Molten Orange, Glacier White, Majestic Silver, Bold Black and Bronze Green.
The new colour option will be available along with the existing options
Mahindra has added a new colour option for their TUV300 compact SUV on the special occasion of Independence Day. The Bronze Green colour option which looks close to the army Green colour will now be available along with six other colour tone options already available with the TUV which include Dynamo Red, Bold Black, Molten Orange, Majestic Silver Verve Blue and Glacier white.
The TUV300 is Mahindra second compact SUV offering and is positioned underneath the Nuvosport. Launched in 2015 the SUV was available with 1.5 Litre, three cylinder, mHawk two staged turbo diesel unit which churned out about 84 Bhp of peak power and 230 Nm of torque, the engine was paired to 5 speed manual transmission while there was also an option of first-in-class ‘autoSHIFT’ technology (Automated Manual Transmission) as well. Later in May 2016 Mahindra decided to introduce the Nuvosports mHawk 100 engine as well which is actually more powerful and updated variant of the 1.5 litre unit. This version produces slightly more power 100 Bhp and 240 Nm to be exact and is paired to the same 5 speed manual or AMT transmission.
The TUV300 competes with some other compact SUV’s like the Ford Ecosport in India and what is even more surprising is also the fact that the diesel engine will later also be accompanied by a petrol variant as well.
Mahindra TUV300 has been designed inspired from battle tank
When Mahindra launched the TUV300, the all new SUV with a rugged and tough appearance, everyone was pretty surprised to see the design. The car boasts a design inspired from battle tank. The TUV300 was launched on 10th September, 2015. Aesthetically the car is not so good looking. But it is a boxy looking SUV with capability of little bit off-roading. Here we have found a video, which shows a White coloured Mahindra TUV300 taking an off-road trail near Cherrapunjee. Surely the car comes pretty powerful with the all new 1.5 litre mHawk 2 stage turbocharged diesel engine which is paired with a 5 speed manual gearbox. There is an AutoShift technology on offer as well. The engine churns out 84 bhp of peak power and 230 Nm of peak torque. The car comes with a body on frame chassis, which has been derived from the Scorpio. Here, take a look at the video of the Mahindra TUV off-roading.
We did inform you all when Mahindra decided to introduce a more powerful variant of their popular compact SUV because of the complaints they have received from their existing customers about the slow nature of the SUV. So Mahindra decided to launch a more powerful mHawk engine under the hood of the popular TUV300 SUV. This engine is the same unit which also powers their more powerful Nuvosport SUV which is the facelift variant of their Quanto SUV.
Unfortunately the mHawk100 unit is available with only the top end T8 and T8 AMT variant. This new engine not only adds more power but it also significantly provides more torque which is available just with a press on the accelerator.
Coming to the Mahindra TUV300 compact SUV, the TUV300 was launched last year in India and it was here to compete with some other competitors of the compact SUV segment like the Ecosport and the recently introduced Maruti Vitara Brezza. The takes its inspiration from the battle tank and promises to provide refinement along with toughness. The TUV300 with the more powerful unit does not get any cosmetic upgrades except the new drivetrain under its hood and thus everything else remains the same except the new drivetrain.

TUV300 to be powered by the more powerful Mhawk100 diesel unit
According to a recent report Mahindra is all set to launch a more powerful variant of the TUV300 in India. The sub four meter SUV is available at this moment with the 1.5-litre, three-cylinder, mHawk80 diesel engine which is capable of producing about 85 Hp of peak power and 230 Nm of torque. However Mahindra has decided to power this popular compact SUV with the Mhawk100 diesel unit which powers their newly launched Nuvosport SUV.
If Mahindra takes this big step then the TUV300 will get a significant jump in both power and torque figures respectively. The 1.5 Litre, three cylinder Mhawk100 turbo diesel unit is more refined and makes about 102 Hp of peak power and 240 Nm of torque.
According to the source the reason behind Mahindra taking such a bold step is because of the feedback and complaints they received from their customers about the slow performance of the TUV300. The small SUV weighs upwards 1600 kilograms which makes the Mhawk80 engine slow responsive as well as under powered. The performance reports states that the TUV300 is the slowest SUV of its segment compared to its rivals the Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Ford Ecosport. Hopefully the implementation of the new and slightly powerful drivetrain will help improve the performance of the TUV300 significantly.
As far as the pricing is concerned expect the new TUV300 with the MHawk100 diesel unit to be priced higher than the current variant. But the TUV300 with the MHawk80 engine will also be sold alongside the powerful variant as well.
The increase in price will however will close the gap between the prices of the TUV300 and the recently introduced Nuvosport which might cause a problem for Mahindra in the long run.
Both the siblings are expected to give each other a tough race

Recently we have seen him positing few images of his fully armored newly introduced TUV300 compact SUV. He also did mention that his vehicle was delivered to him in a warm ceremony to actually compensate the long waiting period. Now this actually makes us happy that even a top official of the company actually is treated like a normal customer and he too had to wait for his vehicle before getting his hands on it finally.
The TUV300 you see in the images is a fully equipped top of the line variant, which even gets its very own Combat Green special color. However this particular SUV also comes equipped with special body armor and other optional accessories which are available with the TUV300. On the exterior we can see the fully loaded compact SUV gets hood scoops and body colored rear view mirrors. On the inside the fully loaded TUV300 gets Black and beige duel tone interiors, while the instrument panel in particular gets chrome bezel surrounds as well. The instrument cluster in particular gets multi information display apart from the speedometer and tachometer. The multi function steering wheel on the other hand is equipped with switches for the audio and telephone controls. Lastly all the windows are power windows and their switches are placed in a rather odd way towards the end of the center console.
The compact SUV also gets plenty of safety features as well which comes in the form of dual airbags for the front passenger and the driver, ABS and EBD and it is even equipped with an engine immobilizer as well.
Mahindra finally aired the television commercials for their latest compact SUV TUV300, which was launched on 10th September. It was bit surprising after the car got launched, and there was no television commercials at all. Although, we have seen the images from the shooting location of this advertisement, but the advertisement itself came late indeed.
In the ad, the protagonist is actor Prabhas from the movie ‘Bahubali’, released a few days ago. The video shows some rugged looking village of Rajasthan, where in a fort looking place a kid is getting abducted by the goons. Then enters Prabhas and his Mahindra TUV300, breaking a wooden door of the fort. After a few seconds of chasing scene, going through the fireball, it seems the advertisement is very much average and it may come appealing to the rural India, but there is less chance of the urban people is going to like such an advertisement. At the end of the video the director compliments Prabhas saying, it was, “Great shot.”; although the the actor reluctantly wants to give a retake of the shot. Well, what can we say! We would like to watch a retake of the advertisement with some unique storyboard, not such average 1980’s Hindi movie style chase and win drama.
Mahindra claims their latest addition Mahindra TUV300 comes with raw power, and it appeals to the rural and urban people of India, who love sheer power and off roading capability with a bit of style and luxury. This TUV300 serves all those purposes indeed. According to Mahindra, this vehicle comes with a look, which was inspired vehemently from battle tank, and it was built entirely by Mahindra’s in house engineers. This car comes with a look which resembles with the Mahindra Bolero, Jeep and Mahindra Quanto, which was the first compact SUV from the Indian origin auto manufacturer. It is powered by a 1.5 liter 3 cylinder mHawk80 diesel engine, which is quite powerful.
Off roading enthusiasts like to armour up their loved cars with such gears and accessories, which make the particular car attractive and capable to take on various challenges. The most anticipated car in recent times has been the Mahindra TUV300, just after the Hyundai Creta, which is also a serious competitor against TUV300. Certainly, this vehicle has every reason to gain such hype, and thus Renault Duster has every reason to fear its latest competitor.
Mahindra has always been the strongest player in the SUV segment of Indian automotive industry. Although, lately we have seen a decline of Mahindra sales, as so many competitors are trying to get a fare share of market pie with their new vehicles, new designs, and new technologies. Renault Duster has always made a strong impression in the mid of people, as it comes with an urban appeal, energetic design and of course one of the best adventure vehicle at present time and that too, the entire package within budget. Mahindra has tried to make fortune at the same spot. Now a days, people like off roading vehicles to come rugged not sleeker. Specially, in India SUVs are fortes in northern states. The compact SUV market has seen plenty of new launches recently from almost all the manufacturers present in the Indian market now and we are also sure that in the coming months we will also notice some new launches from different manufacturers. Mahindra already tried their hands on the compact SUV segment with the Quanto without much of a success, but the homegrown utility vehicle manufacturer is hopeful with their new product.
Coming to the new TUV300 compact SUV, the first letter of its name means ‘Tough’ which actually has been given to highlight its rough and tough stylish design. Not only the design is all new but it even gets a new platform which is really exciting because this SUV will surely handle and behave completely different than any other Mahindra SUV’s and especially the Quanto. Now as pormised the TUV300 has been launched with a single diesel engine which sia n updated variant of the MHawk diesel unit.
