The facelift Quanto gets its own unique identity and plenty of new features

Mahindra failed to impress the people when they launched the Quanto compact SUV in the year 2012. Be it the compact SUV’s styling or the uncomfortable middle row seats, the Quanto was a complete disaster in the Indian market, what was even more surprising was the fact that it looked like a compact MUV Xylo whose rear profile has been chopped off. Then in 2015, Mahindra introduced the TUV300 which was also another compact SUV offering from their stable but luckily this became popular amongst the compact SUV enthusiast of the country, mainly because of its unconventional styling and that newly developed engine under its hood.

Now if you thought that Mahindra will let go the Quanto so easily, then you are wrong because India’s number one utility vehicle manufacturer planned to actually launch a facelift variant of the Quanto which will equipped with an AMT transmission as well. What was even more surprising was also the fact that Mahindra actually ditched the ‘Quanto’ name as well and they have renamed their new compact SUV Nuvosport.

Now here comes the surprising part the Nuvosport is actually also using a new third generation ladder-frame platform also underpins the new generation Scorpio and the TUV300. This new platform replaces the old ladder-frame chassis; this new chassis is actually more stable and provides better support and stability. A lot has changed in terms of styling as well and quite honestly the new sub-4meter SUV definitely lost the Xylo’s shadow and gets its very own unique identity which is definitely a good thing.

Update 04.04.2016:- Mahindra launched the new Nuvosport in India today. This new compact SUV replaces the Quanto and its prices starts at INR. 7.35 Lakhs (ex showroom, Thane). We have updated the article with all the latest information and details
