In the season of festivities, we the petrolheads have reason to rejoice again, as in a few days 2016 edition of the Indian Auto Expo will be organized at New Delhi from 5th to 9th February, 2016. This is certainly the biggest automobile convention of Asia, organized by Society of Indian Automobile Manufactures (SIAM) jointly with the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) the 2016 edition of the prestigious biennial event will be bigger and better.
More than 65 automobile brands including Indian and international companies, are expected to showcase their exciting car models in the 13th edition of the event. Incidentally, in 2014 nearly 55 brands showcased their products at the event. Sadly, there will be few major brands missing this time. We will get to see some exciting new models, some new launches including world launches and hopefully a few concepts at the upcoming event.
The organizers are expecting more than 6 lakh footfall at the India Exposition Mart Ltd (IEML) in Greater Noida, resulting a 20% rise in the number of visitors. The total floor space for the event has been increased by 37240 square metres with six completely new air conditioned halls, alongside the already available eight halls, resulting the total floor space to around 79000 square metres.

Jaguar Land Rover India has launched a new innovative smartphone integration platform; InControl Apps. Developed in collaboration with Bosch, this platform is designed to transform the interface of the user’s smartphone to the in-car infotainment touchscreen, allowing the users access to the popular apps. InControl Apps platform will be available on Land Rover Models like Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Discovery Sport.
To develop this new platform Jaguar Land Rover and Bosch has closely worked with leading third party app developers. The India specific platform is customized to give the users access to the popular apps of the country which include NDTV, Hungama, MapmyIndia and Zomato. Both Android and iOS users can access and use this platform with ease. Commenting on the launch of this new platform Rohit Suri, the President of Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd (JLRIL), has said, “InControl Apps will enhance the overall luxury experience of our vehicles and provide technology savvy customers a more convenient option to access their favorite apps. This is an exciting new technology addition to Land Rover vehicles, which have already become popular for their design, performance, craftsmanship and luxury credentials.” It will be subsequently available to other Jaguar and Land Rover cars in near future.

As the next James Bond flick Spectre is gearing up for its launch worldwide, Jaguar Land Rover showcased the Spectre cars at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Three Spectre cars showcased in the event were – a Jaguar C-X75, which is the vehicle of choice for Mr. Hinx played by none other than the WWE Superstar Dave Bautista, who is the henchman of the villain in the movie, an extensively modified Land Rover Defender and a Range Rover Sport SVR. We have seen all these vehicles in the trailer teasers and the making videos of the latest Bond movie.
The Jaguar C-X75 is a sports car concept, which was first showcased at 2010 Paris Motor Show, but ultimately abandoned by Jaguar, for some unknown reason. In the movie Spectre, we have seen Mr. Hinx, played by famous actor David Bautista, chasing Bonds Aston Martin DB10 in this stunningly gorgeous and powerful car painted in Orange (Read and watch it here). In some other videos we have seen The Range Rover Sport SVR and two absolutely rugged looking Land Rover Defenders in a chasing scene, which were shot in Austrian Alps. In the previous Bond movie Skyfall, we have seen Naomie Harris aka Eve Monepenny driving a rugged looking Land Rover Defender during the initial action sequences.

Jaguar Land Rover the renowned British auto manufacturer owned by Tata Motors inaugurated their newest Manufacturing facility in Changshu, China. This is the British Auto Manufacturers joint venture with Chery automobile company who actually formed 50:50 joint ventures with Jaguar Land Rover in the year 2012.
The Jaguar Land Rover facility in Changshu is actually spread upon 4, 00,000 sq. mt. and took 2 years to complete. This factory which is a part of RMB 10.9 billion joint venture investment plan will first manufacture the Range Rover Evoque SUV which is the most popular model in China while the rest of the models will be introduced later by the year 2016. If everything goes according to the plan the facility will be manufacturing a total of three Jaguar Land Rover models with a total production capacity of 130,000 units a year. JLR is already constructing a new aluminium body shop in the same facility which will even support the new XE sedan manufacturing process.
The Chagshu facility already houses highly-automated press shops with cutting-edge aluminium and steel technologies; there is also a steel body shop which is run by 306 robots. Beside all these the Changshu facility also has an energy efficient paint shop and an ergonomically-friendly final assembly line. The new facility recruited 2000 people and they have been trained in the fields of health and safety standards, process systems and problem-solving.
